CHIAROSCURO
“The interplay of light and shadow on or as if on a surface” pronunciation: /kiˌɑːrəˈskjʊəroʊ/
Trying to capture the essence of Weaves and Waves, “Chiaroscuro” is a kinetic installation which showcases a combination of order and chaos at the same time through Form Interaction. It depicts a wavelike free flowing movement which creates visual intersecting patterns.

FORM EXPLORATION
Starting with a singular form, we multiplied it and varied the orientations, sizes, and placements to create 3 Dimensional form - counterform spaces ( modules ). These modules create different patterns by intersecting / interacting with each other when placed and oriented differently.

Mechanism Explorations Required Motion: Translation + Rotation The Rotational Motion was achieved by attaching the forms to a Rack and Pinion Mechanism. For the Translational Motion several mechanisms were explored and experiments were done with their positions
