The Beauty of the Night
The Beauty of the Night A Collection of Photos
Peaceful Night Ferry Beach State Park, Saco ME
As Darkness Consumes our planet another
form of beauty revels itself. The following is a collection of that beauty captured by Maine College of Art Student Patrick Scholz. Patrick has had a wide range of experiences in life from his early years in the Marine Corps, to the middle and later years exploring the United States from Maine to California. It is his hope to explore and share those experiences with the world through his artistic expression. These wonderful pictures explore the nighttime hours and what beauty we often miss as we lay in our beds. A few of the photos are also an exploration in flashlight painting and other special effects which can only be achieved at night. The equipment used were a Nikon D700 and Licaflex SL camera, AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm 1:4G ED Lens, and Benroe tripod. Some of the effects were created with the use of flashlights and smoke bombs. Exposures ranged from 3 minutes to 30 minutes.
Enjoy the beauty of darkness that lies within. Sincerely,
Patrick Scholz
