Materiale sempre più scelto per progetti edili e di arredo, il legno è costituito principalmente da cellulosa e lignina, sostanze caratterizzate da un alto contenuto di carbonio, che insieme all’idrogeno e ossigeno, sono responsabili del processo di combustione. Di ogni materiale combustibile può essere stabilita la specifica reazione al fuoco, ovvero il suo grado di partecipazione al fuoco a cui è sottoposto.

An ever more popular choice in building and furnishing, wood is mainly composed of cellulose and lignin – high carbon substances that together with hydrogen and oxygen enable the process of combustion. Every flammable material has a specific reaction to fire, i.e. its degree of participation in the fire it is exposed to.

Thanks to our research and testing processes, ICRO can bring avant-garde technology to the marketplace. In fact, our ECL products decrease the reactivity of wooden elements to flame. After a correctly executed coating cycle, our product penetrates into the wooden surface ensuring, in case of fire, a marked reduction in the amount of oxygen coming into contact with the area affected.

Assicurarsi che il legno sia pulito e asciutto, esente da macchie di resina, grassi o altre particelle inquinanti e con umidità inferiore al 12%. Alcune essenze ricche di sostanze grasse, come nel caso dell’iroko o del palissandro, possono causare difetti. Per tali motivi si raccomanda di svolgere sempre dei test preliminari e/o di applicare uno strato di fondo isolante poliuretanico. / SURFACE PREPARATION Ensure that wood is clean and dry, free of resin stains, oils or other polluting particles and with humidity of less than 12%. Some essences rich in fatty substances, such as Iroko or Rosewood, can cause defects. To avoid this always carry out preliminary tests and/or apply a base coat of polyurethane insulator.

Dopo almeno 2 ore ed entro 4 ore, applicare la seconda mano da 150 g/m2 di fondo ignifugo ECL 1350 trasparente (FPUR1350) catalizzato al 100% con induritore ECL 1350 (INUR1350) senza carteggiare (in caso si superi tale intervallo di tempo, si rende necessaria la carteggiatura dello strato precedente). / BASE COAT Apply a layer of 150 g/m2 of transparent fire retardant base coat ECL 1350 (FPUR1350) catalysed 100% with hardener ECL 1350 (INUR1350). NORMATIVE / STANDARDS

Per i prodotti e gli elementi da costruzione in legno - pavimenti esclusi - la norma europea che regolamenta la classificazione di reazione al fuoco è la UNI EN 13501-1, mentre la classe di reazione al fuoco è stabilita dalle seguenti norme: EN 13823:2014 - Prove di reazione al fuoco dei prodotti da costruzione - esclusi i pavimenti esposti a un attacco termico prodotto da un singolo oggetto in combustione. EN 11925-2: 2005 - Prove di reazione al fuoco accendibilità dei prodotti sottoposti all’attacco diretto della fiamma. Seconda prova con l’impiego di una singola fiamma. I materiali vengono classificati secondo le Euroclassi: A1, A2, B, C, D, E, F. I materiali classificati A1 sono incombustibili e quelli certificati A2, B, C, D, E, F bruciano in ordine crescente. La classificazione europea prevede anche la verifica dei fumi, del gocciolamento e di altri parametri, che vengono inseriti nella definizione della classe di reazione al fuoco con apposite abbreviazioni: S: smoke (fumo) – classificato da 1 a 3 D: drops (gocce) – classificato da 0 a 1 Anche in presenza di una classificazione europea, in Italia solo per l’applicazione nel settore dell’arredo è tuttora necessaria l’omologazione nazionale, da parte del Ministero degli Interni, come previsto dal D.M. 6 marzo 92. I prodotti vernicianti così testati risultano efficaci purché siano rispettati i vincoli di applicazione previsti dalla norma UNI 9796. Per l’impiego a parete o soffitto nelle attività soggette alla prevenzione di incendi, i materiali da costruzione devono rispettare i requisiti di reazione al fuoco secondo la classificazione europea.
