Through the doors God has opened to us, the various CreaComm components have worked with 43 local & global partners (including 14 churches) to 'bring the unchanging gospel to this changing generation' this past year. This is the mission He's called us to, and we want to continue to pursue it as He enables us. We're thankful for the many opportunities given to us to train, inspire, perform, connect, preach, and more... But most of all, we're grateful for the ways God has used us to minister His love to those He led us to. One of the greatest joys we have experienced as a ministry is seeing how God has led various individuals to join in our mission as volunteers. All of them come 'bringing their offering' -- their time with us is really an act of worship unto the Lord. Through their gifts and talents, each of them play such a critical role in helping fulfill the God-given tasks in this ministry. In the past 2 years alone, we have seen about 126 volunteers come to be a part of this movement in CreaComm. In this issue of MGC, we honour them (and God, who has called them) as we highlight their stories. Be blessed as you read them. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our generous donors and prayer supporters. Many of you have encouraged us from time to time, and we're grateful. You play an important part in helping us stay faithful to God's call upon our lives and ministry. Thank you! Lillian and I want to wish you and your family a God-blessed Christmas, and Happy New Year. =)

Volunteer with ForeRunner (Snooze)
I have witnessed God in action (at Snooze’s gigs) on many occasions, and it is a very encouraging experience especially when everything else around you wears you thin. Snooze particularly reaches out to youth, especially those at risk. I find that youth, in general, have a really stoic face when you talk to them. They seem uninterested, bored, and even put-off at times. However, at a gig in one of the polytechnics, the students were even more enthusiastic about engaging me than I was with them! Behind all those ‘act-cool’ facades and bored faces, I realized the students were really interested in the good news and life stories we were sharing.

Volunteer with WAP
I joined WAP initially to meet new people and pick up skills along the way. My involvement with them really fired up my passion for film. It was the first time I've heard of people using film as a pre-evangelistic tool. The idea is so powerful, I wonder why no one has ever done so until recently. In May this year, I teamed up again with WAP to join the 48-Hour Film Project (48HFP). Having already worked in the film industry for some time then, I knew in my mind a great film couldn’t be done in 48 hours, no way. But it turned out to be THE smoothest shoot I've ever been on, with the tightest deadline! We had a great mix of ministry members and volunteers. By God's grace, none of the problems we experienced were crippling. We kept on praying (when we could have been rushing). And we won “Best Film 2009”! With God all things are possible! On a personal level, it was the first award for a film I’ve ever won, and it... feels... awesome. Praise be to God. (Ian was the Assistant Director of "Is There Money In This?", the film created in the 48HFP.)

Elsewhere in CREACOMM... At Creative Communications Office (CCO), apart from day-to-day operations and providing administrative support to other CreaComm components, we also provide churches and ministry partners with tools that are relevant for this generation. Each speaking engagement we receive from our partners gives us the opportunity not only to deliver a message, but also to bring resources which they can use and bless others with. We desire to make our resources available to the community by bringing them to the venue where the speaking engagement is held, recommending materials that might meet the needs of their target audience, and constantly pointing them to new innovations and products. In recent months, we have set up resource booths at Varsity Christian Fellowship's National Student Leaders Conference '09, Bethesda Frankel Estate Church and Foochow Methodist Church, where our film ministry's recent release, Heart2Heart, a collection of seven short films on DVD, has been quite well-received. At the end of the day, it is not just about trying to get our resources into the market. We firmly believe in transforming lives through biblical resources.
