Premier David Eby Visits Guru Nanak Food Bank, Expresses Support for Future Plans

The Guru Nanak Food Bank in Delta received a visit from Premier David Eby, Mayor George V Harvie, and Minister Harry Bains. The board of directors welcomed the Premier upon his arrival and General Secretary Neeraj Walia gave him a tour of the store.

During the tour, the Premier expressed his appreciation for the food bank's efforts in providing not only basic groceries but also other essential items like baby food. He was impressed by how the GNFB keeps in mind all the basic necessities of the person.

Mr. Walia informed the Premier that the food bank has successfully helped over 10,000 recipients every month with the help of generous donors. The Premier encouraged the food bank team to keep up the good work and thanked President Gyani Narinder Singh for his vision to help mankind. He also expressed his support for the food bank's future plans to start a mobile food bank and establish a permanent store in Delta. In his speech, Sir David Eby said that the government will always be present to help the food bank however possible.

Mayor George V Harvie informed everyone that the City of Delta will arrange a permanent new store or land for the food bank once its lease ends for the current location.

Minister of Labour Harry Bains expressed his pride in being a part of such a community that always stands up to help humanity wherever and whenever needed.
