OUR HISTORY

FAREAST MANUFACTURER

The Company has been operating from our UK headquarters since 1999. Our business has grown internationally and we now supply products to many countries around the globe. Our UK infrastructure includes our Poole based head office, sales office and design studio, plus a central warehouse located at Lutterworth, which is capable of holding in excess of 4000 pallets of stock at any one time. In recent years Pukka Pads has established it’s own paper pad production facility and strategic office in the Far East, a trading office in Hong Kong and a sales and distribution centre in Poland. The business was further expanded in 2011, by the acquisition of two UK based production plants involved in the manufacture of a wide variety of business forms.

A major recent development for the company was the creation of its own paper pad production plant and office in Kunshan, China. Our Chinese factory is both ISO 9001 registered and FSC certified. With leading technology, research and development capabilities and a sustainable supply commitment, we produce high quality Pukka branded notepads and paper products.

OVERSEAS In addition to the UK based sales team, Pukka Pads has also established strategically located sales offices in Poland and Hong Kong. The European sales team have extensive knowledge of the market, and their visions have proven to be a great success. The Polish site incorporates a warehouse and distribution facility which serves clients for the Polish domestic market and for clients located in mainland Europe. We hope this company development shows our further commitment to our clients and the importance placed by the business on continually driving improvements in service levels. The Hong Kong office offers clients the opportunity to purchase good directly from the Far East on an F.O.B basis reducing logistics and lead times in the process. Our highly experienced team in Hong Kong also undertake sourcing of any product which our clients may wish to purchase. The team constantly research new formats and materials and develop relationships with accomplished factories. The Pukka Pads quality control system requires factories to pass strict production standards for all of the products. To ensure excellence in every product and strive to exceed client expectations.

Our rapidly increasing client portfolio of bespoke production includes many well known international stationery wholesaler, retailers, supermarket chains and catalogue companies.

UK MANUFACTURER Pukka Pads now has three UK production plants. These consist of Cardinal Brands (producer of a wide variety of business forms), Yorkshire Envelopes (produce a huge range of high quality business and greeting card envelopes) and Concord Filing Products Ltd (leading manufacturer of a wide variety of filing products). The acquisition of Yorkshire Envelopes and Concord Filing Products Ltd not only massively increased Pukka Pad’s product portfolio, it also secured the jobs and future of both manufacturing plants. Pukka Pads are looking forward to working with both companies, in order to continue to provide a first class service and quality, value for money products to our entire global client base. These additions to the Pukka group both hold standard stock items but also cater for the needs of those looking for a high quality and competitively priced bespoke product.

OUR ETHICS Pukka Pads are committed to conducting business in an environmentally responsible manner. We strive to remain aware of the environmental performance of our staff, suppliers and production plants wherever possible. We take pride in that all of our paper pads and notebooks are produced from paper which originates from sustainable sources and products are made in mills with ISO9002 and ISO14001 accreditation. In 2010, Pukka Pads production plant was officially certified by the Forest Steward ship Council (FSC).

To ensure we live up to our long term environmental values Pukka Pads has made a commitment to: • Use paper and materials from well managed and accredited sources & suppliers only • Undertake the manufacturing and shipping of our products in a responsible manner • Produce recyclable pads and products only, wherever possible • Recycle our office and warehouse waste and to encourage a healthy working environment • Always look for ways to improve and secure the future of the paper industry

SOURCES & SUPPLIERS All of the paper we use for our products originates from sustainable sources. The planting of new trees is important to us; it is a crucial part of eliminating our impact on the environment as well as helping to secure the supply of paper for future generations.

All of the paper mills we use are ISO9002 and ISO14001 accredited. We also work closely with various recycling companies which allows us to offer recycled paper to all of our customers.

In addition to this, both the Pukka Pads production plant in Shanghai and ‘Cardinal Brands’, one of our UK printing and production sites, are now fully FSC certified. FSC is an independent, not for profit, non-government organisation established to support environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests. Our goal for 2013 is to see all of our printing and production sites world-wide achieve the same fully certified status.

// LOOKING FORWARD We strive to be fully informed of the latest developments and standards in paper production and promise to implement them into our business where possible. This year we have replaced all of our National Account Managerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s company vehicles with fully hybrid cars. This is an example of what Pukka Pads is doing to help eliminate our impact on the environment and of how businesses like ours really can make a difference.

As a global business the transport of our products is kept to an absolute minimum, we manage our shipping in such a way that allows us to distribute products all over the world but which does not see any unnecessary movement of stock.

PADS & PRODUCTS All of the pads we produce are fully recyclable, with the slight exception of our wire bound products which are 98% recyclable. To increase the options available to our customers Pukka Pads also offer a recycled range of pads and notebooks. We are very proud of this responsible approach and are aware that as consumers of our products; you would not expect anything less.

RECYCLING & WORK ENVIRONMENTS We realise that we need to carry our environmental values through to all aspects of our business. We recycle all of our office and warehouse waste where possible, including many specialist items such as used inks and printing plates. We fully support the recycling industry and are happy to see the market for recycling waste growing annually.

It is almost certain that the FSDU will draw the attention of potential customers. The display communicates the Pukka brand at the point of sale and will attract consumers and convert their interest of the products into product sales. This Display Unit looks fantastic when used with any of the Pukka products ranges, however this FSDU can also be used to display a mix of Pukka ranges and will still look great.

Our brand is recognised by its distinctive colours and rich product designs. â&#x20AC;&#x153;Comfort in Coloursâ&#x20AC;? was a challenging and rewarding project which we worked on, in collaboration with The Irlen Institute in the UK. Irlen syndrome is a perceptual problem that can affect children and adults of all ages. Symptoms can include word movement, headaches, perceptual distortions and light sensitivity which can affect concentration and work efficiency. As white paper can contribute to the condition and there is no single colour tone which satisfies every person with the syndrome, we tried to find tones which people found to be the most helpful.

In 2010 our studio and marketing teams identified Pukka Pads were missing out on an exciting area in the market. We felt the importance of targeting this younger audience.
