FOR THE DESIGN OF THE CONVEYOR
LINEE GUIDA PER LA PROGETTAZIONE DEL CONVOGLIATORE
Differenti fattori influiscono nella corretta progettazione del convogliatore:
• Carico sul convogliatore
• Presenza e quantità di curve a strisciamento
• Presenza e quantità di curve verticali
• Velocità
• Presenza di accumulo
• Fattore ambientale
• Frequenza di avviamento
Tutti i suddetti parametri vanno ad influire sulla lunghezza del convogliatore
CARICO SUL CONVOGLIATORE
E’ dato dal carico massimo totale presente sul convogliatore ed è un parametro fondamentale per il corretto calcolo.
CURVE A STRISCIAMENTO
Le curve a strisciamento contribuiscono ad aumentare la forza di trazione del convogliatore.
Maggiore è l’angolo maggiore sarà l’aumento del valore della forza di trazione.
E’ consigliabile non avere mai più di 2 curve a strisciamento per convogliatore (si suggerisce 1 curva per convogliatore).
CURVE VERTICALI
Come per le curve a strisciamento, anche le curve verticali contribuiscono all’aumento della forza di trazione.
Anche in questo caso, maggiore è l’angolo e maggiore sarà aumento del valore della forza di trazione. E’ consigliabile non avere mai più di 2 curve a strisciamento per convogliatore.
VELOCITA’
La velocità del convogliatore è un fattore che contribuisce più alla durata del convogliatore nel tempo che al parametro della forza di trazione. Di norma, è sconsigliabile scendere sotto i 5 m/min e salire sopra i 60 m/min. Questi valori vanno però verificati di volta in volta a seconda dell’applicazione.
PRESENZA DI ACCUMULO
L’accumulo è una delle voci più importanti per la durata e l’efficienza del convogliatore, oltre che per il corretto trasporto del prodotto.
In presenza di accumulo va considerata, oltre alla normale resistenza dovuta all’attrito tra catena e guida di scorrimento, anche la resistenza favorita dall’attrito tra catena e prodotto trasportato.
GUIDELINES FOR THE CONVEYOR DESIGN
Different factors influence the correct design of the conveyor.
• Load on the conveyor
• Presence and number of bends
• Presence and number of vertical bends
• Speed
• Presence of accumulation
• Environmental factors
• Restart frequencies
All the parameters mentioned above have an influence on the length of the conveyor.
LOAD ON THE CONVEYOR
It is given by total maximum load present on the conveyor . It is a fondamental parameter for the correct calculation.
BENDS
Bends contribute to increase the traction force of the conveyor. The bigger the angle, the bigger the increase of the traction force value.
It is advised that there should never be more than two bends per conveyor (we suggest one bend for a conveyor)
VERTICAL BENDS
LIke the bends, vertical bends also influence the increase in the traction force. In this case as well, the bigger the angle, the bigger the increase in the traction force value. It is advised never to have more than two bends for a conveyor..
SPEED
The speed of the conveyor is a factor that determines the durability of the conveyor in time more than the traction force parameter. Normally it is not advisable to have a speed lower than 5 m/min and higher than 60 m/min. These values, though, must be verified according to each application.
PRESENCE OF ACCUMULATION
The accumulation is one of the most important things that determine the durability and the efficiency of the conveyor, other than the correct transport of the product. In presence of accumulation, in addition to the normal resistence caused by the friction between chain and slide guide, also the resistence favored by the friction between chain and transported product should be taken into consideration.

Product width
La larghezza dei prodotti dipende dalla forma e dalla posizione del baricentro dei prodotti stessi.
Rapporto lunghezza/larghezza prodotto
Il prodotto deve avere una forma idonea in caso di elevatore a catene affiancate. Non sono adatti prodotti lunghi e stretti.
Peso massimo prodotto
• Trasporto orizzontale:
il peso massimo del prodotto è in funzione della necessità di mantenere l’usura delle guide di scorrimento entro limiti accettabili.
• Trasporto verticale: il peso massimo del prodotto è in funzione della resistenza dei facchini e della durata delle guide di scorrimento.
Peso massimo totale
Il peso massimo totale dipende dalla potenza del gruppo motore e dal carico di rottura della catena.
Lunghezza e velocità del convogliatore
Entrambi dipendono dal carico totale e dalla potenza del gruppo motore.

La lunghezza massima dipende dalla velocità e forza di trazione del gruppo di motorizzazione e dalla tensione di catena.
Occorre rilevare i valori della capacità del gruppo motore e della tensione massima di catena, mettendoli successivamente a confronto nelle seguenti situazioni:
• carico elevato
• velocità elevata
• accumulo
• convogliatore lungo
• convogliatore verticale
• convogliature con curve piane orizzontali o verticali
• frequenti avvii e arresti del convogliatore (coefficiente d’impiego elevato)
Temperatura di esercizio
La temperatura di esercizio per i convogliatori SB03 /EF03 è compresa tra +10°C e +40°C. Sono accettabili temperature fino a +100°C per periodi brevi, ad esempio il lavaggio o la pulizia.
The maximum width of the products depends on shape and position of their barycentre.
Length/width product ratio
The product must have a suitable form in case of sided chain elevator. Long and narrow products are not suitable.
Maximum weight product
• Horizontal transport: the maximum weight of the product depends on the necessity to keep wear of the slide rails within acceptable limits.
• Vertical transport: the maximum weight of the product depends on resistance of cleats and duration of slide rails.
Total maximum weight
Total maximum weight depends on drive unit capacity and tensile strength of chain.
Length and speed of conveyor
Lenght and speed of conveyor both depend on total load and drive unit capacity.

Maximum conveyor length
The maximum conveyor length depends on the speed and on the traction force of the drive unit and on the chain tension.
It is necessary to check the values of drive unit capacity and of the highest chain tension and then compare them in the following situations:

Working temperature

Introduzione
Il sistema monovia SB03 di Pulsar Engineering è il risultato di più di 25 anni di esperienza nel campo della movimentazione e dei sistemi di convogliamento. Questo sistema è caratterizzato da una catena a tapparella, di larghezza 82,5 mm, in resina termoplastica ad alte prestazioni, di materiale ad alta resistenza Resistill®, sviluppato e brevettato da Pulsar Engineering srl., che lo rende estremamente versatile nelle applicazioni e flessibil nelle configurazioni richieste dal Cliente. É possibile realizzare sistemi di convogliamento a 1 via o più vie, a seconda del prodotto da trasportare o del campo di applicazione.
Introduction
Pulsar Engineering’s single-beam system SB03 is the result of more than 25 years of experience in the field of handling and conveying systems. This system is characterized by a high-performance thermoplastic resin chain of 82,5 mm in width, made of highly resistent material Resistill®, developed and patented by Pulsar Engineering srl. It is extremely versatile in applications and flexible in the configurations satisfying customers requests. It is possible to create 1-lane or more-lanes conveying systems, according to the product to be transported or to the field of application.

Introduzione
Il sistema monovia EF03 di Pulsar Engineering è il risultato di più di 25 anni di esperienza nel campo della movimentazione e dei sistemi di convogliamento. Questo sistema è caratterizzato da una catena a tapparella in resina termoplastica ad alte prestazioni, di larghezza 82,5 mm, che lo rende estremamente versatile nelle applicazioni e flessibile nelle configurazioni richieste dal Cliente. É possibile realizzare sistemi di convogliamento a una via o più vie, a seconda del prodotto da trasportare o del campo di applicazione.
Introduction
Pulsar Engineering’s single-beam system EF03 is the result of more than 25 years of experience in the field of handling and conveying systems. This system is characterized by a high-performance thermoplastic resin chain, 82,5 mmwide, which makes it extremely versatile in applications and flexible in the configurations required by the customer. It is possible to create one-lane or more-lane conveying systems, depending on the product to be transported or the field of application.

CURVE PIANE CON DISCO
Descrizione
Le curve piane con disco costituiscono la soluzione ideale per avere cambi di direzione con basso attrito (Fare riferimento a LINEE GUIDA PER LA PROGETTAZIONE DEL CONVOGLIATORE Pag. 10) e raggio molto ridotto. Le curve a disco singolo sono indicate per i gruppi di traino senza ritorno catena; mentre su quelle a due dischi, data l’indipendenza della rotazione dei dischi, può esservi o meno il ritorno della catena.
Sui dischi, in materiale termoplastico ad alta resistenza, sono montati 2 cuscinetti a doppia tenuta che garantiscono una notevole durata nel tempo e nessuna manutenzione.

Description
Wheel bends are the ideal solution for changes in direction with low friction (see GUIDELINES FOR THE CONVEYOR DESIGN p.10) with short radius length. Wheel bends with one disc are advised to use with drive units without chain return, while wheel bends with two discs can be used with drive units with or without chain return since the rotation of the two discs is indipendent.
The discs, made in high-strength thermoplastic material, have 2 double-seal bearings mounted on them that guarantee a considerable long life without maintenance.
To avoid the risk of fingers from getting pinched, each bend is equipped with a protection block where the chain enters and leaves.

Descrizione
Le curve piane a strisciamento sono da utilizzare, in alternativa a quelle con disco, solo quando queste ultime sono da escludere per ragioni di ingombro del trasportatore o per le dimensione dei prodotti. Il loro impiego risulta tanto più penalizzante quanto minore è il raggio di curvatura e quanto maggiore è l’angolazione.
Anche la posizione condiziona poi l’incremento di tensione sulla catena: per tale motivo è preferibile avere sempre le curve lontane dai gruppi di traino.

Description
Horizontal plain bends are to be used, as an alternative to the ones with wheel, only when these cannot be used due to the overall dimensions of the conveyor or the size of the products.
Their use is that much more difficult the lesser the radius of curvature and the greater the angle.
The position then also conditions the increase in tension on the chain: for this reason it is always preferable to have the bends far away from the drive units.

Descrizione
Gli accessori per polmoni di accumulo sono essenzialmente i gruppi di traino e folli, i relativi supporti per le staffe per fissare le travi del trasportatore ai montanti. Il ricorso ai polmoni avviene quando il prodotto trasportato deve subire i trattamenti in successione e con cadenza produttiva diversificata. I gruppi di traino e folli (disponibili nelle versioni 90° e 180°) hanno le stesse caratteristiche costruttive e dimensionali delle curve con disco, senza prevedere il ritorno della catena. Nei gruppi di traino il disco di curvatura movimenta la catena.
Dati Tecnici
La limitazione riguarda la massima coppia applicabile al calettatore presente nei dischi di traino: 255 Nm (26kg/m). Tale coppia risulta comunque superiore a quella derivante dalla massima trazione applicabile alla catena. Inoltre si consiglia di utilizzare i gruppi con il D= 25 mm sui polmoni che hanno un numero elevato di spire (polmoni di grosse dimensioni); questo per evitare problemi di torsione sugli alberi.

Description
The accessories for alpine conveyors are essentially the drive and idler units, the relative supports and the brackets to fasten the conveyor beams to the uprights. The necessity for the storage units occurs when the product being transported has to undergo a series of treatments and the production pace is varied. The drive and idler units (available both for the 90° and 180° versions) have the same construction features and sizes as the disk bends, without the chain returning.
In the drive units the bend disk moves the chain.
Technical Information
The limits consern the maximum torque applicable to the cone clamp present in the drive disk: 255 Nm (26 Kg/m).
The said torque is still greater than that which is derived from the maximum traction applicable to the chain. It is also advisable to use units with D= 25 mm on storage units which have a high number of turns (large storage units); this is to avoid the problems of twisting around the shafts.
Maintenance and Spare Parts
The state of wear of the chain guide must be checked regularly.
The following spare parts are available: connection pins and the relative security dowels.
