SO, YOU WANT T0 MAKE YOUR PHOTOS INSTA WORTHY? 7

Hi, I’m Bronte.

Or you may know me online as @bookishbronte (that account that managed to gain 40,000 followers in a year by taking photos of books). There’s a limited number of things that I’m good at giving advice on, but luckily taking photos is one of them. Or, more importantly, how to make your photos ‘Insta Worthy’. Making it on Instagram is tougher than ever, but it’s not impossible. And I’m here to tell you how to do it.

THE THEME 9

11

Instagram has become so much more than posting good photos. In order for someone to press that ‘follow’ button, they need to like your whole feed, not just that one good photo. The way your grid looks, more specifically, that top 9 set of photos that anyone sees when they click on your profile, is the most important thing. Your photos need to look consistent, identifiable, and eye catching. You need a theme. Here’s a few things to do:

12

1. Use the Same Filter.

Using the same filter on all of your photos is a sure-fire way to get your photos looking more consistent. They don’t necessarily have to be Instagram filters, there are a number of different filter apps to choose from.

14

2. Have Running Themed Photos.

Of course, this is not a requirement but it can be helpful in showing new followers what to expect from your account. These are also helpful on days when you are lacking inspiration!

3. Colours.

Trying to keep the colours in your top 9 consistant makes your photos look like they ‘go’ together. for example, having hints of green in your top 9 one week and then blue in your next top 9 will keep your photos looking like a little art gallery.

PURPOSE 19

What is the purpose of your account?

I have seen so many great accounts that look beautiful but they can’t grow because they have no purpose to them. You have got to ask yourself what do you want out of your Instagram account?

Create Photos with your Purpose in Mind.

If you are always creating content with your purpose in mind then your account will always look consistent. This also means that your followers will know what to expect when you post.
