FORGING MULTIPLE ALLIANCES CENTERED AROUND ADVANCED RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Prairie View A&M University Research and Innovation Vice President Magesh Rajan’s strategic vision for growing the university’s research enterprise focuses on diversifying beyond federal and state funding opportunities. Building major collaborative research partnerships with diverse and strategic partners is an excellent distinction for any institution of higher education.

“We’re very pleased that our efforts have shown significant contributions to the university’s research and innovation portfolio and strategic partnerships,” said Vice President Rajan. Research & Innovation has been dedicated to raising the university’s profile as a research institution while cultivating significant partnerships. PVAMU’s stature in research has steadily risen in recent years, particularly the elevation to a high research activity (R2) doctoral-granting institution in 2022, to be one of only 11 HBCUs.

“I personally take pride in cultivating these relationships for the mutual benefit of our partners as well as our university,” VP Rajan added. “External collaborations are essential for several aspects. One is to bring innovative ideas and challenges for our faculty to pursue new knowledge creation and innovation,” VP Rajan said. “It’s also important to have our faculty researchers contribute to addressing real-world challenges of industries and society in general.”
