Someone Like Me

by

Katherine Valentine

I am different. I want to find someone like me so I will not be alone.

Excuse me, how are you walking on the squashy floor . I have big flat feet that stop me sinking. So do you.

Thank you. Have you seen anyone like me ? No. Maybe there is someone like you in the city.

Thank you stopping me drowning. That is okay.

Do your ears help you swim ?

No, they just look rad. Yours look rad too.

Are you okay? You can fly over the mountains with your wings, like me.

I am a little bit confused. How do I get past these tall mountains?

Hello there, do you know the way to my home? I do not but you should follow your tail. I have not met anyone like me, but I am ready to go home. Tails are good for swatting ies too.

I am unique. I am glad to be me.

“I am different. I will go find someone like me so I am not alone.” They go on a journey to find someone like them and along the way meet creatures that show them they aren’t alone, and maybe being unique isn’t such a bad thing all.
