I hope to work as a psychiatric or pediatric nurse and eventually work as a school nurse when I start a family.

While in the nursing program, the best advice you ever received was: The best nurse is the one who smiles when their patient smiles, and cries when their patient cries. The patients will remember their nurse that genuinely cared for them.

My most memorable experience at PSU has been meeting the most genuine individuals who will be my long-term friends.

What are your future goals in nursing?

I hope to obtain a job in cardiac nursing and a long-term goal of mine is to become a nurse practitioner.

While in the nursing program, the best advice you ever received was: Enjoy this time while it lasts because college goes incredibly fast. These are the years you will look back on for the rest of your life. Oh, and grades don’t matter!

What is the most memorable experience(s) from Penn State Hershey? The most memorable experience I have had at Penn State Hershey is the interactions I have had with some of the nurses. Some of them are really wanting to teach and see me and other students succeed.

My most memorable experience at PSU was experiencing THON as a committee member for 3 years and during junior year being 2nd in command and participating during the Final Four and the pep rally.

I hope to start out with a job I love. Eventually, I would like to do travel nursing or join the military.

While in the nursing program, the best advice you ever received was: It is never too early to start studying or doing

homework. Connections and networking are just as important in nursing as it is in business! Summer jobs related to healthcare are KEY! Healthcare related job between freshman & sophomore year = good aide job. Between sophomore and junior year = good extern job. Between junior and senior year = good job offer at the end! Seriously! This is a REAL THING!!! No jobs are “below you.� Experience is KEY and looks great on resume.

Become a standout bedside nurse who is a good patient advocate. Also, explore different settings and eventually find a place to stay that I am passionate about.

Hospitals are 24-hour care facilities. When your shift is over, go home and leave work at work.

What is the most overall memorable experience at PSU? Dinner dates with my friends, late nights staying up to talk, sporting events, and sledding in my backyard during snow days.

What are your future goals in nursing?

I would like to work in critical care and emergency services at some point in the next couple of years. I want to work towards getting additional certifications and leadership opportunities. I hope to one day go back to school to be a nurse practitioner. Over my career, I would like to travel and volunteer in countries needing additional healthcare services.

What is the most overall memorable experience at PSU? My nurse family partnership internship for my CMAS minor. I really enjoyed this because it was a very different perspective of nursing and it was very interesting to learn about.

What are your future goals in nursing?

My future goals are to go back to school and become a nurse practitioner.

A nurse with a 4.0 GPA is the same as a nurse with a 3.0 GPA, in the end were all nurses.

I plan to work as either a pediatric or an OB nurse in Pittsburgh.

To work as an ICU nurse for a few years. Then possibly go back to CRNA school. If that doesn’t work out, then I would love to eventually be a flight nurse.

A 4.0 GPA isn’t guaranteed to make you a great nurse. If you can show you are a good nurse, then no one really cares if you have a 3.0 vs. 4.0.

Work in acute care for a few years. Go back and apply to graduate NP program.

Becoming the best nurse does not exactly require you to start on a med-surg floor. Follow your passion and you will be great!

The most memorable experiences I’ve had at PSU include: becoming a member of GSS, becoming a little sister at Sigma Tau Gamma, taking WLI, a wide variety of clinical experiences, and being a big sister in the Big Brother Big Sister program.

What is the most overall memorable experience at PSU? Most memorable was being a Big Sister in the Big Brother Big Sister program. Watching my Little blossom have positive behavioral changes was amazing and I loved every minute of it.

What are your future goals in nursing?

I accepted job position for an OB/NICU rotational program. I hope to get a full-time position following the program at the same hospital. Eventually I’d love to go back to school. I might go back to become a nursing professor.

While in the nursing program, the best advice you ever received was: To learn the basics early on because the material builds on each other.

What is the most overall memorable experience at PSU? I think my most memorable experience at PSU would have to be dancing in THON 2019. It was such an emotional, inspiring, and empowering experience that will stick with me for the rest of my life.

I would like to go into pediatric oncology. Eventually go back to school to be a NP, and possibly in the future get my PhD and do research.

The best advice I received while in the nursing program was to believe in myself. I am capable of achieving great things, I just have to believe it and work for it.

What is the most overall memorable experience at PSU? Working closely with University administration and UPUA to change how we calculate GPAs. It opens up so many opportunities for our undergrad students. If you believe in something, keep working at it no matter how many people say no.

Nursing informatics to design future medical technology.

Even if you don’t agree with someone’s beliefs, actions, or culture, you can’t treat them differently. They may not agree with you either, but they need to know you are there to help you.

What is the most memorable experience(s) from Penn State Hershey? On my observation day in the ED I helped care for a stroke patient. One day while I was working at Old Navy that patient and their significant other came in to shop, recognized me, and thanked me for helping them.

What is the most overall memorable experience at PSU? I don’t have one moment that is most memorable. The collection of many memories of days spent with my friends is what has made my college career so fun.
