on trees, and community members can take a tag. The tags include personalized gift suggestions for Abbotsford youth, and range from work boots, grocery store gift cards, to clothes and books. The names and wish lists are provided by the Archway Youth Resource Centre, a place for youth and their families who want a helping hand to connect with each other and the community. The youth who receive the gifts are from homes that are far below the poverty line. They may come from single-parent homes or be single parents themselves, some are homeless and couch surfing. Some may be living on their own with no family connection, or they may have aged out of foster care and do not have a place to go for Christmas. “Christmas is an extremely difficult and lonely time for our youth, and now we have COVID on top of it all,” shared Brandy Sundstrom, an Archway Youth Support Worker. “As a non-profit program, we aren’t able to buy gifts for our youth, but we know how little they have, how much they deserve, and how much

look forward to each year. “This year, it’s even more important for us to give back because of the impact that COVID-19 has had on our community,” she said. “Many of the wish tags include items that we take for granted, like the ability to get a haircut. Our Prospera team is happy to be able to contribute in a meaningful way, and we are in awe of the generosity of our members who want to make the holiday season a little brighter for the youth in our community.?” The program is offered at two Prospera branches in Abbotsford, 34630 DeLair Rd., and the West Oaks branch at 32700 South Fraser Way. Once the new and unwrapped gifts are brought back, Prospera staff wrap the gifts, and youth workers at Archway deliver them to the recipients. “Every year, Prospera puts so much detail and heart into coordinating the gifts, checking to make sure they?re equal and topping them up if needed.” “Words can’t express how much we appreciate Prospera and everyone who contributes to making Christmas a little better for our youth,” said Sundstrom.

Meet our AbbyPD Gang Prevention Coordinator and Gang Intervention Team The Abbotsford Police Department Gang Prevention Coordinator, Harpreet Jhinjar, supports the PATHWAYS program through the community engagement and prevention pillars. The PATHWAYS program uses evidence-informed strategies to connect with youth and young adults identified as being at-risk for participation in gangs or other criminal activities. The PATHWAYS program aims to divert these individuals from the criminal lifestyle by providing services that address the underlying causes of the risk factors. The Gang Intervention Team (GIT) provides individualized support and resources to the youth who participate in the PATHWAYS program. These officers take a hands-on approach to work closely with the youth and help guide them towards more positive choices in life. The youth’s family is also encouraged to be an active participant in the process. The Gang Prevention Coordinator and GIT officers work cohesively to provide a more holistic approach to community engagement, prevention and interventions.

The PATHWAYS program follows three guiding principles: 1. Mitigate risk factors and enhance protective factors. 2. Practice cultural responsiveness and ensure that gang prevention initiatives are responsive and inclusive of cultural communities. 3. Foster collaborations to maximize impact and build and strengthen partnerships at all levels. Research indicates that gang involvement evolves over time, and that those who do join gangs tend to have specific risk factors . The identification and understanding of these risk factors help us to determine where and how to focus our efforts. To learn more about PATHWAYS and its mandate, visit https://www.abbypd. ca/pathways. If you would like to make a referral to the PATHWAYS program, complete the referral form on the AbbyPD website under the Gang Strategy section https:// www.abbypd.ca/pathways-referral

As part of this plan, the District launched an online consultation to collect input from residents, businesses, and community stakeholders about their current transportation experiences in Mission and to identify what their future priorities are for the community. The consultation also seeks to learn how the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has changed personal transportation patterns to inform a plan that can better respond to our new normal.

In addition to a short survey, Phase 1 public consultation includes a participatory mapping activity that asks participants to place a pin on a location in Mission where they have personally experienced a transportation issue or barrier and asks them to share their ideas on how to improve it. Feedback collected during this consultation will be used to inform the development of a draft plan in Phase 2. The draft plan will be reviewed, updated, and finalized in the summer of 2021 before being presented to Council in September 2021.

I want to try hardcoare action now : Ananya Panday Budding star and happening star kid Ananya Panday started her career only last year, but she has already bagged four films and several ad-films. She considers finding a fanbase in such a short time is motivational rather than a matter of pressure."One of the the interesting parts about expectation and pressure is these things motivate me. I have a lot of gratitude for that because it is just the beginning of my career, I am just a few films old and I have managed to build a fan following. When I go to public events they come up to me and ask me to say a dialogue or ask for a selfie. I just love all of that! They expect to deliver my best and nothing could be more motivating than that!" Ananya said."I chose to become an actor, so I am living my dream. For an actor, we always need audience, and when we have the support from them, what else do we need?" smiled the actress, who was launched by Karan Johar last year opposite Tiger Shroff in "Student Of The Year 2".Since then, actor Chunky Pandey's 22-years-old daughter has been on a dream run. In about a year and half since her debut release, Ananya has already had two more releases -- "Pati Patni Aur Woh" co-starring Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar, and the digitally-released "Khaali Peeli" opposite Ishaan Khatter. She has also appeared in several ad-films, and worked with Anurag Kashyap is one of them. In her own words, there are many exciting projects lined up for her, too."I am very excited that there is a variety of projects in my pipeline. On one hand, I am doing Shakun (Batra)'s next with Deepika (Padukone) and Siddhant (Chaturvedi) and our Goa schedule was so much fun! I am so looking forward to that (film) because I love both of my co-stars. I am also doing Puri Jagannadh sir's directorial with Vijay Deverakonda and that is a different world altogether," she said.

What worked for me is I decided to swim against the tide: Ayushmann

Acclaimed actor Ayushamnn Khurrana is also a brand today. He attributes his success to his ability to be himself."I believe what has worked for me is that I decided to swim against the tide and was totally myself. I stayed true to who I am in real life while I was at it," he said. The actor says he believed that India was ready to see a different kind of entertaining cinema that was real, relatable and taboo-breaking "because I was ready to see such cinema, and I knew of many people who were having the same dialogue with me".Ayushmann says he is

fortunate that people have loved his brand of cinema, which has hugely contributed to his equity."I believed that India wanted to bring out and talk about societal issues openly. I'm fortunate that the audience loved my brand of cinema, engaged and participated with my beliefs. What people perceive my equity to be today, comes from me being unafraid about my choices as a human being. If I wasn't the man who believed in the things that I have raised my voice for, people would have sensed a disconnect," he said. The National Award-winning actor says his brand of cinema is a mirror image of his personality in real life. "My films are an extension of my personality, my beliefs, my vision for my country. I think people understand that I want to do my best for society, for my fellow citizens and I don't want to fail them ever." he mentioned. Ayushamann says he is going through the best time in his life. "I definitely think that I'm going through the best phase of my career and I want this phase to continue for a long time," admitted the actor.

My upbringing amalgamation of traditional and modern India: Priyanka Chopra

Global icon and Bollywood superstar Priyanka Chopra Jonas says her upbringing has played a crucial role in shaping her personality. "I am a product of traditional India and its ancient wisdom, and modern India and its urban bustle. My upbringing was always an amalgamation of the two Indias and, just as much, of East and West," she said. The actress is gearing up for her upcoming Netflix release The White Tiger along with Rajkummar Rao, and Robert Rodriguez's superhero film We Can Be Heroes.

'Please Find Attached Season 2' an enriching experience : Barkha Singh

Influencer and actress Barkha Singh finds it an enriching experience to play the character of Sanya in the web series Please Find Attached Season 2."It was truly an enriching experience to play Sanya, as her character was so different from myself. I would love to further explore such varied characters, apart from girl next door

roles. At the end of the day, as an actor when we see the love from fans, it is just worth the effort, rewarding, and encouraging for us," Barkha shared. The web series, which talks about workplace romance, has been shot post the lockdown following necessary safety guidelines. The series was recent launched on YouTube and the actress expressed that she is "humbled by all the love and support" coming her way from the viewers.

Working on 'Tenet' finally made me believe in myself : Dimple Kapadiaa

Veteran Bollywood actress Dimple Kapadia was initially hesitant to be part of the new Christopher Nolan biggie, Tenet. However, being a part of the big-budget Hollywood film has instilled a new sense of confidence and belief in her and her craft. "My process of working is fear and nervousness. I don't know how the process unfolds after that," Dimple said, adding that she then relies on her "instinct and the director completely"."My takeaway (after working in the film) is a hell of a lot. It has completely changed my mental make-up. It has made me more confident, wanting to do better roles, work more and made me more positive. It has made me believe in myself finally - Nolan ke saath kaam kiya hai (have worked with Nolan)! It is a beautiful dream that has

come true," she added.Dubbed as "an action epic evolving from the world of international espionage", Nolan's new film takes one on a thrilling time-bending mission with two secret agents, essayed by Robert Pattinson and John David Washington. In the film, Dimple is seen as Priya, who is crucial to the narrative. Her character emerges as deadly person, splashed with various shades of grey "It was lovely (exploring the shades of grey). It was a very lovely surprise, and the way it was written. It is written so beautifully that half the battle is won right there," said the actress, who was discovered at age 14 by Raj Kapoor, and entered the industry with "Bobby" in 1973.Talking about Nolan, the 63-year-old star said: "I was hesitating to do the film because I was not comfortable with myself and my capabilities but after doing a Nolan film, I (realised I) didn't have to worry because he takes care of everything.""Tenet" was originally scheduled to release in July this year, but got postponed several times due to the ongoing pandemic. The film is now scheduled to release in India on December 4."I hope people go to the cinema and see the film. It is absolutely brilliant, the action sequences are fantastic. The drama has to be seen on the big screen. You can't enjoy it on pirated version or small screen," said the actress.

New cabinet focuses on keeping people safe, fighting COVID-19

Premier John Horgan has announced a new cabinet that will focus on keeping people healthy and safe through the COVID-19 pandemic. “The pandemic has turned the lives of British Columbians upside down,” Premier Horgan said. “We have come a long way together, but we have much further to go. This skilled, diverse team is ready to continue our fight against COVID-19 and build an economic recovery that includes everyone.” The new cabinet members are tasked with continuing government’s crossministry response to the pandemic, providing better health care for people and families, delivering affordability and security in B.C.’s communities, and investing in good jobs and livelihoods in a clean-energy future. “I know this is a hard time for British Columbians. COVID-19 has brought challenges unlike any we’ve faced before,” Premier Horgan said. “By putting people first, investing in hospitals and diagnostics, supporting front-line workers and by everyone doing their part to fight this virus, we will make it through, together.” The new cabinet includes 20 ministers and four ministers of state. Gender representation remains balanced. The

An opinion expressed or a demand that might have been made in early October but went nowhere could suddenly re-emerge and be finalised. There can be all sorts of challenges or expectations coming from others. They could simply be pushing you to find out where you stand and what you are prepared to make a commitment to.

An interesting conversation can arise with someone else. They could bring up a subject you thought you had dodged or escaped from. The difference now is that they will be looking for something to take a new direction. This could leave you in a situation of having to carefully analyse all the avenues you can take in the future.

Something you needed to pay attention to and perhaps unexpectedly in early October can now arise again, perhaps unexpectedly. This could be associated with health, general well being or daily routines. The opinion of other people could be involved and that is likely to be in a good way, providing a path to new beginnings.

A situation you have been working at putting into place to create greater underlying peace or security can move ahead at a very steady pace from one thing to another. It could be that you will finally get an agreement you have been looking for. This could be combined with you taking a bit of a risk with something new to you.

You should carefully weigh up the amount of work involved when it comes to making a decision to change the way something has been structured for a long time. Freeing yourself up to some degree is a much better choice than suddenly taking on a situation that is out of the ordinary but seems to provide a new start.

A decision you needed to make unexpectedly in early October could now present itself again. Other facts may have emerged in between time that will now enable you to see a new way of finalising things. You should not take any risks when it comes to financial commitments. There is more than one way to work around this.

You are in an excellent position to weigh up the best way to put a good foundation in place that will enable you to move into enjoying life a bit more from next year after having this underlying seriousness for the last 3 years. It would not be wise though to be convinced to make snap decisions when it comes to finances though.

The New Moon will be in your sign, very likely giving you the sense that something needs to change and that new directions need to be taken. This can be a 2 to 3 year process. Don’t be distracted by any unpredictable behaviour of somebody else or them rebelling. Your focus needs to be intently applied to your own situation.

New opportunities can be developing behind the scenes. If there is something you thought about finishing in early October but nothing came of it, you could either get a second chance or completely different ideas can suddenly emerge. Most important is to not lose sight of your wishes and what you can really afford to do.

New things that you didn’t expect could start to become important, especially if it means you can enjoy yourself more. This will probably mean you will need to free some time up for yourself when it comes to what has normally required your attention. This could prove to be quite a balancing act but one you can deal with.

Don’t take on any new responsibilities on impulse. There is a strong underlying desire for life to change and you could have a sudden insight on what is possible but burdening yourself is not the way you should go. You could sense the long- term future holds promise of greater peace or security. It does. Patience is required.

Future plans that you either first conceived in early October or attempted to put in place without complete success can now suddenly present as a real possibility. Coupled with this is something new which could have a lot to do with feeling more rock solid about what your priorities are and putting in whatever effort is necessary.
