AGAIN Dear student, We stand here before you with a dynamic team of enthusiastic candidates ready to represent you once more with a vivid manifestation of a better Junior College. In the past year, Pulse in KSJC meant a breath of fresh air be it events, policy and infrastructure. We brought the promised change. After these amazing months, we are presenting yet another strong electoral programme aimed at offering you tangible projects, initiatives and services in the coming months. We cannot stop halfway, let's go Together Again.

PRESIDENT Pulse in KSJC will embrace foreign students in its initiatives by hosting the first-ever Intercultural Day in collaboration with each language department. Pulse in KSJC will initiate talks with the Msida Local Council to introduce the long-awaited zebra cross in front of the Junior College main entrance. Pulse in KSJC will work to introduce an online 360° Junior College Map with the aim to assist Freshers in finding their way around the campus. Pulse in KSJC will install additional plugs in the Junior College Foyer. Pulse in KSJC promises to adequately revamp the Junior College Games Room by means of painting the surrounding walls, installing an Xbox console, a new television, new plugs and sofas. Pulse in KSJC will collaborate with Parliamentary Secretariat for Sports, Youth and Small Organisations to resurface the Basketball court and install perspex to separate basketball and table tennis activities.


SOCIAL POLICY Pulse in KSJC will donate retractable banners to the JC Theatre Group & JC Orchestra whilst also introducing a kitchenette and upgraded seating at Chrisco. Pulse in KSJC will organise the first-ever ‘Conference on Digital Gaming’. Pulse in KSJC will continue on the efforts made by the previous council by working with the IT Department to provide a stronger Wi-Fi connection in the Junior College Canteen, Games Room and other main areas. Pulse in KSJC will properly refurbish and maintain the Music Room to be fully accessible for the JC Orchestra. Pulse in KSJC will be the council to give new life to the Junior College Youth Hub by installing comfortable seating, a new table soccer, plugs and a revamped notice board system for all organisations. Pulse in KSJC will re-introduce the ‘Yearly Sports League’ in collaboration with the Sports Department.

SECRETARY Pulse in KSJC will work to introduce a new chill-out area behind the 11-a-side football ground consisting of a new and durable gazebo, upgraded benches and seating together with artificial turf for maximum comfort. Pulse in KSJC will initiate discussions with the student body on the subject of recreational use of marijuana, then compile a report to be presented to Parliamentary Secretariat for Reforms, Citizenship and Simplification of Administrative Processes. Pulse in KSJC will increase the number of left-handed seats in the college. Pulse in KSJC will explore the possibility of upgrading and maintaining the Gazebo at the Junior College Pjazza. Pulse in KSJC will invest in the Green Area outside the basement by upgrading benches where necessary and installing new tents. Pulse in KSJC will explore the possibility of installing new seating outside the Study Area.

FINANCIAL Pulse in KSJC will aim to introduce a Clothes Bin at the Junior College, where one can deposit any unwanted clothing. Pulse in KSJC will invest to increase the level of personal hygiene in the college by providing hand-sanitizers in all toilets. Pulse in KSJC will continue to extend the range of PS4 games in the Games Room. Pulse in KSJC will donate a wider range of second hand books to the Study Garden Book Box. Pulse in KSJC will further pursue debate and discussion with respect to the current electoral system by means of a series of informative workshops and questionnaires. Pulse in KSJC will initiate discussions with the administration to offer students a safer environment by installing CCTV cameras across public areas, thus further increasing campus security.

PUBLIC RELATIONS Pulse in KSJC will collaborate with local DJs by offering DJ courses to Junior College students. Pulse in KSJC will work to upgrade the current outdoor courts by means of adding new seating and benches in the area as well as installing a net to separate basketball and tennis activities. Pulse in KSJC will work with the administration to develop a sleeping policeman around the Junior College ring-road in the interest of student health and safety. Pulse in KSJC will increase the number of charging bays across the campus. Pulse in KSJC will embark on a rebranding process to enhance and revive the council’s image, both online by means of a new website and social media together with merchandise and other promotional material. Pulse in KSJC work with the administration to introduce the fire-drill at the Junior College to increase awareness and educate students should there be the need.

EDUCATION Pulse in KSJC will continue safeguarding students’ social health by organising the first-ever ‘Say No To Drugs Campaign’. Pulse in KSJC will initiate discussions with the administration to allocate an area where the Junior College Manga Club can carry-out their activities. Pulse in KSJC will collaborate with the ‘FreeHour’ app to create the concept of ‘Class Groups’ whereby students are able to enlist themselves within a group and automatically come in contact with their classmates. Pulse in KSJC will collaborate with the administration to re-introduce the concept of a Quiet Area. Pulse in KSJC will revamp the ‘KSJC Complaint System’ by distributing a biannual survey whilst setting up an online survey throughout the year. Pulse in KSJC will liaise with the administration so as to increase the number of fans in the Junior College Library.


CULTURE & ENTERTAINMENT Pulse in KSJC will set-up its very own Events Committee who will assist the council in the preparation of events, logistics and promotion. Pulse in KSJC will organise the first-ever Comedy Festival at Junior College. Pulse in KSJC will increase the council’s line of merchandise to include official KSJC sweatshirts, polos and hoodies. Pulse in KSJC will organise the second edition of the Lejla JC increasing the variety of acts and new areas for entertainment. Pulse in KSJC will dedicate a week of activities in relation to the Valletta 2018 Foundation responsible for the European Capital of Culture programme, by showcasing art, theatre and musical performances at the Junior College. Pulse in KSJC will collaborate with the Arts Department to renovate and upgrade the resources of the Junior College Art Room.

A SUMMER TO REMEMBER

Pulse in KSJC will organise a ‘World Cup Village’ hangout during the summer tournament, especially dedicated for Junior College students. Pulse in KSJC will organise a full ‘Day in Sicily’ during the summer break for Junior College students. Pulse in KSJC will organise the first-ever ziplining and abseiling event for Junior College students. Pulse in KSJC will organise the first-ever ‘KSJC Triathlon Tournament’. Pulse in KSJC will set up an educational sub-committee responsible to gather initial exam feedback from students. Pulse in KSJC will introduce more recycling bins around the Junior College Ring Road.
