How many of us were told to get an education, find a good job and work hard to eventually one day retire with enough money to not have to worry anymore? The American journalistic source, CBS, reports that from a universe of 100 million full-time workers in the wealthiest country on the planet, 51% of those are disengaged from their jobs, therefore only doing the bare minimum to not get fired. Millions of people living just doing enough to get by, many of them die in their early 20`s and are only declared dead when they are 80‌ because life ends when they make the decision to settle for what they were given. It`s not all, accordingly to an article published by Bloomberg, 35% of people between the ages of 65 and 69 were still employed in 2017. We can say that some of them work past retirement because they enjoy what they`re doing‌ But, I wouldn`t be that optimistic!

I could talk about how this traditional approach benefits political groups and institutions but is not even worth it to go that path, instead, I`m here to tell you why this approach doesn`t work anymore. From my personal experience, I can say that going to college was a waste of time, not to say that you shouldn`t go, but I spent one year of my life trying to learn something that could help me be successful in business and in life one day. In an accounting and economics degree, there`s wasn’t a single course on success, money, sales or on how to influence people. Realizing that I was preparing myself for an unfulfilling career and one that could potentially be gone in a few years due to automation, the decision was to become part of the statistics known as a college dropout. How about the endless hours stuck in a real estate selling job? Being told what to do, working for somebody else`s dreams, that certainly wasn’t my ultimate goal in life. The truth is that is all starts with our parents… “Mom, I`m gonna be a public speaker…” and your she says “go finish your homework!” “Mom, look I`m gonna get rich one day and I`m gonna help a lot of people”… your mom answers, saying “son, don`t need to do that, we love you just the way you are!”

We go through life without freedom of choice and thinking that the traditional approach is the only way to do it… it`s not our fault, the only thing that we are responsible for is to realize that there are alternatives out there and still believing that they are not real, therefore not taking action on our goals. Society has been brainwashing millions of people with enough potential to change the world… …. there`s not a shortage of choices, there is a shortage of people who think big and act towards their desired lifestyle and wildest dreams.
