DRIVING CLEAN GROWTH ACROSS THE NORTH WEST

GREENFLEET NORTH WEST • 25th June 2020

WELCOME Welcome to GREENFLEET North West GREENFLEET365 presents GREENFLEET North West an online event addressing air quality and clean growth strategies across the North West. This event is designed for professionals looking to explore the very latest in ultra-low emission vehicle technology, charging, sustainability and strategy. Supported by some of the region’s key authorities, you can expect to hear the latest in Government Policy, with support from the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and gain insight into the latest incentives and information available. The Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT), supported by Maxus UK, Kia Motors UK and Toyota GB, will offer an insight into what innovative vehicle technology is on the market NOW, and what is in the pipeline for the future. To cover the national infrastructure plans and capabilities, we have expert advice from National Grid, whilst the Crown Commercial Service will give an overview of the new Charging and Infrastructure Framework and ubitricity will guide you through the latest workplace and on-street charging options. Environmental law charity ClientEarth has recently stated that any air quality improvements brought about by the current Coronavirus Lockdown are likely to be short lived.

obligation to clean up the air across the country and has committed to keeping any delay to Clean Air Zones as short as possible. It is therefore vital that preparatory work to draw up local air quality plans continues and that help and support for businesses across the country to move to cleaner forms of transport should be part of the package of stimulus measures to help drive our economic recovery. So, if your responsibilities are in Fleet/Transport (Vehicles), Estates/Facilities (Charging & Infrastructure), Environment/Sustainability (Strategy and Policy) and Procurement, then this is the event series for you. Make sure you raise your issues, take part in the polls and help us help you make ULEVs a viable consideration for your organisation. If you have any issues or questions, please see ask for help from a GREENFLEET member of staff on the general chat. If you have any technical issues then please call Rosario Surace on 0208 532 5737. Any feedback you might have would be extremely welcome. Please email us at: rosario.surace@psigroupltd.co.uk We hope you enjoy your day. Colin Boyton

National Grid National Grid may be a well‑known name, but there are often misconceptions as to what we actually do. We own the Electricity Transmission in England and Wales, as well as the Gas Transmission for the whole of Great Britain In more relatable terms, this means that we own the Motorways and Dual Carriageways of the energy system, where the local A and B roads are run by Regional Distribution Networks; hence we are critical to keeping the lights on and the gas flowing. National Grid does not buy, sell, or generate electricity, we simply transport it from where it’s made

to where it’s consumed. We obviously share the target of net zero by 2050, are confident about meeting this target. In this vein of sustainability, we are aware that as the Transmission Owner, we have an essential role when it comes to the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the UK. National Grid can cope with 100% EVs and having the right ‘future proof’ grid capacity at the right location ahead of need is key to success for charge point owners. National Grid is the enabler of the low carbon transport future, and we see collaboration ensuring this ‘managed transition’ to clean transport.

It also ensures drivers can enjoy exceptional vehicle quality, safety and style alongside a smooth, quietly‑refined hybrid driving experience. Toyota and Lexus received a record‑breaking number of awards in 2019. The bumper honours haul reflects the quality of our model ranges – both new and established. In the Which? 2019/20 Car Guide, twelve Toyota models achieved ‘Best Buy’ status following independent lab tests. The

current Yaris Hybrid, Prius+ and RAV4 Hybrid, plus used favourites such as the Auris and Prius Plug-in were all praised for reliability. Lexus, meanwhile was named Best Car Brand in the 2019 Which? Awards, in recognition of its industry-leading technology and the high quality of its vehicles. It’s over 20 years since the first Prius hybrid was launched. Today, Toyota and Lexus have a model line-up that includes 20 hybrid models. Recent additions include the Corolla, which is built in Britain, the RAV4 and the Camry, plus the Lexus UX compact SUV and ES saloon. 2020 sees two more exciting arrivals with the All New RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid and the All New Toyota Yaris.

SPONSORS ubitricity Ubitricity: helping councils create convenient, low cost, reliable EV public charging networks There are 5 big benefits of driving electric: zero emission travel; torque-ontap acceleration; ultra-low maintenance; low fuel costs; charge-while-yousleep fuelling. But EV drivers without driveways battle to enjoy the last two: cheap and convenient fuelling. ubitricity is changing that. We’re helping councils place EV charge points right outside the homes of EV drivers who lack driveways. With our charge points inside the lampposts on their street, EV drivers can park up close to home and charge overnight. And they’ll pay much less

than the typical price of rapid chargers. Backed by strong established brands like Siemens, Honda and EDF, we deliver a smart, flexible, low carbon energy system by providing turnkey EV charging systems Anyone, from local residents to working vans, can use our smart EV charging system when they’re parked for a while. That helps charge point hosts, such as local authorities, businesses and fleet depots, to lead by example on our road to net zero. No wonder 24 councils have installed nearly 2,000 of our charge points for their residents and visitors! We believe we can provide electricity for everyone everywhere. So let’s talk about your sustainable transport plans. www.ubitricity.co.uk
