Tanhaji is the first film of a planned franchise, titled Unsung Warriors, wherein Ajay Devgn will portray important warriors who got lost with the passage of time. “This film marks the beginning of a new franchise, because today’s generation also needs to know about the great heritage we have left behind in our past,” says the actor.

Marvel Cinematic Universe master Robert Downey Jr. revives one of literature’s most enduring characters in director Stephen Gaghan’s reimagining of the classic tale of Dr. Dolittle, a man who can communicate with animals. “Dolittle” is based on a series of children’s books by Hugh Lofting. GUEST INTERVIEW
Director of Photography
Besides a fresh star cast, Sab Kushal Mangal boasts colourful visuals. We asked Sachin Krishn, the film’s cinematographer, to take us behind the scenes:
The film looks very vibrant As soon as I saw the script on paper, I knew shooting it would be enjoyable. We spent a 45-day schedule in Ranchi, and every day was a delight. The story is set in a small town, somewhere in Jharkhand, so the location not only did total justice to it but the town itself is no less than a character in the film.
Was Ranchi the only location for the film? Yes, and it is a superb town to shoot in. It’s got a raw and real feel that fitted our situational comedy like a glove. And you’ll be surprised to know that just PVR MOVIES FIRST
10 kilometres away from the city, there’s a stretch so serene and green it reminded us of Switzerland.
Akshaye Khanna looks so different in this film Yes, I shot with him for The Accidental Prime Minister, not long ago. In that film, his look and role was diamterically opposite to what you’ll see this time. He’s playing a quirky gangster called Baba Bhandari. Filming the talented actor in this complete transformation of an avatar was wonderful.
Many new faces, including the director… It is a cinematographer’s dream to shoot with new faces, and Sab Kushal Mangal showcases two very good-looking as well as talented youngsters, Riva Kishan and Priyaank Sharma. The director, Karan Kashyap, makes his debut with this film as well so we had a lot of fresh energy on the sets. PAGE 22

Movie
It’s About Past Events A majority of the director’s films either take place in the past or tell a historically significant story. More specifically, his films retell historic events that have happened in his own life time, so they have a realistic feel. His historical films include Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, Frost/Nixon, and Rush.
It’s Packed With Machines In many Ron Howard films, you’ll see interesting relationships between his characters and vehicles. His debut film, Grand Theft Auto, dealt with cars. Rush focussed heavily on cars. Gung Ho (1986) takes place in a car factory, Parenthood features a drag racing scene, Backdraft includes plenty of fire trucks, Apollo 13 includes both a rocket and a Corvette, Mel Gibson’s character in Ransom is an airline owner, How The Grinch Stole Christmas is full of wacky Dr. Seuss contraptions, and The Da Vinci Code features a car chase sequence.
It Features Water Ron Howard’s films often feature water as an important

element. It could be rain falling from the sky, the water that firefighters use to put out flames, the ocean, or even a glass of water as a symbolic element in Frost/Nixon. In 2015, he made In The Heart of The Sea, about the sinking of the American whaling ship Essex in 1820.
It’s A Family Affair Ron Howard’s parents played an influential role in shaping his career. His father, Rance Howard, was an actor and director himself, and Ron cast him in a small supporting role in nearly all of his films. He has cast his mother Jean Speegle Howard twice. His brother, Clint Howard, has been cast in a variety of supporting roles in 16 of Ron Howard’s films. Ron Howard’s daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, has been cast minor roles in 3 of his films, and his wife, Cheryl Howard, has walk-on roles in 6 of his films.
It’s Got a Great Cast Ron Howard has formed lasting relationships with bigname movie stars. And he likes to work with the very best. He has had 8 Oscar-nominated actors working in his films. Of these, Michael Keaton, Russel Crowe, Gary Sinse and Tom Hanks have worked with him more than once. PVR MOVIES FIRST
