GreenFleet NORTH WEST

------- T H E R O A D TO 2 0 3 0 B E G I N S H E R E ------The NET ZER0 ROADSHOW continues... Like you, GREENFLEET eagerly awaits the announcement for PHYSICAL events in the UK to resume. And we inch ever closer to this anticipated moment. In the meantime we continue to bring you the same events ONLINE and so our Net Zero Roadshow continues, which today brings you to the North West of England. The North West is the third-most-populated region in the UK, after the South East and Greater London and the wide-scale adoption of low carbon technologies such as electric vehicles is essential. Net Zero North West is already making significant steps forward in the battle against climate change. The regional organisation is creating the UK’s first low carbon industrial cluster by 2030, saving 10 million tonnes of carbon per year, creating 33,000 new jobs and seeing £4bn invested in the region. This will support post-COVID recovery while achieving the UK’s legally binding net zero targets. So with no need for social-distancing… No need for facemasks, gloves or hand sanitiser... All you need do today is sit back, relax and take part, of course. Net Zero Roadshow North West features many top-level experts, all here to highlight how YOUR authority and the UK government can help YOUR business embark on a ‘ULEV Journey’, together.

Also, heading the line-up are the biggest vehicle manufacturers and specialist organisations operating in the UK – all on hand for LIVE chat throughout the morning. Fleet purchasing and framework advice comes courtesy of Crown Commercial Service, along with Connected Kerb, while ubitricity and Pivot Power detail how their market-leading technology can make your fleets go the distance. You have access to all presentations, both LIVE and ON DEMAND and you will also be able to chat to our wonderful GREENFLEET guests via the Q&A tab. Simply, tap in your questions and get the answers you need INSTANTLY. Make sure to post your comments on Twitter @GreenFleetNews and LinkedIn. We hope you have an enjoyable and informative event.

Colin Boyton, Events manager GF365 & GREENFLEET Events

GREENFLEET Ambassador, Kate Armitage is your host and sets the North West scene ahead of in-depth discussions with Office of Zero Emission Vehicles, the Association of Fleet Professionals, and GREENFLEET favourite Simon King from Mitie.

National Grid National Grid may be a wellknown name, but there are often misconceptions as to what we actually do. We own the Electricity Transmission in England and Wales, as well as the Gas Transmission for the whole of Great Britain. In more relatable terms, this means that we own the Motorways and Dual Carriageways of the energy system, where the local A and B roads are run by Regional Distribution Networks; hence we are critical to keeping the lights on and the gas flowing. National Grid does not buy, sell, or generate electricity, we simply transport it from where it’s made

to where it’s consumed. We obviously share the target of net zero by 2050, are confident about meeting this target. In this vein of sustainability, we are aware that as the Transmission Owner, we have an essential role when it comes to the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the UK. National Grid can cope with 100% EVs and having the right ‘future proof’ grid capacity at the right location ahead of need is key to success for charge point owners. National Grid is the enabler of the low carbon transport future, and we see collaboration ensuring this ‘managed transition’ to clean transport.

www.nationalgrid.com/uk/electricity-transmission

Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) is the fleet industry’s premier membership organisation which embodies the combined strengths of two of the industry’s most prolific organisations, ACFO and the ICFM. It provides fleet stakeholders with a single point of entry to membership that enables access to the combined activities of these two leading industry bodies.

AFP membership will enable fleet decision-makers to obtain advice and guidance regarding the key issues of the day, that are impacting on the operating efficiency and effectiveness of their vehicle operations and enhance personal development and career prospects via the fleet sector‘s highly acknowledged education and training programmes.

There are 5 big benefits of driving electric: zero emission travel; torque-on-tap acceleration; ultra-low maintenance; low fuel costs; charge-while-you-sleep fuelling. We’re helping councils place EV charge points right outside the homes of EV drivers who lack driveways. With our charge points inside the lampposts on their street, EV drivers can park up close to home and charge
