MEET THE COACHES

Coach Chris Campbell — Head Coach

Coach Campbell is in his third season leading the PVI Girls Soccer program, arriving at the school ahead of the 2022 season with twenty-five years of head-coaching experience at the high school, club, Super-Y, and WPSL levels, having coached hundreds of student-athletes. His club coaching experience includes teams for Loudoun Soccer, Southwestern Youth Association (now Virginia Valor), and Old Dominion Football Club with both the girls and the boys teams. He spent three years as the first head coach of the Cesena USA Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) team competing with teams from across the Eastern United States with college players from local universities, as well as five years as the head coach of the Nova FC/Virginia Alliance Super-Y team, starting with U-13G. He is also the head coach of the Freedom High School Girls Soccer program, which won the 2024 VHSL State Championship.

He brings academy and development-level coaching experience from U-13 through U-21. Coach Campbell has coached players who have continued their playing careers in college at all levels, D1-D3, and coached the 2024 Virginia Girls Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year, and numerous First Team All-State and Washington Post All-Met Players. He is a USSF-licensed coach, holds various coaching certifications/diplomas, and was named the 2024 Loudoun County, District, Region and Virginia High School Coach of the Year.

Coach Campbell lives in South Riding, VA with his wife Lori. They have four adult children, all who have played high school and collegiate sports. Coach Campbell has a degree from the University of Virginia.

Coach Sarah Verdis — Varsity Assistant Coach/Recovery, Mobility, and Nutrition

Coach Verdis is a high school health and physical education teacher and varsity soccer coach. She has been in education and coaching for nine years. She is also the assistant varsity coach of the Freedom High School Girls Soccer Program which won the Virginia Class 6 State Championship in 2023.

Coach Verdis specializes in post-game recovery and mobility training for athletes, utilizing her background in health and physical education, personal training, and yoga. Coach Verdis is in her third year with Paul VI Girls Soccer, and she is excited to be a member of the Panther Family!

MEET THE COACHES

Coach Kim Kammerdeiner — Varsity Assistant Coach/Goalkeeper Coach

Coach Kim Kammerdeiner is entering her fifth year as goalkeeper coach for Paul VI. She was a four-year starting goalkeeper and member of the 1985 George Mason University women’s soccer National Championship team. She was also a member of the 1991 Women’s National World Cup Champion section and a member of US Soccer Hall of Fame.

Kim has coached soccer for 35 years, and has coached all levels of youth players, from elementary school to national team programs. Her most recent club experience was as the Director of Goal Keeper Training with McLean’s ECNL and Academy teams.

Coach Kammerdeiner is also an assistant varsity coach of the Freedom High School Girls Soccer Program which won the Virginia Class 6 State Championship in 2024.

Kim’s proudest achievement is her family; she is a mother of four and has three grandchildren!

Coach Natalie McCarthy — Strength and Conditioning Coach

Coach McCarthy is a Paul VI Class of 2016 and PVI soccer alumna, NSCA strength and conditioning coach, and former all-conference collegiate soccer player at York College. Coach McCarthy played club soccer for Coach Campbell during her high school years. This is her third year on the coaching staff at Paul VI. She works full-time for the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and has a background in business and communications. Coach McCarthy is excited to be at PVI as a Panther again!

Coach Brooke Longo — JV Head Coach

Coach Longo is in her second year on the PVI Girls Soccer staff. She played soccer at Frostburg State University for four years, and has coached multiple levels throughout her soccer career, spending ten years coaching with Champion Soccer Training and coaching as a graduate assistant at Frostburg State University. She works locally as a professional firefighter/EMT, a fitness and wellness coach for the department, and the head strength and conditioning coach for Stronger LLC. Coach Longo is very excited to be a part of the PVI Girls Soccer program!
