I

n a world where music weaves its way into the very fabric of life, there are people who make it their mission to bring symphonic music to the hearts of their community. Wilbur Lin, the new Assistant Conductor of the Colorado Symphony, is a maestro in the making, and his journey is one that resonates with the melody of determination, passion, and a deep love for music.

That journey began at home, where the sounds of music were a constant presence for a family united by a common love for music. His father’s role as a church choir conductor and his mother’s prowess on the piano set the stage for a firm musical foundation. Lin’s siblings added their own melodies, playing various instruments and lending their voices to the family’s harmonious ensemble. It was in this musical crucible that Wilbur took his first steps as a budding musician.

“Music was always part of my life growing up. I don’t have any relatives who were professional musicians, but my family was very musical,” Lin explains with a warm smile. “I started on the piano when I was five years old but always had this love-hate relationship with it. Gradually I found my love for and voice in the piano during my high school years.”

High school marked a turning point for Lin, as he not only discovered his passion for the piano but also fell head over heels for the grandeur of orchestral music. The orchestra’s captivating presence spoke to him in ways the piano alone couldn’t. Realizing the limitations of the piano for orchestra participation, Lin found a new avenue to express his musical aspirations: conducting.

“In high school, I came to find that pianists have limited opportunities to be part of the orchestra outside of a featured soloist role. But I quickly realized that I could be a key part of an orchestra by conducting,” he added. His journey into the orchestral world began with a modest yet ambitious step: organizing his first orchestral concert during his freshman year of college.

His college experience was a springboard and since then, Lin’s career has taken him to symphony halls and opera theaters across the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Taiwan. Before joining the Colorado Symphony, he served as pianist for the Indianapolis Opera (2018) and Assistant Conductor with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (20192022). He also made guest conducting debuts with the Taipei Symphony, Cincinnati Opera, Ann Arbor Symphony, and Rochester Philharmonic.

However, Lin’s musical odyssey took a significant turn when he had the opportunity to participate in Riccardo Muti’s Italian Opera Academy in Ravenna, Italy. Muti, one of the leading conductors in the world and the longtime music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, had a profound impact on Lin’s career.

Recalling the life-changing experience, Lin’s eyes light up with excitement. “Taking part in Riccardo Muti’s Italian Opera Academy and conducting Macbeth in the historical Alighieri Theatre, was a life-changing experience,” he shares with a touch of reverence.

For any conductor, the chance to work in Italy, the cradle of opera, is akin to stepping onto hallowed ground. “It was the first time I got to work at a very high level with great musicians who respected the traditions of opera, and its style yet were still open-minded and willing to work with me,” Lin reflects.

Back stateside, Lin concluded his tenure with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in 2022 and was appointed Music Director of the Missouri Symphony. But when the chance to come to Denver presented itself, he knew it was an opportunity he had to pursue.

“During my audition with the Colorado Symphony, I discovered an orchestra with such flexibility and character that it allowed me to effortlessly establish a connection with the musicians,” said Lin. Following a comprehensive international search and audition process, the Colorado Symphony and Denver Young Artists Orchestra (DYAO) hired Lin to their respective artistic staffs for the 2023/24 season. Lin serves as Assistant Conductor for the Colorado Symphony, leading many of the orchestra’s Family-Friendly and Community Education programs as well as special concerts like the orchestra’s October collaboration with Stewart Copeland from The Police. He also serves as Music Director for DYAO. “It is the best of both worlds,” he shares with pride. “I get to work at a high level with the symphony and the very talented young musicians of the DYAO.” For Lin, the joy of working with students is in their fresh perspective. That is especially true during the symphony’s numerous Youth Concerts throughout the season. Each year, more than 20,000 students in grades 3-12 visit Boettcher Concert Hall to engage with the Colorado Symphony. For many of those students, it is their first opportunity to see a live orchestral performance, and Lin understands the importance of good first impressions.

“The best part of working with students and young musicians is that they are often learning or hearing the pieces for the first time,” he explains. “Being able to share this music with people experiencing it live for the first time is an amazing feeling. The excitement level is just different when it’s the first go at a big piece.”

Lin’s appointment strengthens the already robust strategic alliance between the Colorado Symphony and DYAO which began in 2018, furthering the Colorado Symphony 16

dedication to music education while providing resources and access for DYAO musicians to the professional musicians of the Colorado Symphony. Lin sees music education and outreach as vital to the lives of young people and hopes to inspire the next generation by showing how music binds the world together.

“When programming music, for DYAO or any ensemble, I try to convey the connection between music and real life. Emotions can be communicated through music and it’s a language that speaks to all of us. In many ways, music can communicate what words cannot. But I also try to help people to really listen, not just to listen for pleasure but listen Photo by Amanda Tipton with intent. The ability to listen, analyze, and delay one’s response is a skill that I believe many people, including myself, are losing. As musicians, I believe our goal should be to build a community that knows how to listen. This guides what I do with my educational efforts, whether through performing on stage or working with young musicians directly.”

DYAO continues to transform young musicians by giving them the inspiration, support, and skills to launch a variety of careers, nurturing future professionals and growing the orchestral audiences of the future. Their connection with the Colorado Symphony has been enhanced over the years through annual side-by-side concerts. In addition, DYAO alumni can be found throughout the Colorado Symphony including current CSA musicians Larisa Fesmire, Marsha Holmes, Paul Naslund, and John Hilton.

“DYAO is thrilled to have found in Wilbur an energetic vision for community engagement, music education, and audience development,” said Kelly Waltrip, Executive Director for DYAO. “This joint position reflects the two organization’s shared mission to build and reimagine the future of live symphonic music and continue their commitments to music education.”

When it comes to conducting, Lin maintains a consistent approach, whether he’s working with seasoned professionals or nurturing young talents. “To me, there’s no difference in my approach,” he asserts. “I try to find ways to make music happen in an organic and empathetic way.”

However, his work with DYAO provides him with an extended canvas to nurture and educate budding musicians. “With DYAO, I do get more time to explore, to explain, and to really be part of the growth of the musicians,” Lin notes. “But the end goal, the approach, and the philosophy are all the same.”

In the ever-evolving landscape of classical music, Wilbur Lin stands as a conductor with a keen sense of the art form’s profound significance. Classical music, he believes, serves as a timeless bridge that connects people, transcending cultural boundaries, and resonating with universal emotions.

“Classical music is an art form that brings people together,” Lin says with a gleam in his eye. “The emotions conveyed through this shared common language allow us to see that, while we come from diverse cultural backgrounds, we share the same human emotions, thoughts, struggles, and hopes.”

Indeed, the role of classical music in modern society has been in a state of constant flux. As societal values shift, so does the role of classical music, and Lin understands the importance of adapting while preserving the essence of this art form.

“Music will continue to change as what we value as a society changes,” Lin acknowledges.

“The most important thing is how we continue to reflect the values we care about, the stories we want to tell, and the ideas we want to share.”

In his role as a conductor, Lin actively contributes to this evolution and hopes to be a part of concerts that find innovative ways to bring new audiences into the hall. By bridging the gap between tradition and innovation, he hopes that classical music remains relevant and accessible to all.

“A piece by Beethoven might be understood as a cry for freedom,” Lin muses. “A contemporary piece commissioned today might be about equality or social justice. A future concert might be about something we have yet to realize we care about. We will keep classical music relevant by being genuine and true to ourselves as concert programmers.”

In the hands of Wilbur Lin and conductors like him, classical music continues to be a dynamic, ever-evolving force that speaks to the human experience. It serves as a testament to the enduring power of music to transcend time, culture, and societal shifts.

Now in his role’s with the Colorado Symphony and the Denver Young Artists Orchestra, Lin remains dedicated to the art form he loves while helping to chart a dynamic future for orchestral music in Denver. He understands that, as the world changes, so too must the melodies and narratives that classical music offers, ensuring that it remains a vital, living entity that touches the hearts and minds of generations to come.

And for young musicians aspiring to follow in his footsteps, Lin offers sage advice.

“Make sure you truly love it,” he begins. “Once you decide you want to do this, work hard, be prepared, ask questions, be curious, and let your creativity shine!”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHAT IF I AM LATE? For the comfort and enjoyment of our musicians and patrons, late seating is at the discretion of the House Manager and takes place during pauses in the program. Ushers will let you know when you may enter the hall.

They may seat you in an area other than your ticketed seat so as to not disturb other patrons, and you may take your ticketed seat during intermission.

WHEN SHOULD I CLAP? During most Classics performances, there is a short, silent pause between each movement of a piece. You can determine how many movements there are in a piece, and how many silent pauses there will be, by looking at your program — the movements in each piece will be listed there. The applause is usually reserved for the end of the final movement of the piece, after the conductor has signaled the end of the final note with his or her baton or hand. Holding applause between movements is considered respectful of the performers' concentration and mindful of musical continuity.

WHAT IS YOUR CELL PHONE/PHOTO/ VIDEO POLICY? We ask that you please silence your cell phones and refrain from talking or texting on them during performances. Flash photography is prohibited at all times. We ask that you please refrain from taking any photos or video during Classics or Movie at the Symphony concerts unless the conductor is off the podium. During Symphony Pops concerts you may take pictures without a flash and may record short cell phone videos.

Please be courteous to your fellow concertgoers and be aware that if at any time your cell phone/camera use becomes a distraction to others, an usher may ask you to stop.

CAN I BRING FOOD OR DRINKS INTO THE CONCERT? You are welcome to bring drinks purchased at one of the bars into all concerts. Food is not allowed in the Hall, including food purchased in the Lobby.

CAN I BRING THE KIDS? Kids of all ages will enjoy our Family, education concerts, and many of our Symphony Pops, Holiday, and Summer concerts. All children require a ticket regardless of age, and child tickets are $10. Classics concerts tend to be between 2 and 21/2 hours long. Please consider this when deciding whether or not to bring your child. If your child is disturbing other patrons, an usher may ask you to take your child into the lobby for the remainder of the performance, without refund.

HOW LONG IS A TYPICAL CONCERT? Program length varies, but a typical performance lasts about two hours, including one 20 minute intermission. Visit the event page on our website, or flip to the performance details in this Soundings Magazine.

WHAT IF I’M UNABLE TO ATTEND MY PERFORMANCE? Subscribers may exchange tickets free of charge — one of many subscriber benefits!

Non-subscribers may exchange for an additional fee. You may exchange tickets in person, by phone, or online for another performance within the same season. There is an additional cost if seating upgrades apply, and all exchange requests are subject to availability. You may also donate your tickets back to the Colorado Symphony and receive a donation receipt.

WILBUR LIN, conductor Known for his creative programming and inviting stage presence, Wilbur Lin’s career has taken him to symphony halls and opera theaters across the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Taiwan. Recently appointed Music Director of the Missouri Symphony, Lin also joins the conducting staff of the Colorado Symphony as assistant conductor in 2023.

Lin’s 2022/23 season saw his debuts with the Rochester Philharmonic, Oak Ridge, Ann Arbor, and Elgin symphonies, and a return to Indiana’s Richmond Symphony. His other recent highlights include his debut with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, opening its 2021/22 season, a new studio recording with pianist Eric Zuber and the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, and conducting and covering the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops where he recently finished his tenure as assistant conductor (2019-2022).

In addition to his positions with the Colorado, Cincinnati, and Missouri symphonies, in recent years, Lin has conducted the Chamber Philharmonic Taipei, Manchester Camerata, Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil (El Salvador), Taipei Philharmonic, Taipei Symphony, Liverpool Mozart, Academy Orchestra of Taiwan Symphony, Richmond Symphony (IN), and LaPorte Symphony orchestras. As a cover conductor, Lin has worked with, notably, the Taiwan Symphony, Cincinnati Ballet, and Minnesota orchestras. In his role as the assistant conductor of the Colorado Symphony, Lin also serves as the Music Director of the Denver Young Artists Orchestra.

A graduate of Riccardo Muti‘s Italian Opera Academy, Lin’s operatic endeavors include conducting Verdi’s Macbeth at Teatro Alighieri (Ravenna, Italy), Die Zauberflöte and Barber of Seville with the Winter Harbor Music Festival (Winter Harbor, Maine), Menotti’s The Medium and Amelia Goes to the Ball as the conductor of Northern Illinois University (Dekalb, IL), and has coached and performed as a pianist with the Indianapolis Opera, Indiana University Opera Theater, Reimagining Opera for Kids, and the Cincinnati Ballet. In 2022, Lin led a new workshop production of Robeson by Scott Davenport Richards at the Cincinnati Opera.

Lin held the position of Taiwan Symphony Orchestra International Talent Fellow (2019-2021), Weiwuyin Opera (Taiwan) Conducting Fellow (2019-2020), Lord Rhodes Scholar (2013-2014), was a two-time recipient of Mortimer Furber Prize for Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM), and holds a doctoral degree in orchestral conducting from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. Lin has studied with Arthur Fagen and David Effron at Jacobs, Clark Rundell and Mark Heron at the RNCM, and Apo Hsu at the National Taiwan Normal University.

He has also received conducting coaching with, notably, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Riccardo Muti, Sir Mark Elder, Helmuth Rilling, and has assisted Louis Langrée, James Gaffigan, and John Morris Russell, among others.

SPOTLIGHT BIOGRAPHIES JULIE BRADLEY, vocalist Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Julie Bradley graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Music Education from Wichita State University. Prior to joining the U.S. Air Force in 1999 she was a vocal music director at both the middle and high school levels. For the majority of her career she was assigned to The United States Air Force Academy Band and performed with many groups including Blue Delta, The Falconaires, Galaxy Brass, Blue Steel, Wild Blue Country, Clarinet Quartet, Stellar Brass, Concert Band & Marching Band. From 2015 to 2018 she was assigned to U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific in Tokyo, Japan where she served as vocalist and Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Pacific Trends. She deployed to Southwest Asia in 2008 and again in 2017 in support of troop morale and diplomatic relations in the region.

During her career, she has performed extensively in the United States and abroad appearing in 45 states & 30 countries. In addition, she was a featured soloist with American Idol winner Kris Allen and finalist Melinda Doolittle, the Air Capital Big Band, Wichita State University Jazz Arts Ensemble, The Wichita Jazz Festival, The University of Kansas Jazz Singers, The Mid-Atlantic Symphony, and The Colorado Springs Philharmonic. In 2021 she retired from the U.S. Air Force and is working as a freelance vocalist and Corporate Wellness Specialist.

POPS BIOGRAPHIES CHRISTOPHER DRAGON, conductor Australian conductor Christopher Dragon is the Music Director of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra and Resident Conductor of the Colorado Symphony. He joined the Colorado Symphony in the 2015/2016 Season as Associate Conductor – a position he held for four years. For three years prior, Dragon held the inaugural position of Assistant Conductor with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, which gave him the opportunity to work closely with Principal Conductor Asher Fisch.

Dragon has a versatile portfolio ranging from live-to-picture performances including Nightmare Before Christmas, Toy Story and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, a wide variety of collaborations with artists such as the Wu-Tang Clan, Cynthia Erivo and Joshua Bell, to standard and contemporary orchestral repertoire such as Danny Elfman’s Violin Concerto, Eleven Eleven; all areas of which he has become highly sought after. Christopher has become known for his charisma, high energy and affinity for a good costume, consistently delivering unforgettable performances that has made him an audience favourite.

Recent highlights include his successful debut with the San Francisco Symphony, performances of Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton with Danny Elfman reprising the role of Jack Skellington and historic performances with Nathaniel Rateliff at Walt Disney Concert Hall and David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center. Upcoming debuts include the WRD Funkhausorchester, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Greensboro Symphony Orchestra.

Christopher is highly sought after as a guest conductor and has worked with San Francisco Symphony, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, San Diego Symphony, Utah Symphony, Omaha Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Chicago Philharmonic, Modesto Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. In Australia, he has guest conducted the Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and West Australian Symphony Orchestras.

His 2015 debut performance at the Sydney Opera House with John Pyke and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra was released on album by ABC Music and won an ARIA the following year He has also conducted at numerous festivals including the Breckenridge and Bangalow Music Festivals, with both resulting in immediate re-invitations. At the beginning of 2016 Dragon conducted Wynton Marsalis’ Swing Symphony as part of the Perth International Art Festival alongside Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.

Christopher began his conducting studies in 2011 and was a member of the prestigious Symphony Services International Conductor Development Program in Australia under the guidance of course director Christopher Seaman. He has also studied with numerous distinguished conductors including Leonid Grin, Paavo and Neeme Jarvi at the Jarvi Summer Festival, Fabio Luisi at the Pacific Music Festival and conducting pedagogue Jorma Panula.

POPS BIOGRAPHIES PAUL LOREN, vocals Leading a new generation of soulful crooners, Paul Loren is a singer, songwriter, producer and consummate entertainer.

A native New Yorker, Paul was raised on the rich legacy of soul, classic pop, and the Great American Songbook and in those musical idioms he feels most at home. Taking elements from early R&B, jazz and Brill Building pop, he crafts his music with an ear towards timelessness.

“I started singing at 3 years old along with the little 45rpm records my mom would play and started playing piano at 4 years old. The voices I remember most and identify with are Ray Charles, Frankie Valli, Sam Cooke, Sinatra, Aretha, Otis, and Tony Bennett. Growing up in New York, Billy Joel was also a big influence.”

Paul recently completed his first headline tour in 2019, also having performed in the past as a support artist for: The Temptations, as part of Stamford’s Summer Concert Series “Wednesday Night Live”, Brendan James, American Idol Winner Taylor Hicks, David Bromberg, and sold out Joe’s Pub at the Public in NYC multiple times. Paul was also selected by Jennifer Lopez to perform at her Birthday Gala in Las Vegas, showcased at The SoHo House NYC, was a featured artist at the AAA Radio Convention in Boulder Colorado, and shared the stage with Paul Shaffer, Queen Latifah, and Christie Brinkley at Target’s launch event for New York Fashion Week.

Paul’s appearance on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” showcased his talents for millions of viewers; with a winning song and viral video to boot. In addition, Paul landed his first television sync recently on NBC’s “Mysteries of Laura”, performed on the Nationally Syndicated Radio Show America Weekend with Ed Kalegi, has partnered with The Ryan Seacrest Foundation, showcased at the headquarters of the world-renowned Leo Burnett Ad in Chicago, and had the unique honor of performing at the legendary STAX Museum in Memphis Tennessee. While in Memphis, Paul had the rare opportunity to record in the world-renowned Sun Studio in the same room as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and so many other pioneers of Rock and Roll. Paul was also a finalist in the “Unsigned Only” singer songwriter competition for 2018.

His debut single “All By Myself ” was supported by radio stations Lighting100 in Nashville, SiriusXM’s The Pulse, WCOO Charleston and KPND Spokane, among others. His follow up single, titled “I Know A Place” premiered on Huffington Post and received rave reviews along with over 200K views in its first week.

Paul’s latest single, “We’ll Be Together Again,” written and recorded at home during the early spring of 2020, continues to be a beacon of hope for those affected by the uncertainty of a tumultuous year. All of the proceeds from the song have been sent to a COVID-19 relief charity.

During the pandemic’s first wave, Paul’s weekly online music show —“The Leisure Lounge”— was live streamed from his home in NYC and ran for 15 consecutive weeks, broadcasting to thousands of viewers around the world.

POPS BIOGRAPHIES COLIN SMITH, vocals With a career spanning over 20 years, Irish born Colin Smith has led a musical life as varied as it is impressive. With his former band Mr North, while on RCA, they toured extensively with the likes of The Who, Van Halen, Sheryl Crow and Journey among many others. As a solo artist, songs from his two records have been licensed to movies and TV alike. Colin has been seen in live collaborations with Alicia Keys and has worked multiple times on Saturday Night Live as the featured vocal talent. Colin has been most recently been seen touring with Christina Aguilera, duetting with her on the GRAMMY winning Say Something to audiences across the globe, as well as performing background vocals for the show. Colin splits his time between NYC and LA.

(Emerson Colonial), In The Green (Lincoln Center Theatre), Lempicka (developmental lab), Witness Uganda (Wallis Annenberg Center). As a composer, she has been featured at 54 Below and NYMF. She also moonlights as a software engineer, and is currently working on SPIRITED, a Christmas movie featuring Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, and Octavia Spencer.

POPS BIOGRAPHIES BRIAN KILLEEN, bass Brian Killeen is a NYC bassist that has enjoyed performing with many inspiring artists. Some of his favorite musical situations have included sharing stages with Chuck Loeb, Jarle Bernhoft, Liz Longley, A Great Big World, and Joe Sumner, as well as various on and off-Broadway theatrical productions. He is thrilled to be a part of Revolution: The Music of The Beatles.

OSCAR RODRIGUEZ, guitar Oscar Albis Rodriguez is a producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. He grew up in Rhode Island, graduated with a jazz guitar degree from NYU, and made Brooklyn his home base in 2000. Since then he’s played every DIY venue and basement in North America with his punk/hardcore bands De La Hoya and Nakatomi Plaza, freelanced with innumerable NYC singer/songwriters and bands, performed in Broadway musicals (most notably Hedwig & The Angry Inch), and toured the world with the Grammy Award winning duo A Great Big World.

Oscar started producing and engineering at Russell Street Recording in 2013, and soon after began collaborating with Zach Jones. Since then, the two have played in each other’s bands (Albis and Zach Jones & The Tricky Bits) and have co-produced records for artists such as Jenny Owen Youngs, Elizabeth Wyld, Hannah Winkler, Talay, Jesse Dylan & The Scaredy Cats, and A Great Big World. On his own, Oscar’s production credits include Jukebox The Ghost, Jon The Guilt, and Rikki Will. He’s also written and produced hundreds of songs for the YouTube Audio Library, the Facebook Sound Collection, Marmoset Music, Premium Beat, and is a co-founder of the music/media collective Track Tribe.

JON EPCAR, drums Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jon Epcar is a drummer and a composer.

Jon has worked with many artists, including Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Rihanna, Bono, Gavin Degraw, Colbie Caillat, Natasha Bedingfield, Carly Rae Jepsen, The 8G Band on Seth Meyers, Klangkarussell, Cristian Castro, Frances Cone, Madison Beer, Katie Melua, Evan Rachel Wood, SYML, Diane Gordon, Jesse James, Joan Osborne, John Cameron Mitchell, Taryn Manning, and Danielia Cotton, among others. On Broadway, he originated the drum chairs for Spider-Man, Amelie, and Tina Fey’s Mean Girls. He has worked with multiple symphony orchestras, including the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. Jon’s debut album as a songwriter, bandleader, and producer, MORNING DRONE, was released in 2017, with his sophomore release, Solo Duo Toot released in 2021. Jon appreciates the great people at Paiste Cymbals, Craviotto Drums, Vic Firth Drumsticks, Reflexx Drumpads, and Aquarian Drumheads for their support and incredible craftsmanship.

THE COLORADO SYMPHONY’S WEBSITE, coloradosymphony.org, provides information on all Colorado Symphony activities at Boettcher Concert Hall and other venues around Colorado including performances at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, the Arvada Center for the Performing Arts, and more.

Other venues may require the use of another ticketing source; however, you will always be directed to the official ticketing agent or source by using coloradosymphony.org/navigation.

LATE SEATING: In consideration of our musicians, guest artists, crew, staff, and your fellow patrons, late seating is at the discretion of the House Manager and takes place during pauses in the program. Ushers will let you know when you may enter the hall. They may seat you in an area other than your ticketed seat so as to not disturb other patrons, and you may take your ticketed seat during intermission.

NO SMOKING: Boettcher Concert Hall is a smoke free venue. Any and all forms of smoking are prohibited in the venue.

NO FILMING: Audio or video recording devices, GoPros, professional cameras, or cameras with removable lenses are not allowed in the hall.

SECURITY: In furtherance of Denver Arts & Venues ongoing initiative to create a safe and secure environment for all patrons and employees of the Denver Performing Arts Complex, the Colorado Symphony Association is pleased to partner with the Denver Performing Arts Complex on the newlyintroduced security measures for Boettcher Concert Hall and all venues within the complex.

We encourage you to arrive up to 45 minutes prior to the start of your event. This will alleviate congestion in all walk ways and entrances and will allow for proper screening. To review the full policy and prohibited items, please visit artscomplex.com.

In the event of a building emergency patrons will be notified by an announcement from the stage. Should the building need to be evacuated, please exit the nearest door, or according to instructions given from stage.

FIRST AID FACILITIES for all patrons are available. Please inquire with an usher should you need these facilities or assistance. Please report any accidents, falls, or lost items to an usher promptly.

ELEVATOR is located within the venue after passing through security and having your ticket scanned. Please follow the signs to the southeast end of the main lobby. The elevator is to the left of the entrance of Gallery 1 on the first level of the lobby.

COAT CHECK is located underneath the main lobby stairs in the hallway leading to Gallery 1.

BAR SERVICE is provided at most concerts.

Concessions are managed by Centerplate.

The Colorado Symphony reserves the right to change the concessions policy at any time.

The Colorado Symphony Association does not manage concessions, ordering, or realize profit from concessions.

LOST AND FOUND items should be reported promptly to the House Manager, via an usher, or directly. Lost items are kept by the usher staff until the end of the performance. After the performance items are taken to Arts & Venues Lost and Found. If attempting to claim lost property during or shortly after your performance, please see an usher. If you’ve left the hall and have a lost item, please call 720.865.4200.

THE GUILD SHOP: Located in Gallery 1 on the first floor of Boettcher Concert Hall, The Shop (as it's affectionately known) is the perfect place to pick up unique gifts, seasonal fashions, and of course recordings produced by, and of, the Colorado Symphony.
