It is critical to recognize the value that athletics have as an extremely important part of the educational More importantly, to recognize that our sports programs at PVI are an extension of our mission ministry. As a college-prep school, we strive to run college-prep athletic programs so that our student who are able to combine the right amounts of ability and desire can move to the next level thanks athletic experience. At the same time, a major focus of our athletic program is to help our student develop lasting life skills to use as they move on in college, in a career, as productive members of husbands and wives, and as parents. When you surround your child with the gospel, discipline, truth you can make a difference in his or her life forever. That is the core of our mission. It is easier boys and girls than it is to mend men and women.

Finally, I would like to remind all our spectators to be “good sports.” Be a fan but allow our coaches to coach and let the players play. Let us create a positive environment for all involved: one where studentathletes and parents get the most from their experiences; one where winning is not the only thing; one where opponents and officials are not taunted or humiliated. We want an environment where the emphasis is on positive relationships and learning essential life lessons through hard work, competition, and faith.

...MESSAGE FROM THE COACH
Dear Supporters of Paul VI Boys’ Lacrosse, Greetings, and welcome to the 2023 high school lacrosse season! We are thrilled to have lacrosse back in its complete form! It is truly an honor to take the helm at St. Paul VI Catholic High School as its Head Boys’ Lacrosse Coach.
Our vision for the Paul VI Boys’ Lacrosse Program is to be THE most respected high school lacrosse program in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area. Our program mission is, first and foremost, to help our student-athletes achieve their potential as high-character student-athletes. Secondly, we want our players to learn what it takes to prepare and compete at the highest level, both individually and as part of a team. Finally, we want to help our players attend the best colleges that align with their personal and family goals and help them prepare for success. We are a program that has consistently maintained an average grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher, with over 50% of our athletes achieving a GPA greater than 3.5 each season. We have a 75%-win percentage against a schedule filled with nationally-ranked opponents. Since 2013, our teams have advanced to compete in 6 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) semifinal games, 3 WCAC title games, 6 Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) Division I Final Fours, 3 VISAA championship games, and won the VISAA Division I State Championship in 2018. Our Program has been ranked in the Top 20 National polls in seven of the past nine seasons and The Washington Post High School Lacrosse Top 10 in eight of the last nine seasons. Over the past nine years, our program has produced over 50 NCAA Division I players, more than 25 Division III players, and 2 Division II players.
Our Boys’ Lacrosse Program plays one of the most demanding schedules in the nation. We compete against top regional and nationally ranked teams in two of the top conferences in the country (WCAC and VISAA). We also compete against the leading regional and nationally ranked teams outside the conference. We compete against some of the top teams in the nation in summer and fall off-season high school showcase events attended by coaches from the nation’s top college programs. This provides our players with great recruiting exposure.
Our program priorities are (1) faith and family, (2) academics, and (3) athletics. We encourage our student-athletes to play multiple sports and participate in all the extracurricular activities Paul VI offers. Many of our players serve in the Student Government Association (SGA). Four of the last seven SGA Presidents have been boys’ lacrosse players. Like most Catholic college preparatory schools, we also stress a solid commitment to serving those in need.
We continue to build on the foundation of success achieved over the past nine seasons. We cannot fulfill the program’s vision and achieve our mission without the financial resources provided by our primary annual fundraiser – the Boys’ Lacrosse Season Media Guide. Direct sponsor contributions and funds raised through our media guide advertisements help defray the costs of program operations, equipment, supplies, travel, training, uniforms, meals, and our program community service activities.
To our current and past sponsors, THANK YOU for helping us sustain our outstanding program. We hope you will proudly continue to support the Paul VI Boys’ Lacrosse Program. For potential new sponsors, we look forward to adding you to the list of those helping us maintain the most respected high school lacrosse program in Virginia and the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area.
