General Process First, you should settle on a property, and make an offer to the seller. Then a Reservation Contract should be drawn up, which is a contract of sale. You will put down a deposit, and the property will be off the market for a

few weeks. Your lawyer should then review the contract, and do further investigations to make sure everything is legally sound. The property should be surveyed, and all of the taxes by the seller must be paid. Your lawyer can help you with this process. If everything clears, you will need to sign the Final Contract of Sale/Title Deed. You will need to pay the rest of the balance to the seller, as well as necessary fees and taxes. You must register your new property with the Land Registry of the Dominican Republic. A young Stephane Francese arrives in the Dominican Republic in early 1999 from Italy, looking for fun and adventure. The Titles Registry is the office in charge to register all Real Estate rights over the properties, guarding the correct application of Law within its competence. The main documents registered before this institution are: a) documents that transfer, transmit, declare, modify or extinguish rights over the properties; b) documents that impose liens, charges and provisional measures over them; c) documents that may determine administrative and legal limitations in particular manner over the properties, or in any way restrict or limit freedom of disposition over the property; and d) rights of condominiums. Before closing a purchase contr in Real
