I am Daniella Chila. I am a 21 year old graphic design student from Newport Beach, California. I have been obsessed with all things design for as long as I could remember. I crave learning as much as possible. This typography class has taught me a lot about the design world and gave me even more of a reason to want to continue my career in Graphic Design. -Daniella Chila

A A is the first letter and the first vowel in the ISO basic Latin alphabet.[1]
It is similar to the Ancient Greek letter alpha, from which it derives.[2] The upper-case version consists of the two slanting sides of a triangle, crossed in the middle by a horizontal bar.

The letter V comes from the Semitic letter Waw, as do the modern letters F, U, W, and Y.[2] See F for details.
In Greek, the letter upsilon was adapted from waw to represent, at first, the vowel [u] as in “moon”. This was later fronted to [y], the front rounded vowel spelled ‘ü’ in German.

The Museum of Modern Typography Presents an exhibit of the creator of the fashion font
Firmin
didot Modern typefaces, characterized by consistently horizontal stress, flat and unbracketed serifs, and a high contrast between thin and thick strokes, were the final step in typography’s two-hundred-year journey away from calligraphy. In the late eighteenth century the style was perfected, and became forever associated with two typographic giants: in Parma, Giambattista Bodoni (1740-1813), and in Paris, Firmin Didot (1764-1836).
