Lisa Rigsby Peterson, Executive Director, helped open the Lone Tree Arts Center in 2011 as its first Executive Director. Over her thirty-one year career in performing arts management, she has been a part of many of Colorado’s leading cultural organizations—including The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Curious Theatre Company, and PHAMALY; served on multiple arts and cultural boards and committees, and also worked abroad. A Colorado resident since 1975, Lisa is a graduate of the University of Colorado and the Yale School of Drama.
Paul Ackerman, Technical Director, is a native of Long Island, NY. Paul received his degree in Technical Theatre and Design from the University of Virginia. He has worked in Atlanta with The Alliance Theatre/Atlanta Children’s Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. Paul joined the team at LTAC prior to its opening in 2011 after serving as the Senior General Manager of Production for Blue Man Group.
Courtney Ozaki Moch, Operations and Business Director, returned to her home state of Colorado after residing in New York City, where she received her MFA degree in Performing Arts Management from Brooklyn College. As a producer and arts manager in NYC, she worked with cultural and interdisciplinary institutions, including the inaugural PROTOTYPE festival, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, and The Joyce Theater. Her prior experience includes work with the Aspen Music Festival, as well as the Boulder Chamber Orchestra.
Leigh Chandler, Marketing Director, joined the Lone Tree Arts Center staff in the fall of 2015, when she moved to Colorado. Prior to her move, she served as the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts in Burlington, Vermont for eight years. Leigh grew up outside of New York City and is a graduate of Cornell University.

At Your Service The House Manager is responsible for the overall front-of-house operation. Ushers (dressed in white and black with green scarves/ ties) can direct patrons who have questions or concerns to the House Manager.
Late arrivals will be seated at a suitable break in the performance, and at the discretion of the house manager and/or artist. Late seating may not be possible in some cases. In consideration of all theater-goers, please arrive in plenty of time for the scheduled curtain.
Cameras and recording devices are not allowed in the theater. The taking of photos during a performance may violate our contract with the performers and producers. In addition it can distract performers and negatively affect their safety and the show. Pre- and post-show photography also is not permitted. Cell phones and any other electronic devices may not be used in the theater. The use of a laser pointer at any time by any patron subjects that patron to expulsion from the theater without a ticket refund.

Children are welcome in our theater, but bringing infants to a performance is highly discouraged, as they can become a distraction to performers and other audience members. Each individual must be ticketed to enter the theater and no babes-in-arms will be permitted. The Arts Center may deny entry to any person accompanied by another who may become a disruption to the performers or audience, and may likewise remove disruptive patrons from the audience. Occasionally, individual productions may have recommended age limits. It is always up to the parent/guardian to make the determination if an event is age appropriate for his/her child. Refunds are at the discretion of the Lone Tree Arts Center Box Office.
The Lone Tree Arts Center is a smoke-free facility. Smoking e-cigarettes is not permitted inside the building.

Parking The Lone Tree Arts Center has a large, free on-site parking lot as well as a convenient drop-off point at the front entry. The parking lot can be found on the south side of the building. Patrons are also permitted to park across Sky Ridge Avenue in the Target parking lot.
Hearing Assistance The Lone Tree Arts Center has installed an inductive hearing loop. The loop system broadcasts directly into hearing aids that are equipped with a T-coil switch (tele-coil or telephone switch). For hearing aids with a T-coil switch, simply turn that switch and sound is broadcast directly to the hearing aid. For hearing aids without a T-coil switch, wireless headset receivers are also available free of charge at the Box Office.

THEATRICAL PERFORMACE
Even if you have never been to Muscle Shoals, Alabama, you have definitely heard its sound. Over the years, scores of musicians such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Wilson Pickett, Mac Davis, Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, the Rolling Stones, and even the Black Keys, made the trip to Muscle Shoals, and the music they recorded transformed it from a little-known town to a recording artist’s mecca. This February, you’ll have the chance to experience the playlist of classics that originated in the now-famous locale, with the world-premiere of Muscle Shoals: I’ll Take You There.
Travel with us on a musical journey to the place where scores of memorable recorded hits came to life. We are recreating the feel of iconic recording houses FAME Studio and the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, and we’ll introduce you to the studio band of local players who came together and created the ‘swampy’ rhythm. As word spread, the group gained a following of big-name artists who came to town, putting Muscle Shoals and its unique sound on the popular music map. Remember the cool beat of the Staple Singers’ chart-topping tune “I’ll Take You There,” which inspired the show’s name? Just a few years later, the group was immortalized as The Swampers in the lyrics of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s classic “Sweet Home Alabama.” Their classic sound can also be heard on tracks like “Mustang Sally” by Wilson Pickett, “Respect” by Aretha Franklin, and “Tell Mama” by Etta James. Muscle Shoals: I’ll Take You There, is created and directed by Arts Center favorite Randal Myler. He’ll be joined by another Arts Center favorite, Danny Wheetman, as Musical Director. You’ll remember Danny from John Denver Holiday Concert and Big River. The band includes Tonynominated Felicia Fields, who took over Oprah Winfrey’s role in The Color Purple on Broadway, as well as Sonny Charles, who was the lead singer of the Checkmates, Ltd. in the ‘60s and ‘70s and has toured with the Steve Miller Band. You won’t want to miss that “Old Time Rock and Roll”—and the stories behind all the music— of Muscle Shoals: I’ll Take You There!

The HillBenders While the idea of a bluegrass version of TOMMY might seem farfetched, once you start listening, it’ll make sense. Many people know the songs from the rock opera about a deaf, dumb, and blind boy who plays a mean pinball. “Pinball Wizard” was one of the The Who’s greatest hits, and in 2003, Rolling Stone magazine ranked TOMMY number 96 on its list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Why do a bluegrass version? The idea came to one of the founders of South by Southwest (SXSW), held in Austin, TX every year. The late musician and producer Louis Meyers had been thinking about a bluegrass TOMMY for a while, and when he saw the HillBenders perform, he knew they were the right band for the job. He was particularly interested in them because of Nolan Lawrence, a mandolinist whose vocals seemed like a great fit, and Jim Rea, the guitarist who arranged the music. Lawrence said, “I think we were all hungry at the chance to do something, first of all with Louis ‘cause he’s got

tons of cred in the industry, and he wanted to back the project and be a part of it. And then once we started to do a couple of the songs, it just felt good, it felt right. And I think everybody kind of latched on and said, ‘OK, this is real, this could work.’” And work, it does! The music has gotten rave reviews from Rolling Stone, The Huffington Post, and even Pete Townshend himself. We guarantee you will be on your feet, singing along by the end of the concert! Will Barrow is a pianist and singer-songwriter who writes, performs, and records in a variety of styles. Will has toured with artists such as Crystal Gayle, BeBe Winans, Suzy Bogguss, Larry Gatlin, Steve Wariner, Wanda Jackson, and Alison Brown. He won a Grammy for his instrumental contribution to the compilation Beautiful Dreamer – The Songs of Stephen Foster. He has appeared on recordings by Gilbert O’Sullivan, the Indigo Girls, Colin Hay, Ms. Bogguss, Ms. Gayle, Rosie Flores, and the Gatlin Brothers. His last Denver theatrical appearance was at the Denver Center in 2004, in Gregory Porter’s Nat King Cole and Me. Will was conductor for the two national touring companies of The Civil War in 2000 and 2001. Will’s eclectic style as a singer-songwriter are featured on his CDs Find a Way and State of Grace. His latest project is a show called Wille B’s Pianimals, a collection of piano-driven songs about animals, with puppets. Will lives in Nashville with his wife Heather, and young sons Levon and Willie. Tennessee Campbell, born and raised in Nashville, is no stranger to great music. Growing up in a musical household he began playing at a very early age, and has never stopped pursuing music. He has performed with many different musical groups and artists including national award-winning jazz bands, Nashville recording artists, and other world-renowned musicians. Campbell is very excited to be playing the music of legendary Muscle Shoals musicians, and is looking forward to what comes next in his musical career. Lannie Counts was born and raised in Phoenix Arizona. 20 years ago, Lannie moved to Las Vegas, NV. He has been singing and performing since the age of 12, and Lannie continues to uphold a standard of excellence in vocal performance. Through many show bands and shows in both Phoenix and Las
Vegas, Lannie’s talent and ability continues to thrive. Lannie is a current member of the legendary Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns, whose groundbreaking virtual concert on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas has garnered widespread acclaim. He is also a member of the Lon Bronson All Star Band, as well as The Las Vegas Tenors traveling the world primarily on Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, and at the Suncoast in Las Vegas. Felicia Fields is best known for her Tony Award nomination and many other awards for originating the role of Sofia in the original Broadway production of The Color Purple, produced by Ms. Oprah Winfrey. She has been working in the Midwest and around the country for about 30 years in productions such as Dreamgirls, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, The Wiz, Hello Dolly!, Carousel, Hairspray, Seven Guitars, A Christmas Carol, Measure for Measure, Once On This Island, Big River, Nunsense, and Ain’t Misbehavin’, among others. Ms. Fields received several Joseph Jefferson Awards, including one for Sophisticated Ladies. She works with The Smiley Tillmon Band and Shake Anderson’s band when not doing theater, and she performed for The Chicago Blues Festival in 2014 and 2015. Film and television credits include Save the Last Dance, Doubt, The Knights of Prosperity, and Early Edition, as well as the recent Chicago Fire, Sense8, and Who Gets the Dog?, which premieres next year. Ms. Fields also does commercials and voiceovers.
Steve Forrest is originally from Memphis, Tennessee. Steve started playing around with one of his father’s basses when he was really young and never stopped. He has played professionally since he was 17 and not old enough to be in the clubs in which he was playing. Steve has played live and on recordings ranging from the Blues/Soul/Americana/Country styles featuring Tony Joe White, Shelby Lynne, Lee Ann Womack, and many others, to the Funk/R&B/ Jazz/Fusion styles featuring the Wooten Brothers, virtuoso jam band Eclectica (featuring world renown musicians Tracy Silverman and Roy “Futureman” Wooten), The Jody Nardone Trio, and many notable others. Steve is a working/touring/studio/live/all around in the trenches bass player. Charlton James is an Associate Professor of Theatre in the Department of Entertainment Industry at the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama and serves as the theatre program’s artistic director and coordinator. He teaches in the areas of stage and camera acting, voice and movement, script analysis, and theater appreciation. Charlton was the 2011-2012 recipient of UNA’s Academic Affairs Outstanding Teaching Award and honored by UNA as a distinguished faculty member in 2012. Since 2011, Charlton has served as the artistic director of UNA Summer Theatre, a university program that brings in distinguished professional theatre artists to collaborate with theatre students on a full-scale theater production. He also serves as an acting company member of the summer program and has portrayed such roles as Biff in Death of a Salesman, Mitch in A Streetcar Named Desire, Hoss in Hank Williams: Lost Highway, Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps, and Austin in True West. Most recently Charlton was featured at Florence, Alabama’s W.C. Handy Music Festival in UNA Summer Theatre’s original production of I’ll Take You There: The Music of Muscle Shoals and is honored to reprise the role at here at Lone Tree Arts Center. Charlton received a B.F.A. in theatre with an emphasis
in acting from the University of Utah and a M.F.A. in theatre with an emphasis in classical acting from the Alabama Shakespeare Festival/ University of Alabama. Before pursuing a career in education, his acting credits included roles at The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington DC, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Syracuse Stage, Capitol Repertory Theater, and Salt Lake Shakespeare. David Miles Keenan is a composer, singer, instrumentalist, and teacher. His theater credits include John Denver Holiday Concert (Seattle Rep and Lone Tree Arts Center), Mama Hated Diesels (Denver Center), Woody Guthrie, American Songs (Arizona Theater Company), A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline (Oregon Cabaret Theater), The Half-penny Opera (Jewelbox Theater), and Seesaw (Jewelbox). David is also the co-composer of the new score to the film The Adventures of Prince Achmed. His original music has been used in the films A Wink and a Smile and For My Wife. Dan Wheetman has been collaborating with Randal Myler for over 25 years. He returns to LTAC after leading the musicians in Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Hank Williams: Lost Highway, and the 2012 and 2015 John Denver Holiday Concert. He has appeared in productions across the US as an actor and musician. He has written several plays with Myler, including It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues, Appalachian Strings, Fire On The Mountain, Mama Hated Diesels, and Lowdown Dirty Blues. He has garnered several LA Critics’ Circle awards for Musical Direction and a Tony nomination as a writer for It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues at Lincoln Center in New York. Along
with his theater work, Dan has recorded several solo albums and plays in a very eclectic band, Marley’s Ghost. Michael R. Duran, Scenic Designer, is a native of Denver and has worked as Actor, Stage Manager, Scenic Designer, Playwright, Director, and Teacher in theater and film for over forty years here and across the country. As Scenic Designer, Michael has won awards for his designs of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead from the Kennedy Center and the Meterie Award for his design of Lend Me a Tenor. Won the 2014 True West Award for his design of Venus in Fur for Curious Theatre Company and the Henry Award for Best Scenic Design of 2015 for his design of The Explorers Club for the Lone Tree Arts Center. Michael is also known locally for his directing of Doubt: A Parable, Agnes of God, Parallel Lives, and Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Michael directed Dancing at Lughnasa for the Hunger Artists Ensemble winner of the Denver Drama Critics Circle award for Best Production. Michael is the recipient of the Denver Post’s 2004 Theatre Person of the Year award. He is a graduate of Loretto Heights College BA 1977 and Tulane University MFA 2009. Brian Freeland, Sound and Projection Designer, has designed sounds and projections regionally for Curious Theatre Company, The Denver Center Theatre Company, Town Hall Arts Center, The Aurora Fox, and The Catamounts. He makes his return to the Lone Tree Arts Center after his previous sound design work on The Explorers Club (Henry Award Nominee for Outstanding Sound Design), 39 Steps, Sylvia, and Bunnicula. He is a 10 time Henry Award nominee, 14 time Ovation/True West Award nominee and Westword Mastermind Award recipient for his sound work. He was the Artistic Director of The LIDA Project a Denver media-based theater company from 1995-2015. Brian received his education from the University of Colorado at Denver and The American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
Jen Kiser, Lighting Designer, is the Assistant Technical Director at LTAC. Previous designs have been seen at Goodspeed Musicals (Meet John Doe, Caraboo, Princess of Javasu), Hartford’s TheaterWorks (Fully Committed), Wadsworth Atheneum (Sister Mozart with Haley Mills), Lone Tree Arts Center (It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Cyrano, Reunion ’85, The Explorers Club, 39 Steps, Guys and Dolls in Concert, Big River, South Pacific in Concert, Bunnicula, Home for the Holidays, Sylvia, Hank Williams: Lost Highway, John Denver Holiday Concert, Alexander and the Terrible… Day), Arvada Center (How I Became a Pirate), and the Mizel Arts and Culture Center (The Value of Names). She has worked for the Guggenheim Museum, and assisted designers at venues including Papermill Playhouse, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center Festival, and on Broadway’s By Jeeves. Randal Myler, Director, is one of Lone Tree’s favorite directors, leading the highly successful runs of It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, The Explorers Club, Big River, Sylvia, Hank Williams: Lost Highway, and the 2012 and 2015 John Denver Holiday Concert. He received a Tony Award nomination (Best Musical/Best Book of a Musical) and a Drama Desk nomination (Best Musical Revue) for It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues, which he staged at both NYC’s Lincoln Center and Broadway’s Ambassador Theatre. Love, Janis, Randy’s musical biography of Janis Joplin, reached over 700 performances at the former Village Gate, while his highly-successful musical Hank Williams: Lost Highway has been performed both Off-Broadway (garnering him a Best
Director nomination from the Outer Critic’s Circle) and throughout the US, as has his coal mining musical (co-written with Dan Wheetman), Fire On The Mountain, which received five Joseph Jefferson Awards in Chicago. His many regional directorial credits also include both the Kennedy Center and Arena Stage in Washington D.C., both the Mark Taper Forum and the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles, the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Arizona Theater Company, Denver Center, Dallas Theater Center, Houston’s Alley Theater, Seattle Repertory Theater, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, San Diego’s Old Globe Theater, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Cincinnati Playhouse, Chicago’s Royal George, Northlight Theater, and many others. Lyle Raper, Stage Manager, has stage managed productions of Lost Highway and The Explorers Club here at the Lone Tree Arts Center. She worked on the original production of I’ll Take You There in Florence, AL last summer. Lyle served as PSM for 27 seasons at the Denver Center Theatre Company, until 2010. Other theaters include PCPA/Solvang Theatrefest, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Shakespeare in Santa Fe, the Mark Taper Forum, and Lizard Head Theatre Company. She was one of three stage managers on the international tour of Tantalus, in cooperation with the RSC, which performed in the United Kingdom. Lyle has taught stage management classes at DU and Southwestern University. She currently serves on the board of Georgetown Festival of the Arts.

Jamie Horton It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is a homecoming of sorts for actor Jamie Horton. After spending over 20 years as principal actor with the Denver Center Theatre Company, Horton headed east ten years ago to teach at Dartmouth College. His ties to Denver run deep, and since the move, he’s been able to visit around the holidays to perform in Stories on Stage. This year, he’s thrilled to be back for an extended run at the Lone Tree Arts Center. Horton was attracted to the family of people who would be working on the show, including Randy Myler (director) and other great friends in the cast. He says that the story itself—as it does for so many other people—holds a special place in his heart at this time of year. “I’ve always been a huge fan of Jimmy Stewart’s,” Horton says, “And George Bailey’s journey in that story, and the affirmation that life matters deeply and consequentially, is something that resonates deeply with me.” Life at Dartmouth is different than it was when Horton lived in Denver. He loves working with

undergraduates, as well as the exceptional faculty and staff; it keeps him very alive creatively. He also works with Northern Stage, a professional theater close to home. In October, he played George Orwell in Orwell in America at 59E59 Theaters in New York City. This new play was first read at Northern Stage and then given a full production there. Last here with Creede Repertory’s Unnecessary Farce, Horton says he’s thrilled to be back in Lone Tree with this special project. “As I’ve told others, the sight of the Rocky Mountains always touches us specially—a reminder and confirmation that Denver will always remain a ‘home’ for us.” We’re thrilled too, and we look forward to seeing Jamie back on the Colorado stage!

“ Don’t cry for me, Argentina.” It’s a line that many of us know, whether it’s being belted on Broadway by Tony Award-winner Patti LuPone’s lips or we’re watching Madonna sing it from our seats in the movie theater. EVITA is the beloved Broadway musical turned movie that follows the Argentinian second wife of ruler Juan Perón, from her early life, to her rise as a political figure, to her untimely death at the age of thirty-three. An illegitimate fifteen year old, Eva escaped her dirt-poor existence for the bright lights of Buenos Aires. Driven by ambition and blessed with charisma, she was a starlet at twenty-two, the president’s mistress at twenty-four, First
