THE ROADS crossing the tidy countryside of southern Piedmont are an inviting prelude to the ambiance that you will breathe in Strevi. In 1979, just over one year after John and Harry Mariani founded Castello Banfi vineyard estate in Montalcino, they acquired the historical winery known as Bruzzone. The estate, situated between the cities of Novi Ligure and Acqui, lies across 50 hectares of land, 46 of which are dedicated to noble vines. Banfi Piemonte has reflected constant growth from the beginning, guided by a vocation to combine authenticity and innovation in producing sparkling wines of the highest quality. The wisdom of this choice has been confirmed by gratifying results, above all by the wines made in the Metodo Classico as well as those vinified by Charmat.

THE WINERY recently completely restored and renovated, was conceived to both preserve and exalt the character and typicity of our grapes. In addition to an area dedicated to the production of Charmat wines, the heart of the cellar is dedicated to the Metodo Classico production. Row upon row of inverted bottles rest on pupitres as the yeast inside collects and imparts character to the wine.

ROSA REGALE BRACHETTO D’ACQUI DOCG Vinified from Brachetto grapes grown in the single “La Rosa” vineyard, located in the town of Acqui Terme, the very heart of the historical area of Brachetto.
GRAPE VARIETIES Brachetto 100%. PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE Cold red-grapes skin contact for 4 to 5 days allows the wine to develop its characteristic colour, aroma and complexity. The wine is then filtered and stored at 0°C. Refermentation follows in stainless steel tanks in the Strevi cellars, where this special wine achieves its final sweetness and sparkling chatacter. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: light ruby red. Lively pink mousse with a persistent perlage. BOUQUET: intense, aromatic, varietal with hints of Bulgarian rose. TASTE: soft and elegant with berry flavours and a touch of almond and nutmeg. WINEMAKER’S NOTES A soft red sparkling wine, made from Brachetto. This extremely aromatic, complex and historical grape variety
grows only in the area of Acqui Terme, in Southern Piedmont. The cold maceration of the grapes, followed by a soft pressing, allows the extraction of the typical intense aromas from the skins and gives to the wine its characteristic light ruby red colour. Very pleasant and extremely elegant. FOOD PAIRINGS This wine matches perfectly with fresh strawberries, fruit cakes, fruit salads, pastries and chocolates. An ideal aperitif as well. BANFI BRUT METODO CLASSICO Vinified at our Banfi Piemonte estate cellars in Strevi, where Metodo Classico sparkling wines have been crafted since 1860.
GRAPE VARIETIES Traditional cuvée of: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE Fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Classical Method. Yeast contact for at least 24 months is followed by traditional hand riddling (remuage) on pupitres and dégorgement à la glace. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: pale straw, with tiny and persistent perlage. BOUQUET: intense and fragrant. TASTE: refreshing, crisp, with gentle acidity, harmonious and well balanced. Flavorful with a dry finish.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES Thanks to the most careful grape selection, this cuvée of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, captures at its best the freshness of these varieties, season after season. CUVÉE AURORA ALTA LANGA DOCG TALENTO METODO CLASSICO Vinified at Banfi Piemonte estate cellars in Strevi, this elegant wine is the expression of the Alta Langa project.
GRAPE VARIETIES Pinot noir (70%) and Chardonnay (30%). All grapes are selected and hand-picked in hilltop Piedmontese vineyards located in the provinces of Cuneo, Asti and Alessandria. PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE Soft pressing of the grapes is followed by clarification of the must and by fermentation at controlled temperatures. 10% of the cuvée consists of the previous vintage wine, aged in barrique. Fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Classical Method. Yeast contact is extended for at least 30 months followed by traditional hand riddling (remuage) on pupitres and dégorgement à la glace. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: pale gold colour with tiny and persistent perlage. BOUQUET: intense and fragrant with notes of yeast and vanilla. TASTE: on the palate the wine is well balanced with gentle acidity and harmonious with a soft hint of bitterness on finish.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES Alta Langa is a new Piedmontese DOCG appellation. In each bottle of Cuvée Aurora, the current vintage is enriched by the addition of 10% of the previous vintage cuvée aged in oak barrels. The result is very round, rich and long aging sparkling wine. FOOD PAIRINGS Ideal as an aperitif, and perfect for pairing with entrées and fish dishes. Excellent with oysters and shellfish. PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE One hour skin contact cold maceration prepares the grapes for soft crushing. The must is clarified and fermented at controlled temperatures (17° C) The final cuvée consist of 90% of clear wine and 10% of the previous vintage wine aged in French oak barriques. Fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Classical Method. Yeast contact is extended for at least 24 months followed by traditional hand riddling (rémuage) on pupitres and dégorgement à la glace. Follows an ideal bottle aging. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: pale pink with tiny very persistent perlage. BOUQUET: intense and charming elegant with notes of apple, vanilla and wild rose. TASTE: full bodied, round, silky and harmonious.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES Added to the Banfi Piemonte Alta Langa's project. This sparkling rosé, made by 100% of Pinot Noir grapes, is well known for its harmonic character and elegant silkiness. PRINCIPESSA GAVIA PERLANTE GAVI DOCG Grown at the Principessa Gavia Single vineyard estate, located in the classic Gavi region of Novi Ligure.
GRAPE VARIETIES Cortese 100% PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE The clean must from the first pressing is fermented off the skins at a controlled temperature of 18° C and then cooled at 0° C during the last part of the alcoholic fermentation that takes place in stainless steel tanks for two weeks. Storage at low temperatures conveys a slight natural effervescence to the wine. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: pale straw. BOUQUET: intense, fruit-forward, with hints of pineapple and apple. TASTE: crisp with gentle acidity and slightly bitter, balanced finish. WINEMAKER’S NOTES A unique expression of the Cortese di Gavi grape variety. This particular pétillant character of this wine is
achieved during the vinification of our elected and ripest Cortese grapes, with the highest sugar content. FOOD PAIRINGS An aperitif wine, excellent with hors d’oeuvres and fish dishes in general. PRINCIPESSA GAVIA GAVI DOCG Grown at the Principessa Gavia single vineyard estate, located in the Classic Gavi region of Novi Ligure.
GRAPE VARIETIES Cortese 100% PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE Following a rigorous selection of Cortese grapes and vinified using the latest winemaking techniques, the clean must is gently pressed and fermented at a controlled temperature of 18° C for 20 days. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: pale straw. BOUQUET: intense, fruit forward, with typical hints of pineapple and apple. TASTE: well balanced, with gentle acidity and delicate, dry finish. WINEMAKER’S NOTES Cortese di Gavi is an historical grape variety of the lower Piedmont Region. Principessa Gavia is made from our own estate-grown grapes. Thanks to the soft pressing and the stainless steel fermentation at controlled low
temperatures (always below 18°C), its typical delicate aromas and crisp flavours are enhanced. FOOD PAIRINGS An aperitif wine, excellent with hors d’oeuvres, it is also the perfect match for seafood and poultry dishes. LA LUS PIEMONTE DOC Born from the marriage between Barbera and Nebbiolo, Albarossa, a new wine by Banfi, traces its roots back to 1938. A new and captivating hybrid that uniquely re-interprets the terroir of Piedmont.
GRAPE VARIETIES Albarossa 100% PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE Following a brief period at cool temperatures (24 hours at 46-50°F), the juice and skins are fermented together for 8-10 days at 75° F, with frequent pumping over to bring out the fruit aromas. Toward the end of fermentation the temperature is raised up to 86° F to increase the extraction of tannins from the skins. The wine is then aged for 12 months in French oak barriques, followed by an additional 6-8 months of bottle aging before release. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: bright ruby red, very intense and deep. BOUQUET: fresh, fruity and complex, showing typical flavors of red berries, cherries and plum jam; the wood influence is very subtle and clean, with notes of vanilla and licorice. TASTE: velvety, full-bodied and harmonious, with soft tannins. A long finish with fruity notes. Though very enjoyable when released, it is also suitable for a long aging.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES La Lus is the highest expression of this innovative and typical varietal, Albarossa. Structured for long aging, this wine can also be enjoyed in its youth thanks to its inherent characteristics of round and soft tannins. It is a modern wine with great visible impact, upholding the typical tradition of fine Piedmontese wines. FOOD PAIRINGS An ideal accompaniment to appetizers, pasta with rich sauces, white meats and flavorful dishes. FIRST VINTAGE RELEASED 2006 ALCOHOL CONTENT 13,5% vol. AVAILABLE FORMATS 0,75 lt.

L'ALTRA BARBERA D’ASTI DOCG Barbera, one of the most representative varieties of Piedmont with "L' Altra" becomes an intriguing and fascinating girl. Her dress recalls the gentle hills where her identity and her strength originate. Fresh and pleasant, it has a good structure, that makes "L' Altra" perfect for any kind of occasion. GRAPE VARIETIES Barbera 100% PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE After a short cold maceration (24 hours at 8-10 °C) follows the fermentation with the skins, for 5-7 days at 24-degree temperature, with delicate pumping to enhance the fruity aromas. During fermentation two "delestage" take place. The malolactic fermentation is following, partly in barriques (never new) and partly in steel. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: deep ruby red. BOUQUET: fresh, fruity and complex at first impression, with notes of cherry and plum. TASTE: a full-bodied, well-balanced and dry wine, with sweet tannins and fresh acidity, typical of the grape. The aftertaste is long, with notes of fruit.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES Fresh and pleasant, this Barbera d’Asti has a good structure, which made it perfect for any kind of occasion. L’ARDÌ DOLCETTO D’ACQUI DOC Grown in the vineyards of the historical Dolcetto area, in the heart of the Acqui region.
GRAPE VARIETIES Dolcetto 100% PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE Traditional skin contact maceration (5-7 days) in order to extract the colour is followed by the gentle pressing of the must. The fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: ruby red. BOUQUET: balanced, harmonious, gentle. TASTE: full of flavours with varietal characteristics and a typical dry finish, with hints of ripe cherry. WINEMAKER’S NOTES Thanks to a longer skin contact maceration the wine achieves longer aging potential emphasizing the tipicity of the Dolcetto grape variety. L’Ardì is considered therefore one of the best expressions of this very typical Piedmontese wine. Made according to
the traditional techniques in order to capture at its best the unique freshness of this grape. Young and quaffable, with a dry and harmonious taste. FOOD PAIRINGS Traditionally matched with the typical dishes of Piedmontese cuisine, (especially in the areas of Langhe and Monferrato), it is also an ideal companion to a wide range of foods. ASTI DOCG Grapes grown in the classic region of Asti.
GRAPE VARIETIES Moscato 100% PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE The grapes are refermented in stainless steel tanks according to the Charmat Méthode. The must is then stored at low temperature with selected yeasts for a better prise de mousse. Fermentation is arrested by cooling the temperature down, in order to obtain the ideal residual sugar level: 10%. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: pale straw, fine and persistent mousse with exceptional perlage. BOUQUET: intense and fruity, an elegant expression of typical Moscato aromas, sage and peach blossom. TASTE: sweet, crisp, aromatic, harmoniously delicate on the palate. WINEMAKER’S NOTES The typical sweet flavour of the Moscato grape is very well balanced by a good
acidity in this elegant Asti sparkling wine, one of the most historic wines ever produced in our Banfi Piemonte cellar. SCIANDOR MOSCATO D’ASTI DOCG Grapes grown in Strevi’s hilltop vineyards, traditionally dedicated to the production of Moscato grapes.
GRAPE VARIETIES Moscato 100% PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE The selected grapes are gently pressed. The must is then filtered and fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 17-18° C until an alcohol content of 4,5% is reached. DESCRIPTION COLOUR: golden pale straw. BOUQUET: varietal aromas, delicate with hints of peach blossom and ripe fruit. TASTE: soft, well-rounded, reminiscent of honey, with subtle hints of raisins on the finish. WINEMAKER’S NOTES Soft and lively, Sciandor, our Tappo Raso wine, is made from ripe grapes grown in Strevi, the area more dedicated to the Moscato grape than any other region. This wine expresses, at their best, all the typical sweet and aromatic characteristics of this varietal.
