Volunteer of the Year Geremy Kornreich may be a new volunteer for the Colorado Music Festival, but he is no newcomer to enjoying classical music. Geremy grew up deeply immersed in classical music: his mother was a performing/teaching Steinway Artist and his father was actively involved in amateur choirs and promoting music through the Aaron Copland Foundation. Geremy studied percussion from first grade through college, and recently resumed lessons with Ryan Sapp at the the Colorado Music Festival-affiliated Center for Musical Arts in Lafayette. “I love being part of the Colorado Music Festival and helping to promote classical music to new and existing audiences,” he said. “We are very fortunate to have this group in our community and its wonderful to be part of the organization.” Geremy provides photography for the Colorado Music Festival; his images are used for marketing and promotion, documenting the Festival brochures, and some social media. He also provides photographs to guest artists and orchestra members. Geremy has been involved with photography for decades, including working as a newspaper and freelance photographer after college. He enjoys many kinds of photography, especially travel, aviation, and wildlife. More of his work can be seen at www.ShinyMachines.

com. Geremy has lived in Boulder County since 1994 and also volunteers for Coal Creek Meals on Wheels. “I love volunteering for the Colorado Music Festival, Center for Musical Arts, and Coal Creek Meals on Wheels,” he noted. “I strongly believe in being a ‘Force of Positive Change in my Community.’ Being part of these non-profit, independent organizations is a wonderful way to share with people. And it’s also tremendous fun!”
Did You Know? Colorado Music Festival and Colorado Chautauqua Association are two distinct organizations, though we have a long-term partnership that began when the Festival was created in the 1970s.
