" No other design discipline requires so much learning and training as fontography, and by no other aspect can amateurs be so easily distinguished from professionals. To be font literate, a designer has to study the history and the principles of font design. "

As a person that was born and raised in Los Angeles,
R O D U C
My drive and passion for the graphic arts is something I cherish and my future will hold growth in all aspects of graphic design.

art is a big influence in my life. I started doodling and drawing from a very young age and early on I knew that I wanted to make my passion a career. I took the study of art to a personal level; never taking any drawing or illustration classes and instead teaching myself through trial and error. It was at the age of 17 that I discovered the world of graphic design. I knew that graphic design was the branch of art I wanted to pursue. I quickly learned many programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign and I continue to sharpen my skills in them every day through practice and self given artistic goals. Since my graduation from high school in 2013 I have worked on many graphic design projects and I plan to continue my graphic career until old and grey. I plan on starting a design firm for graphic design students while also continuing my personal freelance work. I want to change the way the world looks at graphic design and make design loved and admired by all.

CHARACTER STUDIES THE LETTER M Gunplay is a hard-nosed stencil font inspired by the poster for a 1972 Steve McQueen/Ali MacGraw film.
The letter M is derived from the Phoenician Mem, via the Greek Mu (Μ, μ). Semitic Mem probably originally pictured water. It is thought that Semitic people working in Egypt c. 2000 BC borrowed a hieroglyph for "water" that was first used for an alveolar nasal (/n/), because of the Egyptian wo for water, n-t. This same symbol word became used for /m/ in Semitic, because the word for water began with that sound.

The letter 'm' represents the bilabial consonant sound, [m], in the orthography of Latin, as well as in many modern languages. In English, the Oxford English Dictionary (first edition) says that 'm' is sometimes a vowel in words like spasm and in the suffix -ism. In modern terminology, this would be described as a syllabic consonant — IPA [m].

Firmin Didot was a French printer, engraver, and type founder. He invented the word "stereotype", which in printing refers to the metal printing plate created for the actual printing of pages (as opposed to printing pages directly with movable type), and used the process extensively, revolutionizing the book trade by his cheap editions. His manufactory was a place of pilgrimage for the printers of the world.
