Christian Business Directory We’d like to extend a
Special Thanks
to all the businesses, individuals and customers who have financially supported this issue of 4EverBelieve Christian Business Directory. Their support of this magazine has helped underwrite the cost of local National Day of Prayer events. We believe Christian businesses should be just as competitive as other businesses in price, merchandise, and service. As believers support one another, a portion of what Christian businesses are paid goes back into the Lord’s work in the form of tithe and offerings. By supporting these local businesses, you, in effect, increase your giving; businesses gain a customer; and the work of the local church is therefore advanced. The businesses and professional people supporting this issue come from various denominations throughout our local area. Although we differ on minor doctrine, we all agree that our personal faith in Jesus Christ and His Word is the basis of our fellowship. Published By LISI Brothers _______________________________

If My People... In 2 Chronicles 7:14 we read, If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (NKJV) Can we apply this to our nation? Can we apply this to the church? Is this no longer applicable because it is in the Old Testament? The present state of our nation and the current direction it is headed (economically, morally, etc.) is the...

4 everbelieve.com result of a nation of individuals who value their autonomy more than they value obedience to the almighty God. Instead of living according to standard of behavior God has given us in His Word, we adhere to our own set of rules, if we have any rules at all. Greed is allowed to run unchecked and is even applauded in certain circles. This behavior is not surprising from those who are lost and do not have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ it is NOT acceptable from those who love Jesus and claim to be His followers. How does this verse apply to the nation of America today? We, as Christians, are God's

people, so this verse applies directly to us. The problem is that many Christians live their lives by following God just enough to imagine that they are safe. Instead of committing their entire life to Him, they draw an imaginary line which designates the bare minimum they have to do to be covered by His grace. The present condition of our nation should be seen as a wake up call to Christians to re-evaluate our walk with God. To ask God to show us what we need to do to come into that place where we are COMPLETELY in His will. A nation is not Christian or un-Christian- only the individuals who make up that nation can be "Christian", and this comes about by hav-

FOR FUN
We who call ourselves Christians must allow God to search our hearts, show us where we need to change, and empower us to make those changes to live as He wants us to live. If we do not do that, we are as much to blame for the deterioration of our country, and world, as anyone else, maybe more so.
morning, a young boy suddenly
Let us make it our mission to introduce people to Jesus Christ and to help them become "transformed by the renewing of their mind."
After a church service on Sunday announced to his mother, “Mom, I’ve decided to become a minister when I grow up.” “That’s okay with us, but what made you decide that?” “Well,” said the little boy, I have to go to church on Sunday anyway, and I figure it will be more fun to stand up and yell, than to sit and listen.”

The screams of hundreds of happy children shake the building and
my nerves. Day three of Vacation Bible School, The Arctic Edge, is underway. It is only 8 a.m.; under normal circumstances, I would be sitting on my patio, enjoying a large mug of coffee. Today, I am at church, surrounded by noise.
My friend, Jackie, and I are team teaching. Although the first two
days of VBS passed smoothly, neither of us feels ready today. I am weak and unfocused. When Jackie leaves the room to get supplies, I pray again.

and forth; another swings his name tag. Jackie struggles to keep the class focused, but vacant expressions seem to indicate failure.
“Lord, when we are weak, you are strong. Our weakness cannot begin to compare with your strength. Please have your way today. Give us favor with the children and give them favor with us. Let this be more than mere fun— please touch their hearts and change their lives forever.”
Then Jackie stands up and introduces the ABC’s of salvation. “A is for accept—accept that you are a sinner. B is for believe—believe that Jesus is the Son of God who died to save you from your sin. C is for confess—confess with your mouth that you believe Jesus saved you.”
I take a deep breath. I have done all I can; I trust God with the rest. Our first class is uneventful. The second is more difficult. Little things go wrong. I stumble teaching the memory verse. A photographer comes in to shoot pictures during the story. One boy stands against a wall, swaying back

Jackie gives every child a plastic star that glows in the dark. The stars represent the light that comes into our life when we know Jesus as our savior, just like the stars that light up the day and night during the long Arctic winter. As we prepare to pray, an eight-year-old girl named Casey raises her hand. Tears roll down her freckled cheeks.
Christian Business Directory “I’m not sure I’m a Christian,” she whispers uncertainly. Jackie’s smile is brighter than the fluorescent star she holds. “I’m so glad you told me that. All you have to do to be sure is to pray with me right now.” Tears of joy fill my eyes as my friend and I pray with and for this little disciple as she takes her first step into God’s kingdom. In what was by far our weakest lesson, God proved himself more than sufficient to draw a small soul to His light. Our offering was small, but God blessed it. A child drank of His abundant grace today.
For Fun... After the dedication of his baby brother in church, little Johnny sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied, “That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I want to stay with you guys!”

Pugly.
He wasn't the only disfigured dog in the shelter,
but something about him caught John's eye. John looked at the name on the outside of the cage: Pugly. The name was a mix between "pug" and "ugly."
He supposed he was called that because of his pug
nose, a battered eye and slobbery mouth. John could also see remnants of burn marks on his flesh, and one leg... by Bob Valleau

appeared to have healed crooked from being broken. The dog's naturally wrinkled face and curly tail did not appeal to John, but he knew pugs made a great family pet. "I'll take this one," John told an attendant. John, a single dad, took Pugly home to his eight-year-old daughter, Carolina, who immediately loved and cared for him. After all, Carolina was the one who prodded John to visit the shelter in the first place. Pugly delighted Carolina for many years, however, not without a price. He was the scourge of the neighborhood. He endured the taunting and ridicule of Carolina's friends and some of John's as well. But Pugly didn't mind. He was happy to have a home, and he took everything in stride which
endeared him that much more to his masters. Then, shortly before Carolina graduated from high school, Pugly died, and John and Carolina wept. John remembered those moments when he first met Pugly, and he realized why he was so drawn to him. Pugly could not hide the torture he once endured. Although his wounds were treated, the scarring and disfigurement would serve as constant reminders of past abuse. John and Carolina knew it would take a lot of love to help Pugly thrive -- and survive -- in an unpredictable and uncaring world. And, as time passed, they were able to give him that kind of love which lasted throughout his lifetime.

Christian Business Directory Unlike Pugly, we humans are adept at camouflaging our hurt and pain. On the outside, we may appear as someone who is whole, but, on the inside, we do everything we can to keep from crumbling. We need the love of another to help us heal and overcome the onslaught of whatever taunting, trials and temptations we may face. The only person capable of giving us that kind of love is Jesus. When we allow Jesus to become the salve for our broken and damaged lives, we will start to heal and see our wounds slowly fade away. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds," (Psalm 147:3, NIV).

A National Day of Prayer From our coordinator What a joy it is to be an ambassador for the Cause of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are given the opportunity to represent the greatest Sovereign ever known & carry out His will. We still pray Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven… often without any idea that His kingdom is coming, His will is being done. The Stewardship of Prayer given us goes beyond seasonal. Yes, we celebrate annual moments of unity in order to elevate our Lord’s Cause, the Kingdom of God on earth, the rule of righteousness in the personal life and social relationships of all mankind. Patriotism is encouraged annually by anniversaries like Independence Day – Gratitude should be continuous but all the months are thankfuller because of Thanksgiving Day – weekdays are to be kept holy, yet it is clear from history that one day each week kept sacred makes all days sacreder. So it is with prayer…
The greatest praying has generally meant habitual communion with God that expressed itself in occasional acts, and occasional acts that deepened habitual communion; but whatever the method, alike the basis and the end of all was abiding fellowship with God. -HEF How shall we fellowship with God unless we know Him, commune with Him? This is made possible through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Read the facts presented by Apostle Paul (1 Cor 15) – Who we are and what we become is the outcome of such a word being planted in the soil of the heart. It’s far more than reciting a prayer. Once received & believed, the work has begun. Much like being born, an Event that makes time the occasion for eternity to come alive in the every day.

7:30AM – On arrival 8:00AM Song Led by Mark Bolos 1 Chron 29:10-13 17-18 2 Chron 7:14-15 NKJV
LEADER: Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly; and David said: “Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever. TOGETHER:
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and You are exalted as head over all.
LEADER:
Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.
TOGETHER:
“Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name.
LEADER:
I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You. O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the intent of the thoughts of the heart of Your people, and fix their heart toward You.
TOGETHER:
If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.

A Local True Testimony Jeremiah Pianko
“When I was a child, I spoke like a child. I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.” (I Cor 13:11) I sometimes get caught up in thinking about childhood experiences. On a rare occasion I try to reenact them out. As an adult I think it is only natural to recollect my childhood memories. It brings back a sense of comfort, excitement and mischievousness. There is the fair, or the adventure of a vacation to northern California for a family reunion. These were simple harmless experiences that I enjoyed. What about being mischievous? The crafty, daydreaming, devious side of me. My mother was overprotective. I grew up in a Christian home I now appreciate. At the time, not so much. Being told no all the time brought out a sense of inquisitiveness. Why couldn’t I do that, or go there? I only questioned it so long before I began manipulating the situations I was being held against. I was crafty, or so I thought. I would make up a story about going bowling with some of the kids
from youth-group. In all reality I was going to a party to drink and get high. I thought for the longest time I was tricking my Mom - that I had pulled the wool over her eyes. In fact, I was doing nothing more than setting myself up for recklessness later in life. In the midst of my twenties, the time period I was supposed to be acting like a man, I continued to make childish decisions. Misappropriating in the military was not the best way to start off life as an adult. My stubbornness toward obedience carried me right on through to addiction with alcohol. Thinking I had everything under control, to my surprise I found myself failing. Countless times I put myself in situations that were detrimental to the physical well being of others and myself. I finally came to a point of brokenness and fairly recently have begun to change my childish ways. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of god, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (Romans 12:2)

Transforming my self will not be easy. I am putting off my old self and my childish ways and putting on the new self, a man of God. I now have to be obedient, not just to man but unto the Lord. The will of God in my life is not that of childish ways, but that of a Spirit filled life of obedience to our Savior. My purpose in life is to please the Lord, not to pursue my fleshly desires. By the direction of the Holy Spirit in my life He will help lead me to Katargeo. (Katargeo: A Greek word meaning: “To put away, to render inoperative, inactive, or powerless; to remove the meaning and significance from; to cause a person to be free from something that has been binding him.”)
in my weakness.” (II Cor 12:9) In September of 2009, I became spiritually bankrupt. I entered into the discipleship ministry of Teen Challenge. Placing everything at the feet of Jesus was a long overdue decision. He has truly blessed me over this last year.
I know now that the enemy has no power over me. He is powerless against the blood and Christ’s Spirit who lives through me. “His Grace is sufficient for me; his power is made perfect
I’m grateful to share my testimony with men that I understand. For I myself once struggled with the very same things they now face. Thank you Jesus!
The Lord spoke to me last spring and told me to “give back.” The Rescue Mission of Utica was without a shadow of doubt the place I have felt lead to fulfill the great commission. I attended the Parker House Program in 2007-2008. I wanted nothing more than to be given the opportunity to give back at the very place that helped me in a particular time in my life.
