PLIGHT OF PRO 8 ON INSURGENCY: HAS THIS PRO BEEN EFFECTIVE AGAINST IT? period in review.

Meanwhile, PRO 8 also recorded a number of attacks made by the Communist Terrorist Group recent of which was the atrocity made by the NPA on November 27 of this year in Mapanas, Northern Samar, wounding one (1) PNP Special Action Force (SAF) member while conducting community immersion in Barangay Magsaysay of said town. This is just one of the countless clashes between the government and the NPA that seems so difficult to put an end, continuously advancing in some parts of the country. Hence, there must be an all-out offensive in the fight against insurgency which has the tendency of posing more violence and aggressive assaults on the safety and security of the people. Being blind and mute of the disparaging effects it has created in the society and in the people must thus end. Insurgency is not just a regionwide or a nationwide concern, rather, it’s a global issue that must be addressed promptly and appropriately, It can ruin the fragile peace efforts that the government is doing to persuade rebel groups to completely and permanently, without further question and beyond doubt, lay down its arms.

T

he Police Regional Office 8 had been tenacious in dealing with insurgency which has been the main thrust of curbing crimes in the region. Matter-of-factly, this PRO’s latest crime-solution and crime-clearance efficiency gained positive results. As per record, from July 1 to November 18 of this year, this PRO obtained 92.04% Public Safety Index (PSI) and 69.11% for Peace and Order Index (POI) while 95.35% PSI and 94.65% POI has been accumulated on Crime Clearance Efficiency for the

In attaining lasting peace and warding off another displacement to be accounted among the people, now is the right time to rebuild the spirit of camaraderie and solidarity amongst the country and its citizenry. It must be known to all that through peace and order, great things will be attained including a more sustainable economic development, viable social order, and tenable political stability! Insurgency, in whatever way possible, must be turned down and not be given any chances of succeeding in the next days to come! With the fervent efforts made by this PRO, chances of insurgency in the community will be less likely to thrive.
