CHARITIES // PureWest Gives Back

PureWest

Acommunity is strongest when we all pull together to support it. Our PureWest team is personally invested in making the places we live and work the best that they can be. We give our time and resources to a variety of local organizations that do so much to improve the places we call home and the lives of those we share them with. Though the list of nonprofits we support goes on and on, here’s a shout-out to three organizations doing great work in Montana.

One Valley Community Foundation

The One Valley Community Foundation takes a bird’s eye view of the issues facing communities in and around the Gallatin Valley, focusing resources to make the greatest positive change while also helping communities retain their unique character. Over the past 20 years, they’ve raised and distributed almost $7 million to local nonprofits, while also facilitating trainings and collaborations to assist the organizations in their good work. PureWest supports One Valley’s efforts through sponsorships of their major fundraising event, Give Big Gallatin Valley. PureWest was 2019 and 2020 Prize Sponsor, supporting the event as well as funding one of the cash prizes awarded to a nonprofit organization.

Emma’s House

At Emma’s House, in Hamilton, a highly-trained team of counselors and medical professionals helps young victims of abuse in Ravalli County become children again. As an accredited Children’s Advocacy Center, they streamline the investigative process in cases of child abuse and neglect, providing compassionate care to the children involved and helping the healing process begin. One extra-special friendly face at the front door is Twyla, a trained service dog who has been comforting kids with her calm demeanor since 2016. Local PureWest agent Christina Dunbar served two terms on the Emma’s House board of directors; she and other agents, most notably Bobbi Lockhart and Kerry Hanson, continue to volunteer with Emma’s house as well as supporting their events and other fundraising efforts.

Samaritan House

Samaritan House, a homeless shelter and transitional living program in Kalispell, works diligently to end homelessness in the Flathead Valley. They provide for people’s basic needs while also fostering self-respect and human dignity, providing a supportive environment along with practical assistance, including budgeting, employment, life skills, medical care, and nutrition. Samaritan House has dedicated housing space for individuals, families, and veterans, as well as permanent apartments for people who complete the shelter program. They are dedicated to helping each individual or family who comes through their doors overcome their obstacles and find stability. PureWest is a proud sponsor of Samaritan House’s annual Cowboy Up auction fundraiser.
