Jesse Labelle Every time you create a piece of content, whether it’s 1500 words or 140 characters, you make an impact. And asking yourself the above questions are critical, Especially if you want to make the world – and the web – a better place. The internet certainly has massive power to connect people, and has virtually unlimited potential for good – and there’s also a darker, less positive side that has mass potential for harm.
Just by being at BlissDom Canada, we know which side of the fence you’re on, but even the best among us will “slip up” occasionally and put something out there that results in unintended consequences. We’re proud to explore both sides, and present our first “Social Etiquette” panel.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS Eric Alper is CTV’s music correspondent and a regular contributor to CBC’s The Strombo Show, Sirius/XM, TSN 660AM in Montreal, Country 92.9 in Chatham-Kent, DAWG FM in Ottawa among others. He has also been named to Billboard Magazine, Paste Magazine and The National Post’s best on social media. With over 150,000 followers on Twitter and 10,000+ friends/fans on Facebook while behind the board at www.ThatEricAlper.com, which now receives over 125,000 hits a week, he is one of the country’s authority on music. Ward and Al are Toronto-based comedians Ward Anderson and Allison Dore. Their show, brilliantly named “Ward and Al”, is a combination of entertainment talk, pop culture yammering, political stupidity, and irrational nonsense. There are guest interviews from the world of media, comedy, and entertainment, and our hosts keep the show quick and fun and easy-going. Consider it Radio Popcorn for your day. Matt Dusk is one of Canada’s most beloved male vocalists, forging a career in music that has resulted in 4 critically-acclaimed studio albums. Dusk’s latest release, MY FUNNY VALENTINE: THE CHET BAKER SONGBOOK, pays homage to one of the most popular musicians of the twentieth century, Chet Baker. Dusk has been awarded two GOLD albums: TWO SHOTS (Canada) and GOOD NEWS (Poland), had three number one radio hits: ALL ABOUT ME (Canada), BACK IN TOWN (Japan), and GOOD NEWS (France), is an alumnus of the St. Michael’s Choir School and studied under jazz piano legend Oscar Peterson at York University. Kirstine Stewart is responsible for Canadian operations at Twitter, including its advertising business and partnerships. Prior to joining Twitter in May 2013, Kirstine was the executive vice-president of CBC’s English services, CBC/Radio-Canada, where she oversaw CBC’s English radio and audio, television and digital operations. Earlier, she was senior vice-president of programming for Alliance Atlantis where she headed up brands HGTV, Food Network, National Geographic, BBCCanada and others. Drew Dudley is a professional speaker, writer, educator and entrepreneur. He is the former Director of one of Canada’s largest university leadership developmentprograms, and has helped raise over $3 million as the Founder or Chair of several organizations dedicated to supporting scholarship funds, social entrepreneurship, and charitable initiatives. This includes a recordbreaking term as the National Chair of Canada’s largest student fundraiser — Shinerama: Students Fighting Cystic Fibrosis — which mobilizes 35,000 students at 60 colleges and universities to raise a million dollars annually to support the work of Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

@mombizdotcom
@mombizdotcom
You’re building your business from your notepad up. And your business plan is a crucial part of your success. Have you built your business plan? If you have, when was the last time you updated it? We’re not talking an overwhelming volume of text – we’re talking about your goals and your next steps to get you there, including all the bits and pieces that are crucial to business building. This hands-on workshop with Lara Galloway and Shelagh Cummins – also known as the Mom Biz Ladies – will get you working through the fundamentals of your business, the priorities you need to set, the tasks you need to sort and the goals you need to achieve. This hands-on working session will get you ready to rock the next 12 months of your business. CHANGE: What Do You Stand For?
@jenhunter
06 ::
Join Jennifer Hunter and Tania Carriere in this soul searching, life enhancing workshop. If you were asked today, what do you stand for? Could you answer? We’re busy people, fulfilling our commitments to work and family. And sometimes in that, we need to take a moment to get in touch with our own hearts and inner voices to ensure that as we write on our blogs and do our jobs and create the tapestry of our lives, we still are being true to our own goals and beliefs. What are your core values? What are the ideals and outcomes that mean the most to you? What do you want your own legacy to be? Jen and Tania will use their combined 40+ years of experience as leadership and life coaches to help you create your own core list of what YOU stand for. Then we’ll look at practical and strategic ways to live these values in your everyday life – from changing your routines to starting something entirely new. This session will re-energize your motivations, get you back in touch with the reasons you started your current adventures, and get your feet in tune with your heart.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS
TRACK 1: WORK From our blogs to our businesses and beyond, talking about strategies, marketing and all things that pay the bills. Take It To The Next Level: New Strategies For Your Blog And Business. Does it seem like everyone’s done it all before? Are you offering the same thing everyone else is offering? It’s time to differentiate. Take your business and your customers down new and innovative paths – it all starts by listening. Speakers: Tara Hunt, Laura Berg, Leesa Butler Everyone Thinks You’re Crazy: You Must Be Doing Something Right. You’ve been working at your idea for months. Years, even. And so far, it hasn’t turned in to what you thought it might. Everyone’s telling you to give up. In this conversation, we’re going to talk about someone who heard “you’re crazy” for a long time before they finally had their breakthrough. Listen to these stories and learn how to persevere here. Speaker: Mike McDerment, Interviewed by Erica Ehm Top Business Flubs and Fabs: Tools to turn you in to the consummate professional. When we’re new entrepreneurs or consultants, there’s a lot to learn. And sometimes, people don’t learn quickly enough. Let’s talk about the top business flubs these experienced business folks see – and the top tools for you to avoid these mistakes and stand out among the crowd as a consummate professional! Speakers: Martin Waxman, Eden Spodek, Julie Steiner TRACK 2: CREATE Every day we call on our minds and souls to create – to view and to interpret, to write and to tell. This track nurtures those creative fires and gets our souls refilled. Blog To Book: It happens. It happens more than you would think. You’ve spent all your time and creative energy on your blog or your business. How do you get in front of a publisher? Bloggers get book deals (and magazine gigs and other paid writing) all the time. But how? What are publishers looking for? How do you show them that your story is unique and worth bringing to the mass market? There’s definite ways to navigate the road – come talk to those who have done it. Speakers: Caroline Fernandez, Julie Van Rosendaal The Art Of Creativity. We all are content creators – whether we write it, photograph it, brainstorm it or execute it. In this on-demand world we live in, it’s easy to get burned out. How do we refill our creativity wells when we’re required to constantly produce? Learn entire new ways of looking at creativity here. Speaker: Jason Theodor
Creating Amazing Work: The Framework For Great Writing. You’ve got your pitch down to a science. But what does great content really look like? What’s the structure, the bones, the hook in your writing that makes your readers and clients happy and keeps them coming back for more? There’s a science to it, too – learn all about it here. Speakers: Elan Morgan, Rebecca Stanisic, Haley Overland TRACK 3: CHANGE How do we change – ourselves, our lives, the world around us? Is the path we’re on the one we want to choose? This track is about change – ourselves, and the world. What’s Your Digital Legacy? It used to be that conversations were kept between two people, words spoken, letters written. But now, we’ve left so much more out there for the future to see. If archaeologists were to find your blog 1000 years from now, what would they think about our society? Let’s talk digital legacy, mindfulness, and Miley Cyrus here. Speakers: Andrea Tomkins, Shannon McKarney Achieving Goals With Soul: Staying True To Your Personal Ethics. Do you have to resort to dog-eat-dog tactics to get ahead? Do you have to compromise your own sense of right and wrong in order to get business? No way. In this conversation, we’ll talk to people who have achieved wild success by adhering to their own moral compass. We’ll talk about following your gut, how to kindly but firmly walk away, and how to find opportunities that resonate with your own soul. Speakers: Annie Urban, Lisa Delorme. The Next Generation: Navigating Parenting And Raising A Family In Public. Sure, our generation invented the internet. And now the next generation is all over it. How do we guide them – and ourselves – in this enormous, ever evolving and intimidating space? Our kids are going to change the world, and us with it. Talk about guiding them through this new landscape here. Speakers: Candace Alper, Rebecca Keenan, Andrea Nair, Corinne McDermott
