The concept of urban sanctuary is to produce smart cities where people are becoming ‘digital subjects’ that can be monitored, tracked, controlled, and commodified. Therefore, it has become a necessity to mention the relationship between the sacred and the embodied. Sanctuary can be referred to as protection, shelter, refuge, or oasis that gives users the guarantee of safety in an “urban” area which can be achieved through the incorporation of religious teaching that provides such impact on the environment, creating a positive vibe by avoiding acts that will damage the ecosystem in our world. Thus, there is a need to develop or create a new element to our cities or urban spaces that compile with Islamic teaching which aids in minimizing chaos and thus able to create solutions for living things.
