Bryan's Blueberries by
Gigi Wierzbicki
It was late Summer and Bryan was all ready for his long winter nap. Most of all, he had his favourite food ready. A blueberry plant full of yummy ripe blueberries.
But the next day, all his blueberries were gone!
‘Excuse me, did you eat my blueberries?’ Bryan said. He was very nervous as talking to other animals wasn’t his favourite thing to do. It did not help that Eagle was up so high.
‘No,’ Eagle replied. ‘I don’t like fruit.’
‘Excuse me, did you eat my blueberries?’ Bryan asked Moose. ‘Not those ones anyway,’ Moose replied.
‘Excuse me, did you eat my blueberries?’ Bryan asked Raccoon. ‘Err… no?’ Raccoon said.
‘Excuse me, did you eat my blueberries?’ Bryan asked Wolf. Wolf did not reply and he turned away because he was very rude.
‘I’m never going to find out who ate my blueberries!’ Bryan said. He was very sad.
‘Err excuse me… hello,’ Raccoon said. ‘I ate your blueberries and I’m very sorry.’
‘But, I’ve made you this!’ the Raccoon said. He gave Bryan a yummy looking pie. ‘What is it?’ Bryan said.
‘It’s Blueberry pie!’ Raccoon said. ‘So you can have your blueberries in the winter.’ Bryan thanked him and took it but he had a better idea.
Word spread quickly across the forest that Bryan was inviting everyone for a big surprise...
That afternoon, all the animals gathered round to have a slice of Bryan’s delicious blueberry pie. And they all thought it was very good.
