IB Learner Profile The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognising their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

Central to the IB programmes is the learner profile, a long-term, holistic vision of education that underpins the IB continuum of education and puts the student at the centre of everything we do. The IB learner profile includes ten attributes that will support students in being successful both during and beyond their school careers.

The Senior School is committed to the learning, success and happiness of all students. Students have many opportunities to develop skills, concepts and attitudes in the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes, and the IB Careerrelated Programme.

Senior School students in Grades 6 to Grade 10 follow the IB Middle Years Programme which follows on from Junior School’s PYP in its spirit of inquiry, international ideals and use of the IB Learner Profile.

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) is an academically challenging and balanced programme of education with final examinations that prepares students, ages sixteen to nineteen, for success at university and life beyond. It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students.

The programme has gained recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.

Students using technology as a tool for developing innovative ideas

Information Technology

At Prem, we are preparing our students for a digital future. We have a technology facilitator who works with teachers school-wide to integrate technology, where appropriate, as a tool for learning.

There are shared laptop computers and iPads available in the Junior School (Early Years to Grade 5) classrooms and programmable toys.

In the Senior School there is a one-to-one laptop programme for all students Grades 6 – 12, allowing them easy access to information and their own work almost anywhere on campus. Prem offers an IT Support Centre and is an Apple school.

Our teachers really care about the learning needs of students

We are an international community with students coming from over thirty countries and teachers coming from fifteen countries. We provide native English, Thai, Korean, Mandarin and French teachers to offer our students the best language opportunities possible, and we are very proud that all of our teachers are fully-qualified to teach in their specialised fields.

In addition to faculty members holding a range of post-graduate certificates, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees and doctorates, many of our academic staff are qualified and experienced International Baccalaureate examiners, teacher-trainers, authorisation team members, consultants and leaders.

Healthcare is a primary concern

Medical Care and Campus Security

Prem has four fully-trained nurses, at least one of whom is on duty at all times.

There is a well equipped Medical Centre on campus with examination rooms with male and female wards. For the boarding community, a resident nurse is on-call in the boarding clusters to solve any late night problems.

If our nursing staff cannot immediately resolve a medical problem, a school van or the Prem Ambulance is available to take students to a local leading hospital.

Dental clinics or medical facilities – all of international standards – may also be used depending on circumstances. Parents are always kept fully-informed of their children’s condition or whereabouts.

The school campus is protected by security guards who are on duty twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Prem is designed to give children the best education possible to qualify them to seek entrance into the best universities in this country and in the world. A Prem education allows parents, grandparents and relatives to participate in the child’s educational process by encouraging them to live on a full-time or part-time basis on campus and participate fully as members of the Traidhos Community.

The school is located in the beautiful hills north of Chiang Mai but only half an hour from urban conveniences and the airport link to Bangkok and the world. A Prem education is the best education possible for a child in this rapidly-changing world not only because it offers the most modern learning techniques but also because it is based on the sound principle of traditional family values.
