Discharge The discharge process involves several activities and departments. Your nurse will assist you in the discharge process. An approval from your treating consultant is required to start the discharge process. Normally the discharge takes place after the period specified in the package. However, actual condition and rate of recovery of the patient may hasten or delay the actual date of discharge. On the day of the discharge, you are requested to clear all the dues in the Admission and Billing department. Your nurse will hand over and explain the discharge summary to you as soon as you are ready to leave. She will also explain about the medication you need to continue and any follow-up visits if required. Before your discharge, the dietician will give you advice on your nutritional needs. The physiotherapist will also advise you about the exercise routine that you should observe (if required).
