MP Vis Helps Secure Over $600,000 in Funding Towards Environmental Action The Fraser Valley Conservancy was awarded $646,874 in federal funding through the Government of Canada’s Climate Action and Awareness Fund towards their work in community engagement on action against climate change. “After advocating to Environment and Climate Change Minister Wilkinson, I am thrilled that we were able to secure funding for the Fraser Valley Conservancy’s important project,” said MP Vis. Based in Mission, B.C., the Fraser Valley Conservancy’s Close to Home: Connecting Under-Engaged Fraser Valley Communities to Nature-Based Climate Change Actions seeks to provide environmental programming to communities in the Fraser Valley. “The Fraser Valley Conservancy does great work in habitat preservation. Just last summer they teamed up with volunteers from Haven in the Hollow, a local shelter, to clean Windebank Creek, near my office, to maintain a crucial

spawning route for salmon” said MP Vis. “It was crucial that we obtain funding to allow the Fraser Valley C o n s e rvancy to continue their stewardship and habitat recovery work on species at risk and engage our communities on how they can contribute to creating a healthier and greener environment for all of us”. One of the first commitments MP Vis made to constituents in Mission-Matsqui-Fraser Canyon was to ensure the riding received its fair share of funding to protect Fraser River eco-systems for future generations.

B.C. works for more diversity in tech sector

The B.C. government is investing $15 million in the Innovator Skills Initiative (ISI) to prioritize under-represented people in the technology sector.

The ISI, through the StrongerBC Future Leaders program, offers $5,000 for up to 3,000 paid placements at businesses in B.C. that are hiring for tech or tech-related roles. The funding supplements the salary of a new employee. Brenda Bailey, Parliamentary Secretary for Technology and Innovation, is leading stakeholder engagement with people and organizations from underrepresented communities to hear how the B.C. government can prioritize inclusion through the ISI program to help people get their first job in the tech sector.

“Too many well-deserving women, gender-diverse people, Indigenous, Black and people of colour, and other marginalized communities have struggled to enter the growing technology sector and this needs to change,” said Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation. “This work being done by Parliamentary Secretary Bailey will help create a more diverse tech sector and provide people with a solid future, with good jobs and opportunities for advancement. By filling talent shortages, B.C. businesses have the opportunity to expand and grow.” Bailey co-founded Canada’s first women-owned and operated video game studio in 2011. As part of her mandate, Bailey is committed to ensuring placements for under-represented people are available in the tech sector by increasing the number of ISI grants, and that B.C.-based tech companies can hire and grow. The engagement sessions will include women and gender-diverse people, Indigenous, Black and people of colour (IBPOC), and people with disabilities, among others. Meetings will take place with various groups, such as Inclusion BC, Black Entrepreneurs and Businesses of Canada Society, Black Business Association of BC, Ethos Lab, MOSAIC, Traction on Demand, First Nations Technology Council, and Jelly Digital Marketing and other identified groups. Consultations started in May and will run until end of June 2021.

“We want to ensure under-represented people have access to the career opportunities that they deserve,” Bailey said. “The B.C. government is proud to provide grants that will help fund up to 3,000 paid positions for people who have historically been under-represented in the tech sector. Filling these jobs will make a positive difference to the B.C. economy, particularly for communities that have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic.” The ISI is administered by Innovate BC, a Crown agency that connects innovators in every industry and region with funding, resources and the support they need to build and grow companies. “B.C. companies need tech talent to succeed in today’s economy,” said Andrew Petter, chair of Innovate BC. “By assisting under-represented people to secure tech jobs, the ISI program creates a double benefit – it opens doors of opportunity for workers while helping B.C. businesses to grow and thrive.” Feedback collected through the engagement process will be used to shape the ISI program to ensure it prioritizes inclusion and will be more accessible to under-represented people. Consideration is also being given to how to make the program simpler for businesses to use through modifications like streamlining administrative requirements and accessing talent and funding more quickly. Applications are expected to open in summer 2021 for placements to the program in fall 2021. “I believe the power of this program is that of opportunity. Creating tech job opportunities for women and nonbinary people, Indigenous and Black people, people of colour and others is a brilliant way to support those hardest hit during the pandemic,” said Jackee Kasandy, co-founder of Black Entrepreneurs and Businesses of Canada Society. “Getting a meaningful job that matches a person’s training or education can make all the difference to their well-being.” The Innovator Skills Initiative program is part of B.C.’s StrongerBC Future Leaders program that will invest close to $45 million to provide skills training and employment opportunities for more than 5,000 young people across British Columbia.

New report shows B.C. steering toward 2040 EV infrastructure goals British Columbia is charging ahead in expanding its electric vehicle (EV) charging network with more than 50% of the public fast-charging sites required to meet the province’s 2040 demand already built or underway.

province. As of December 2020, B.C. had 205 fast-charging sites built or underway. Budget 2021 provided an additional $8.5 million to continue expanding B.C.’s public charging network through rebates provided to Indigenous and local governments “A record number of British Columand B.C. businesses that are investing bians are adopting electric vehicles in public fast-charging stations. for a quieter ride, cleaner air and lower fuel costs, and we’re making “People across the province are sure we have the public infrastructure switching to electric vehicles in reneeded to support this uptake,” said cord numbers, thanks to CleanBC Bruce Ralston, Minister of Energy, programs,” said George Heyman, Mines and Low Carbon Innovation. Minister of Environment and Climate “We are on track to meet our goals Change Strategy. “Our government is for 2040 with more than half of the planning for a cleaner, low-carbon fufast-charging sites needed already ture where all new cars are emission with one or more stations built.” free and reliable charging stations are readily available right across the province to support users.”

More than 54,400 EVs are on the road in B.C., leading to an estimated 216,000 tonnes in emission reductions per year. To support the growing number of EVs in the province, the BC Public Light-Duty Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Study will serve as a guide for municipalities, First Nations communities and the private sector to invest in further expansion of the fast-charging and hydrogen-fuelling network in B.C. by identifying where and how many fast-charging or hydrogen-fuelling stations are needed for drivers to safely and easily travel around B.C. According to the report, the number of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) forecast in B.C. by 2040 may reach over 2.5 million. This vehicle population will require approximately 400 fast-charging sites throughout the

The report also identifies important criteria to be considered by public charger developers when planning station sites, such as distances that allow for travel under challenging weather conditions, accessibility for drivers with diverse physical abilities and around-theclock availability of stations in welllit areas. The Province is providing rebates through its CleanBC Go Electric programs to ensure the increasing demand for ZEVs is supported by building out the public charging network, as well as through rebates for home and workplace charging infrastructure. B.C. has one of the largest public-charging networks in Canada. CleanBC is a pathway to a more prosperous, balanced and sustainable future. It supports government’s commitment to climate action to meet B.C.’s emission targets and build a cleaner, stronger economy for everyone.

Customer service, digital skills training offered virtually Up to 36 eligible British Columbians will get skills training, in three separate intakes, to prepare them for jobs in customer service and office administration in the Lower Mainland. This is a new Community and Employer Partnerships (CEP) project from the Government of British Columbia. Participant recruitment is focused on youth, Indigenous individuals, immigrants and individuals with multiple barriers to employment. “We’re committed to providing all British Columbians with skills training and employment opportunities so they’re able to find good-paying jobs to support themselves and their families,” said Nicholas Simons, Minister of Social Development and Poverty Reduction. “As the labour market recovers, there will be a greater need for skilled administrative and customer service workers around the province.” The Province is providing more than $385,000 to Douglas College to deliver skills and certification courses virtually as part of its customer service/digital skills training program. Participants will receive 11 weeks of essential and occupational skills training, four weeks of on-the-job work experience and two weeks’ followup support to assist in their job search. They will also receive certification courses in basic computer skills, Microsoft Office 365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat/Reader and SuperHost, as well as diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Graduates of the program will be qualified to work as administrative officers, data entry clerks, office support workers, call centre workers and sales representatives.

Virtual town hall focuses on safe return to campus “Vaccination” was the word of the day as Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer, and her team answered questions posed by student leaders at a virtual town hall hosted by Thompson Rivers University. In partnership with the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training, the recent town hall connected B.C.’s top public health official with the Alliance of BC Students and the British Columbia Federation of Students, Indigenous student associations and student unions from 25 public postsecondary institutions. Following on the heels of BC’s Restart plan, Henry spoke about how vaccine effectiveness has reinforced confidence in a full return to campus for postsecondary institutions in the fall. “We are in a different place now than we were a year ago and even a few months ago,” Henry said. The town hall, the second of its kind, was held to give post-secondary student leaders an opportunity to discuss public health guidance in the COVID-19 Return-to-Campus Primer released in April and to prepare for in-person learning in September 2021.

They also emphasized the low risks of structured, seated environments like university lecture halls and classrooms, that Canada has safely welcomed international students throughout the pandemic, and how B.C. has a particularly robust system for managing outbreaks of a variety of diseases over many years. “Helping students feel comfortable is going to be one of our biggest jobs,” said Dr. Réka Gustafson, deputy provincial health officer, acknowledging that everyone has different comfort levels about returning to campus. “We’ve all been through a fundamental experience together. We’ve asked you to think about COVID-19 in everything you do, every single day. We had to. But now we need to help people build a shared understanding of what has changed. And immunization has fundamentally changed the risk and the equation.” Henry encouraged students to spread the message of the importance of getting vaccinated and to continue practising all they have learned over the past year to stay COVID-19 free, such as following campus safety plans, performing a daily health check and staying home when sick, wearing masks as required, following handwashing and hygiene etiquette, and following public health orders and guidelines on and off campus.

At the town hall, one student asked, “Will everyone have to wear masks on campus?” Another wanted to know about social clubs and activities. Others asked about how future outbreaks might be handled, while others wanted to know about the rules for internaLater this month, COVID-19 returntional students and quarantine. to-campus guidelines will be released, The public health officer and her providing updated public health guiddeputy emphasized the importance ance for a safe return to campus as the of students having access to their province continues BC’s Restart plan.

Faculty Service Excellence 2021: Satwinder Bains’ impact is mighty at UFV and beyond

A

visionary leader with an unshakable commitment to equality and cultural justice, Dr. Satwinder Bains is the 2021 recipient of UFV’s Faculty Service Excellence Award.“As a woman of colour, not only is she smashing glass ceilings of patriarchy within academia, but also in conservative cultural spaces,” says Anita Lal, co-founder and director of the Poetic Justice Foundation, and one of Bains’ many nomination references. “With each win she brings down barriers for future generations of women.” And as her robutst CV attests, Bains is no stranger to putting in the hard work it takes to make a difference. An early association with Abbotsford Community Services led to connections at UFV, inspiring Bains to join the university more than a decade ago. Today, she is as an associate professor in the department of Social Cultural and Media Studies. In addition to teaching, she made an immediate impact by spearheading a $2.25M donation drive crucial to establishing the BC Regional Innovation Chair in Canada-India Partnership Development — and with it UFV’s South Asian Studies Institute, which she has guided as director since 2006. That same year saw the establishment of UFV India, powered by the efforts of DJ Sandhu, with Bains working closely alongside. She served as director of UFV India from 2013-2017 before ascending to principal through 2019, making frequent trips to the campus in Chandigarh, located down a winding drive from her picturesque hometown of Shimla. “I never dreamt we’d have a campus in India, that we’d have international students constantly coming, and that’s been such a beautiful extension of our ideas,” says Bains, a 2015 recipient of the Order of Abbotsford. Even with her days and nights packed with meetings, mentorship, research, and teaching, Bains never loses focus

on effectively collaborating across boundaries, contributing to engaging learners, transforming lives, and building community. “At the South Asian Studies Institute, we’re trying to be very relevant to society. We aren’t just barriers and a moat; we’re a porous space that has to allow ideas to filter in and out and we spend time studying those ideas. My own personal motivation is to be relevant, to be in the here and now, to be current, but while understanding my past.”

and weaken others then society is “I have a very strong belief in diverweakened.” sity,” she says. It’s a commitment witnessed firsthand by The Reach Gallery Museum executive director Laura Schneider through their work together with Abbotsford’s Sikh Heritage Museum. “Satwinder’s contributions spark both individual and collective transformation,” Schneider says, calling Bains “an enlightened civic leader in our community whose work contributes greatly to the reputation of UFV locally, nationally, and internationally.”

That intergenerational connectivity drives Bains’ tireless study of South Asian Canadian experience in Canada, including a diaspora with uniquely continuous ties to India — but her focus isn’t simply backfilling In addition to The Reach, Bains has the past. also collaborated with the Abbots“We haven’t spent the right amount ford Community Foundation, the FV of time, or studied the right kind of Indo-Canadian Business Association, history. I feel the study of Canada is the Vancouver Maritime Museum, so important, because within Canada the Royal BC Museum in Victoria, we call on multicultural communities and Hockey Night in Canada, and of people to understand each one as a link to each other. So if I’m strong, served as a commissioner of the BC and there’s somebody else who’s Agricultural Land Commission and strong we’re a better society. But if as a bencher on the Law Society of I’m strong and I pull others down BC. All this, while contributing to her successful blueberry farm with her husband Parm and loving family.

“The more people that are at the table with diverse ideas, allows us all to learn and benefit from that. The whole idea of civilization is that we’re evolving, and at no point should we feel we’ve evolved to a point of no change. I see myself as an agent of change, I do appreciate that change can happen and I appreciate the value this university gives me to be an agent of change, because once your mind is expanded to a new idea it never goes back.” By teaching at UFV and guiding research through SASI, Bains continuously gifts those same motivations to a new generation of learners. “It’s those seeds that you lay on the way,” she explains. “A single person can’t do everything. I see the university as a very important part of the community. I’m simply a sum of all its parts.” PAGE 17

Dad sits with me during script narrations : Mrunal Thakur

Actress Mrunal Thakur says that her parents are an active part of her career and she wouldn't like it any other way. She adds that her dad sits with her during her narrations and gives his inputs, too. "They were hesitant in the beginning. But now, during a narration, my father sits next to me and gives his input. When I was a kid, he used to take care of my textbooks and school notebooks, and now he takes care of the script," she said. The actress adds that her parents get very excited when they see her on screen. "Every time on TV, if they are surfing or on YouTube, my commercial comes, they will go screaming, 'you on the TV!' They are very proud of me. Even today, when an ad or a song comes, they get so excited and happy. The joy I can feel and see is something that keeps me going and helps me contribute towards good cinema," she says. Talking about how she got them on board with her when it came to being an actress, Mrunal explains: "My family was afraid of the industry, but I always made sure that I had conversations with my parents so they know where I am filming and that their daughter is safe. In today's generation, a lot of my friends don't get along with their parents and they don't have that communication. When there is a gap between you are your parents, it causes baggage. I was transparent and they always supported me."

`Gangs of Wasseypur` trio reunites for an ad Pankaj Tripathi is usually wary of brand endorsements, finding little joy in facing the camera for a 30-second ad. But he was uncharacteristically excited when an endorsement for a mustard oil brand came his way. Reason — it was to reunite him with his 'Gangs of Wasseypur' (2012) co-stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Manoj Bajpayee. The actor shot for the ad with Siddiqui at a Mumbai studio in March. A source from the production reveals, “Nawazuddin and Pankaj were excited to face the camera together after a long time. The two could not stop reminiscing about working on 'Gangs of Wasseypur'. The shoot, conducted with a slim team of 30 and in compliance with the safety norms, was wrapped up in a day.” Unfortunately, Bajpayee — who fronted the first edition of Anurag Kashyap’s crime drama as Sardar Khan — could not join the duo on the set as he was down with Covid-19 at the time. The source adds, “After recovering, Manoj shot his portion separately against a green screen at home. The ad will be released soon.”

Shaadisthan: Kirti Kulhari all set to take you on a life-changing journey We need to stay positive until these Four young and free-spirited musicians, a bad times pass : Salman small-town couple, their

young daughter and one camper van. An eye-opening encounter. 'Shaadisthan' - An unforgettable journey from Mumbai to a small town in Rajasthan shows how unconventionality doesn’t equate to being morally wrong. An eighteen-year-old Arshi finds herself caught between her parents' wishes while wanting to live life on her terms. Amidst the family chaos, Arshi and her parents Sanjay and Kamla Sharma take a road trip with four musicians - Freddie, Imaad, Sasha and Jigme and are exposed to a whole new way of living. When two generations with opposing beliefs come together - one representing freedom of choice and the other guarding the beauty of tradition – will this 24-hour drive turn into something really unexpected? Featuring an ensemble cast of talented artists, the movie stars Kirti Kulhari, Medha Shankar, Nivedita Bhattacharya and more along with real-life musicians Shenpenn Khymsar, Apurv Dogra and Ajay Jayanthi. Versatile actor Kay Kay Menon also makes a special appearance. Directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary and co-produced by Famous Studios and Opticus INC, 'Shaadisthan' will leave audiences thinking about their own perceptions of traditions and the modern world. 'Shaadisthan' releases this 11th June 2021 exclusively for subscribers of Disney+ Hotstar VIP and Disney+ Hotstar Premium under the banner of Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has shared words of encouragement for fans facing various crises amidst the ongoing second wave of the Covid pandemic. "I would just like to say that we all need to stay positive and hold the fort until these bad times pass. This is a phase and it shall pass. I know all of us are going through very critical times, we must have faith and help each other in whatever way we can," Salman said. Meanwhile, he is excited about his popular "Dabangg" avatar of Inspector Chulbul Pandey getting an animated avatar on the small screen. "Dabangg: The Animated Series" will be created keeping in mind his young fans. "Dabangg: The Animated Series" is an adaptation and reimagination of 'Dabangg'. The action-comedy series chronicles the dayto-day life of police officer Chulbul Pandey, who stands in the face of evil to keep the city safe. He is joined by his younger brother Makkhi, who, new to the police force, attempts to emulate his older brother in every sticky situation," Salman said. Quizzed if he is lending his voice to the lead character of Chulbul Pandey, the actor replied: "Unfortunately I am not lending the voice to the character in the animated series, but fans wouldn't be disappointed because the voiceover actors have done a fantastic job."

Actor Kajal Aggarwal, who has cemented her space in Indian showbiz with high-profile films across the southern and Hindi film industry, has been chosen to lead the cast of 'Uma', a slice of life film to be directed by Tathagata Singha. The film is a feel-good family drama, set in an aristocratic household with a wedding backdrop where the entire family assembles. The drama unfolds through the multifaceted characters in the house with the arrival of a stranger Uma. Kajal, who started her film career back in 2004 with Bollywood, has over the years emerged as one of the most formidable names in the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film industries. She is looking forward to starting work on the new movie. 'Uma', produced by Avishek Ghosh (AVMA MEDIA) & Mantraraj Paliwal (MIRAJ GROUP), is slated to be shot in a start-to-finish schedule in the second half of 2021, keeping all Covid-19 protocols in consideration. The other cast members are going to be revealed soon. The actor says, "Very happy to be collaborating with AVMA Media, Avishek Ghosh and director Tathagata Singha, on an extremely interesting film titled 'Uma'." She added, "I Look forward to commencing shoot as soon as the situation around us gets better. I’m always keen to give a green signal to scripts that are fun, entertaining yet challenging for me as an actor. I’m excited to share ‘Uma’ with all of you!"

Change for the better: New habits to keep post-lockdown (NC) Spending more time at home means many of us have developed new habits or taken up new hobbies. With lockdown rules loosening, you may find your lifestyle changing to reflect a returning sense of freedom. Here are some healthy habits to consider keeping post-lockdown. Make time for hobbies Did you learn to bake during lockdown? Take on any DIY projects? Whether it was cooking more, completing a 1,000-piece puzzle or writing the next great Canadian novel, we all found unique ways to upgrade our skills or occupy our time at home. While it’s tempting to zone out in front of the TV or laptop after work, keep making space for your new activities to help reduce stress. Practice self care at home Staying healthy during COVID-19 is often about prevention, which is why it’s so important to remain vigilant about the aspects of your health you can control — like your oral health. “In a time when your next visit to the dentist or hygienist may be uncertain, it’s important to maintain a daily routine of brushing and flossing to prevent tooth decay and promote gum health,”

explains Dr. Thomas Nguyen, assistant professor in periodontology at McGill. The oral health products you use play a part, so consider switching to a toothpaste like the new Colgate Renewal Gum Revitalize, which features a specialized formula that helps reverse early gum damage.

Protect your time With more of us working from home, it can sometimes feel like we are living at work. Boundaries have blurred between work and personal time, making it important to protect your time and say “no” to asks from colleagues, bosses and clients that come after work hours. If “no” became part of your vocabulary during lockdown, don’t be afraid to keep using it when life returns to normal, especially if you’re uncomfortable accepting invitations to social events, patio visits or family gatherings.

You can come up with some inventive solutions when it comes to finances required for anything you want to put in place. You ideas can be clever, yet practical. This can also apply to conversations or agreements that you might need to enter into. It all may take more time than you initially anticipate to arrive at a final conclusion.

The New Moon this week occurs in your sign providing you with the opportunity to take new directions with something important to you on a personal level. It may also bring an opportunity you do not expect. You could be unusually forthright with something you have to say. There maybe the need to deal with technology as well.

Mental clarity when it comes to future goals worth pursuing may make you realise that what somebody else expects is not necessarily for you. Don’t expect to have all of the answers just yet. Some sort of initial commitment may be necessary from now until late July. This may not become rock solid until January to May next year.

New opportunities to take action on something that is an important priority to you can present itself quite surprisingly. This may involve a group of people in some way. Somebody who is in a position to support you will willingly do so. This might require some behind the scenes communication. It will be one step at a time.

Don’t presume there to be a totally straightforward path when it comes to any new commitments involving other people. It would be wise of you to verbalise what is important to you. Exactly what others expect from their connection to you will be difficult to know just now. This could become more obvious from late July.

You are in a good position to streamline daily routines by dropping anything that takes too much time. This can alter your commitments mainly because you will focus on your priorities more. Activity with others will increase significantly to late July. This could also include forming beneficial relationships and gaining recognition.

time to time but you should not let them stop you altogether. Have regular exercise and watch overindulgence to late July. Weight gain will be easy.

want to refuse but you will need to know how this could be put into place successfully. Make room for them to change their mind up to mid July.

Some very constructive exchange of ideas between you and others can occur. This can involve some sort of underlying change of structure for you up to late July. It can take all of this time to get something fully sorted to your satisfaction. Be careful about being too generous of yourself and ending up with most of the work.

Being diligent with work that needs to be done can bring some stable financial results. You could also generate financial improvement through taking a closer look at your spending. Changes on a pleasurable or social level could bring new people into your life that can be different to normal but interesting at the same time.

Commit yourself to anything you think you might enjoy. It could take until mid July to either fully find out or settle yourself into it. You could suddenly find the energy to get to work on something you want to restructure. This could include matters to do with home and family. You need to be mindful of financial costs attached.

You will initially begin a new 12 Year Cycle with Jupiter, your ruling planet moving into your sign until the 28th July. This will be stage one – stage two will occur late December to May 2022. New ideas can spring to mind that will give you a sense of optimism that may have been lacking of late. A new you can begin to emerge.

Obituary sLok smfcfr

Major Singh Dhillon passed away peacefully on June 2, 2021. He was son of late Sardar Jagraj Singh and Karnail Kaur Dhillon. He is survived by his wife Parkash Kaur Dhillon. They were married for almost 60 years and together they raised four children, Narinder (Jaspal), Pritpal (Jalaur), Amardeep (Randeep) and Gagan (Alvinder), and 9 grandchildren. Major Singh was from Jorki Andhewali (Fazilka) Punjab, India. From a very young age, he had a strong passion for the academics. He graduated from Government College in Ludhiana with his Bachelor of Education and went on to complete his Masters in English. He used his education and skills to enrich the lives of other students as a Headmaster at High School for 27 years until 1991 when he immigrated to Canada. His thirst for knowledge continued and he learnt everything he could about Canada and it’s culture. He didn’t drive but could give someone directions to anywhere. He was always curious and loved to travel and explore new places. He was a prominent member of the Sikh community and devoted many years to seva at the Gurdwara and often volunteered his interpreter services to those who needed. He loved watching Curling, Golf and Tennis and would even get up in the middle of the night to watch a Tennis match when it was in a different time zone. Major Singh was a devoted patriarch of his family, a role he took pride in. He loved his family unconditionally and was invested in his grandchildren’s upbringing from walking them to school as young kids to instilling in them the importance of education. His face lit up when his other grandkids visited him. Family dinners will never be the same, his family will always cherish the memories they have of him. Private funeral will be held on June 12 followed by prayers at Kalgidhar Gurudwara, Abbotsford at 2 pm. Family encourages you to donate to Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory.
