The G.R.O.W.T.H Initiative, managed by 100 Roses From Concrete, was created in March of 2020 by 100 Roses From Concrete founder / Chief Creative Officer Keni Thacker, former Program Creator of the J.Walter Thompson (now Wunderman Thompson) Young Commodores program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The free virtual agency program will allow a select group of multicultural college students to gain advertising and marketing experience over ten weeks. In addition, the fellows will apply the lessons taught by members of 100 Roses From Concrete and special guests to create branding assets for real-life non-profit clients.

The Post-Gazette offers internships across our newsroom. There are opportunities in News, Sports, Features, Health, Business and our Universal Copy Desk. Our interns work with their editors and fellow interns throughout the 10-week-long internship. We encourage interns to generate ideas and to ask questions of reporters and editors around the newsroom. Our interns will get plenty of opportunities to write. In the past, our interns have averaged 30 to 40 stories during their internship. Reporters mainly work Monday-Friday, but will also find themselves doing weekend duty occasionally. We look forward to our intern class, which usually numbers a dozen members. If you like being challenged and collaborating with award-winning reporters and editors, we’re the place to be this summer.
