They have a spinning drum that has to be suspended properly during a move.” A broken washer can cause a significant amount of water damage and the tricky part is, you may not realize there is an issue until it’s too late. Before moving a front-loading washer, Ursino recommends the purchase of a manufacturer’s shipping kit which locks the washer’s drum in place and minimizes transit damage.
Always refer to the manufacturer's guide before moving major items - and check with your insurance company to make sure you're adequately covered for moving day. As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Dryer * Clean the lint screen after each load of clothes has been dried. * For gas and electric dryers, check and tighten supply connections. * Check to see if the dryer is level; if it's not, the drum may vibrate and damage the unit.
