Introduction When one thinks of poetry a certain image of a book and text immediately comes to mind. One that remains perhaps dusty and dingey, with old words and phrases that remain difficult to understand and take meaning from. However, what you hold in your hands now represents nothing of the sort and is indeed‌ a poetry book. The birth of this book, and the series it remains a part of, exists as the new age of exciting and exclaiming poetry. The poems enclosed are carefully catalogued into emotions that EVERYONE feel, this is so that it becomes easy to understand their message and perhaps are there to turn to when aching with a certain emotion that day. Within the pages you will find poems that are old and new to show that both are exciting and fun to read, whilst also educating the differences- learning poetry can be cool and easy! Not only this, the poems are all inclusive. That means you will hear from all genders and identities, all ethnicities and heritages and all ages and time periods. No one will be left unheard. With that being said turn the page and pick an emotion to read from! Or read from the start and turn to page 1. The choice is yours. Welcome to your new perception of poetry.

I Wanna Be Yours - John Cooper Clarke I wanna be your vaccum cleaner Breathign in your dust I wanna be your Ford Cortina I will never rust If you like your coffee hot Let mem be your coffee pot You call the shots I wanna be yours I wanna be your raincoat For those frequent rainy days I wanna be your dreamboat When you want to sail away Let me be your teddy bear Take me with you anywhere I wanna be yours I wanna be your electric metre I will not run out I wanna be the electric heater You’ll get cold without I wanna be your setting lotion Hol dyour hair in deep devotion Deep as the deep Atlantic ocean Thats’s how deep is my devotion

I Loved You First - Christina Rosetti I loved you first: but afterwards your love Outsoaring mine, sang a much loftier song As drowned the friendly cooings of my dove. Which owes the other most? my love was long, And yours one moment seemed to wax more strong; I loved you andn guessed at you, you construed me And loved me for what might or might not beNay, weights and measures do us both a wrong. For verily love knows not ‘mine’ or ‘thine’, With separate ‘I’ and ‘thou’ free love has done, For one is both and both are one in love: Rich love knows nought of ‘thine that is not mine;’ Both have the strength and both length thereof, Both of us, of the love which makes us one.

Body of Water- Alice O’Gara Drops hit the window and I drop down to the floor, It seems when it rains my soul begins to pour. As water falls from the sky I am reminded only of you, And all of the forgotten feelings come flooding back too. The desie to be soaked- not wet- pulls me out of doors, The heavens part and like my heart when it rains it pours Rain from the heavens is not the only exception, In all bodies of water remains this same perception. A lake reflecting the stars reflect moments for me of bliss, If water could talk it would tell of the walks and all the things that I miss.

Alone vs. Alone - Alice O’Gara I’m in a house on my own and I have the option to be aloneOr to be alone with you. I’d feel kisses and hugs and we’d drink hot drinks from mugsBut I’m not sure it’s the right thing to do. Because that’s all I would feel, there is no deeper ordealAnd to you that is simply not fair. I know the pain and the feeling of no gainAnd as though the other does not care. I do not want a need and for a heart to bleedFor your soul to begin to spill. Because I do fear that by having you nearCreates a hole that I cannot fulfill. I know in all your being it is me that you are seeingBut this I cannot condone. Because if you were here it would make no difference my dearThat’s why I am Alone vs. Alone.

LONELINESS

To- - Percy Bysshe Shelley One word is too often profaned For me to profane it, One feeling too falsely disdained For thee to disdain it; One hope is too like despair For prudence to smother, And pity from thee more dear Than that from another. I can not give what men call love, But wilt thou accept not The worhsip the heart lifts above And the Heavens reject not,-The desire of the moth for the star, Of the night for the morrow, The devotion so something afar From the sphere of our sorrow?

Delighted- Unrequited I feel something grow inside me, It is warm and glowing bright. A feeling I always feel too fast, But can never seem to fight. Hopes built up to a mountain top, How far that is to fall. Fall I do- and fast at thatBut landing feeling small. My heart bleeds I can feel it lead every part of my being, Images blur and new flames occur but you are all that I’m seeing. I’m convinced you’re the cure or perhaps soemthing more, For this ache that I am feeling, But as your head turns I begin to learn: it is me that should start healing. How I began when my feelings ran, I can only describe as ‘delighted’, But now I see as you turn away from me; That this is love unrequited.
