Takeover by CROSTINI
The Rise of Famous Italian Crostini in American Culture. Crostini makes the perfect start for your day. It could always be paired with fruits, veggies and even edible flowers. Crostini makes a healthy lunch and suitable for pre-snack during dinner time, especially when friends come over. It is good to eat with wine and cocktails. Here is one of my favorite crostini, served with generous amount of buratta and cured meat. Topped with cilantro and red peppers and drizzled with olive oil. I can almost taste everything at the tip of my tongue! We eat with our eyes first so it is all about how you cut and present your ingredients on the table. Makes my day! I hope this tasty little snack will energize your day too! WORDS & PHOTO ANGELINE LIS

F LY I N G I N S T Y LE I LOVE SQ Here's what it's like to fly first class on Singapore Airlines, one of the best airlines in the world.
Breakfast in bed and restaurant dining might not be what you picture when you think of air travel, but in first class on Singapore Airlines, it's all part of the service. The airline, named the third best in the world by consumer-aviation website Skytrax, is based at Singapore's Changi International Airport, which in turn has been voted the best in the world for four years in a row. While the airline has been commended for its “standout service” and entertainment options, its first class options certainly seem to be the highlight. From comfy double beds covered in rose petals and chocolate in a private cabin, to Champagne and an extra-wide leather seat, here’s a taste of what it’s like to fly first class with Singapore Airlines. marrying into a happy, unique union. “Gone are the days of the classic rules of design. Specific styles seem to be disappearing; there is a marriage of a lot of styles into one creative space.” Visosky feels that home designs and office designs are both getting stripped back to the bare bones, creating a final product that is a comfortable and unique extension of the client—without an over-styled theme. ” I want to create of-the-moment rooms for my clients; rooms where they can feel creative, or unwind and tune-out the hectic world around them.” Indeed, it seems the rules of design are changing and the reigns are loosening, allowing designers to create unique homes that perhaps are the burgeoning new styles of the future or new ‘rules’ of design.

It needs to be realistic. Visosky has a very interesting point whereby she relates the current trends in the world of music and fashion to interior design. “The design world is taking a cue from music and fashion—lyrics and clothing are stepping back in time to a 50’s and 60’s feel good era that was happy, understated and natural. This laid back way of thinking is showing up everywhere in interior designs.”

WOHA – a Singapore-based architectural practice founded by Wong Mun Summ and Richard Hassell in 1994 – have gained global recognition for their integration of environmental and social principles at every stage of the design process. They have designed a diverse amount of innovative and highly influential projects, which have been built in a number of cities and countries, and their best-known projects have been widely publicised as benchmarks for sustainable design. WOHA has completed the alila hotel-uluwatu in bali, indonesia. composed of a series of semi-transparent rectangular boxes, the design is such that the exterior and interior are merely extensions of one another. delicate wooden lattice work dissolves from the opaque nature of the floor and roof to the wall planes where slivers barely cover the extraordinary views to the nearby sea. various reflecting pools define a landscape rife with palm trees and interplay solid land and aqueous void. The structure was sure to adhere to strict ecologically-sensitive measures throughout its construction and maintenance. local recyclable and recycled materials are used throughout the project with special attention given to the treatment of water on site. rainwater is harvested naturally, conserved, and re-routed to pools and gardens to feed the plethora of balinese plants that work to preserve the indigenous vegetation. the result is a seemingly small scale private composition of rooms hidden within the context, with a sensible design that does PIED-A-TERRE not retract environmentally / 25
In the near future, experts predict that smarthomes will go much further than just standalone devices. Smart interiors will be built into the very structure of our homes. For example, Italian design company Tipic are pioneering smart kitchen integrations with their revolutionary Tulèr kitchen worktop. Moreover, the beginning of The Tiny House Movement is one of the most striking phenomena that is set to overturn the way we think about interiors. Put simply, it is the movement whereby individuals are actively downsizing their living spaces, typically to under 400 square feet. PIED-A-TERRE / 26
The Tiny House movement has gripped America, and is partly in response to rising house prices but also thanks to a greater environmental awareness and willingness to reduce our carbon f ootprint. Advocates of the movement are masters at living in well-planned and incredibly efficient living spaces. They argue that downsizing to such an extent forces you to appreciate experiences over possessions – simplifying your life and your spending habits. When space is at a premium you can’t afford to be wasteful. With living costs still sky high, tiny houses may become the norm in a not-so-distant future.

This Regent residence is filled with exquisite mahogany wood and marble tiles all throughout the house. With built in air conditioner and furnished interior, the Indonesian sure are willing to live lavishly. Our editor also has the previledge to tour around some other famous buildings such as the Hermitage, which is legalised by the government, Keraton at the plaza, which is one of the most exclusive hotel collection in the whole world. Indonesia’s famous houses are located at the heart of the capital city in Jakarta, Menteng. Da vinci residence is one of the many places where famous artist like Da Vinci himself, come to design the interiors. The luxurious living of Indonesian are prominent not only in the houses and apartments, but also seen in the food that they consume. you’re just mixing up some new patterns
your nails are a way for you to tell a story. We should use them to express our inner
selves, so why not go crazy? For those who may be a bit more timid and afraid to step outside of their comfort zone, nails are the way to go. PIED-A-TERRE / 36

UG Seeking inspiration from the
hottest new nail trends is always a good idea, but why not try something that
you normally never would. If you were thinking about getting some new body
jewelry but are still hesitant, work those jewels into your style through your nail
designs. We have all witnessed celebrities,
friends, and even people we pass by in the streets with killer style that’s really out
there and like nothing we have ever seen before. Perhaps you’ve always wanted
to make a drastic change in your style
that’s a little more avant-garde, but you
don’t know how. Start slow and use your nails as a transition into a style much
different than the one you are used too.
3-D glass nail trends are a great
example of how to amp up your style!
This beautiful nail design creation started in Korea and can now be seen all over
the world. These nails incorporate shards of glass layered on top of a coat of polish to create a mosaic effect. The end result
is phenomenal, this trend is sure to turn
heads.Try ‘em on for size, no harm no foul right? If you don’t absolutely love it, who
says you have to keep them? Changing up your look is as simple as a quick change of color. Recently ‘bubble nails’ became trendy but were definitely a matter of taste. Followers of this trend applied
acrylic to their nail tips in the shape of
bubbles. While most people did not
understand the trend, those who were daring enough to try it knew they had nothing to lose. We can all agree that
commitment isn’t for everyone, especially when you are someone who changes
their mind as much as they do outfits.
Luckily unlike a new hair color, your nails can change as often as you like! After all,
nails can be one of your best accessories. Still not sure what to do with your nails?
Use your nails to complete your outfit! If you find that your wardrobe tends to fall
in the neutral or dark tones color pallets, throw in some color. Maybe you would
never wear a highlighter yellow blouse,

G but having that color as an accent on your nails may help pull your outfit together. Wanting more? Try going for a slightly
neutral color as your base to keep the
nails from looking too out there, and then pile on the sprinkles. Not really, but feel
free to add any cute decals, and if you’re
feeling daring go all out! Kawaii nails are great inspiration as well, these designs
include sugar, spice, and everything nice
and that’s not an exaggeration. Although
they are best known for their use of 3D bows, hearts, and pearls, Kawaii nails in-
