WELCOME Welcome to GREENFLEET Glasgow It may have been virtual, but throughout 2020 you have joined us in the North West, Wales and the East of England for our GREENFLEET ROAD-2-ZERO Roadshow and today, to end the year on a much-needed high, we transport you to a city that is leading by example, when it comes to air quality and electrification; the beautiful city of Glasgow. Okay – so yes, our plan was to stage the event LIVE, for a third successive year, but something got in the way. Oh yes, that little hiccup of the year, the COVID pandemic. So rather than sink, we steadied the buffers and set to work repurposing ALL the GREENFLEET ROAD-2-ZERO Roadshow events to a COVID-safe online format, and the transition has been hugely successful. So today, you have no need for social-distancing… No need for facemasks, gloves or sanitiser... And best of all, you can enjoy this event entirely from the safety and comfort of your ‘home office’ or even workplace. So why are we heading to Glasgow? It is a region that has many success stories when it comes to air quality and electrification, but as we all know, success is not achieved without learning some valuable lessons along the way. If you are the Fleet or Transport Manager, we are sure that you agree. This is why, we bring you all the latest in policy and incentives from long-standing GREENFLEET partners, the government’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles and valuable, focused insight from Transport Scotland and the Energy Saving Trust. The morning’s programme also features updates and future plans for how charging and infrastructure requirements can be met and Glasgow City Council places

the spotlight on excellent strategy plans to help you along the way. Not only that, city-based case studies highlight the highs and lows, dos and don’ts of achieving your LEZ goals. Then we give you a little time to refuel your mugs of tea ahead of venturing into the breakout sessions. Quite simply, these are designated, topic-led Q&A sessions led by industry experts who will answer the questions you need answered. Pop into any, or all, of the breakout rooms at your leisure to cover the topics that matter to you. And to ensure you are in safe hands throughout the entire morning, our GREENFLEET Ambassador and host, Kate Armitage, will expertly guide you on your way to getting the most for your business from this interactive event. Quite simply, GREENFLEET Glasgow is where Transport, Energy and Digital come together, with you at its core. Tweet and share your thoughts and comments throughout the event on LinkedIn and when posting, please tag GREENFLEET UK and GREENFLEET Events on LinkedIn and @GreenFleetNews on Twitter and use the #Hashtags #GFGlasgow #eMobility #CleanerFleets. Thank you for joining us for GREENFLEET Glasgow brought to you by the team behind the GREENFLEET online event brand, GF365. We hope you have an enjoyable and informative event. ‘Til next time...

PARTNERS Glasgow City Council On the back of significant progress made on the City’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, the introduction of the Low Emission Zone and the ever expanding network of ‘Next bikes’, Glasgow City Council are pleased to be hosting the digital GREENFLEET event on Thursday. With many vehicle manufacturers phasing out the production of petrol and diesel engine vehicles, the Scottish Government’s commitment to phase out said vehicles by 2032 and the increasing product choice, ever there has never been a better time to consider an EV for your next car.

Most of the major vehicle and charge point manufacturers will be on hand to introduce the latest vehicles, offer test drives and explain how EVs can benefit. Glasgow City Council offers free electric vehicle charging at a network of plugged in places around the city, operating nearly 200 charging outlets throughout Glasgow. We continue to improve and expand on this network and are in the process of transitioning the Council’s fleet to zero-emission alternatives. This is a great opportunity for commercial operators and members of the public alike to gain more understanding of electric vehicles (EVs), the associated charging infrastructure and available support, with a view to making your own transition plans.

www.glasgow.gov.uk

ChargePlace Glasgow In September 2017, as part of the Scottish Government’s Programme for Government, Nicola Sturgeon announced that all petrol and diesel vehicles would be phased out in Scotland by 2032. Glasgow will become Scotland’s first Low Emission Zone (LEZ), further driving the demand for ultra-low emission vehicles (ULEV). This LEZ is now in place with the first phase applying to buses and will culminate in 2022 when all vehicles will be subject to the restrictions. Glasgow is key to Scotland’s air quality improvement success, and because Glasgow City Council (GCC), the Scottish Government and its partners are committed to unlocking the Region’s

full economic potential and make it the low-carbon ‘growth engine’ for the area. Glasgow City Council’s EV network facilitates in excess of 41,000 charges annually for over 2,500 distinct users. This is expected to rise 10-fold over the next five years. As demand on the network continues to rise, enforcement of spaces is critical for the user experience and crucial to maintaining user confidence specifically in the network and in EVs generally. Glasgow City Council will be installing approximately 60 additional charge points throughout the city in 2019 and up to 70 in 2020. To find your closest charge point visit the website below. https://chargeplacescotland.org

SPONSORS Connected Kerb Connected Kerb offer a unique approach to electric vehicle charging infrastructure - one that champions sustainability and connectivity. We have designed a future-proof, sustainable smart cities infrastructure platform; it is the first of its kind, combining power and data at kerbside to enable charging and connectivity for electric and autonomous vehicles whilst supporting the application of advanced IoT technologies. The system is split between a subterranean Node Box that houses the

intelligent componentry, and the aboveground charge points, which are made from >80% recycled vehicle tyres and fit to existing street furniture. The charge points act as Wi-Fi / 5G access points, enabling air quality, traffic and other IoT sensors. The system can support wireless charging and has won a number of global awards for its focus on innovation and sustainability. Our focus is offering EV charging to those (some 45% in UK) who are unable to charge at home. We believe everyone should have access to EVs, and this inclusivity is crucial to realising a better, greener future for all people.

SPONSORS LeasePlan LeasePlan has more than 1.9 million vehicles under management in over 30 countries. With over 50 years’ experience, LeasePlan’s mission is to provide what’s next in sustainable mobility so our customers can focus on what’s next for them. We believe passionately in sustainability, which is why we have the target of reaching net zero emissions by 2030 – and for our internal fleet to be fully electric by 2021. To achieve this goal, we run live events, host webinars and produce white papers that show how zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) are a viable proposition. These are supported by a dedicated consultancy service that provides information and insights, plus a fully scalable pilot programme that allows companies to test the effectiveness of going electric.

We also work closely with vehicle manufacturers and infrastructure providers to improve value for money – and ZEVs have now reached the point where they are cost-competitive with the most common diesel and petrol engines in fleets. Finally, we take a broader view and support the industry as a whole. We are a founding partner of the EV100 initiative and a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Thanks to this work, we were named GreenFleet Leasing Company of the Year in 2018 and 2019 and we’ve received a Silver Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis.
