Welcome
to the PWAPM National Leadership Conference Welcome to the Gold Coast! It is an honour and privilege for me to welcome you all to the very first PWAPM National Leadership Conference. The PWAPM committee have put in a lot of hard work to make sure this event is successful, and we are very excited to be able to present to you such a stellar line up of speakers and workshops. Let me begin by saying that it has been quite a year. For those of you who have braved the ongoing restrictions to get here, I admire your persistence. There were several times we thought this conference would need to be postponed, but luck was in our favour. I am delighted to welcome delegates and sponsors who have travelled from all states to attend this event.
Nicky Turner PWAPM President
In the last 12 months there has been a significant shift towards virtual conferences, and although online conferences are essential in this current time, there is no denying the value of face-to-face events like this one. Face to face events lead to stronger, more meaningful business relationships. While video and conference calls can certainly be convenient, there is no denying the effectiveness of meeting in person. This conference focuses on leadership. This program has been carefully chosen to include speakers who effectively lead people, inspire commitment within the workforce, manage change, and mentor and develop employees. Conferences are more than just sitting and listening to speakers, conferences are about forming relationships. Being a female in a male dominated industry spread across the nation, meeting and greeting other females in a similar role and forming relationships is even more important than ever. You will walk away from this conference feeling inspired, more focused, and more productive. You will build personal connections with like-minded people. You will find new ideas to implement from great mentors. You will learn more about this industry and find out more about specific companies. You will discover opportunities. Speaking from experience you only get back what you put into a conference, so step out of your comfort zone and introduce yourself to as many of us as you can, remember we are all here for the same reasons! I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you throughout this conference. Make this conference count!

Keynote Speakers Amanda Stevens Entertaining. Inspiring. Humorous. Engaging. Memorable. These are just some of the words used to describe Amanda Stevens, CSP. After wowing audiences in 14 countries for more than a decade on the speaking circuit, Amanda is widely regarded as one of the best female speakers in Australia. With a double degree in marketing and consumer psychology, Amanda has authored five books and is highly regarded as a marketing consultant, having been engaged to work with brands such as Microsoft, Westpac, Foxtel, Lend Lease, Priceline, and even advising at the highest levels of Australian politics. She’s shared the stage with the likes of Sir Bob Geldof, Sir Richard Branson and Condoleezza Rice and has presented for audiences ranging in size from 30 to 3,000 at all levels of business. With consumer expectations changing faster than digital disruption, a shifting landscape requires business owners and marketers to think differently when it comes to brand-building. Now is the time to think differently, to show true business bravery and to think in EPIC terms – not necessarily just in scale but in character. Decoding the science of advocacy, Amanda explores why your existing customer base is possibly the greatest hidden asset in any business and outlines a plan to create a brand that customers willingly and enthusiastically rave about. She presents a customised approach for harnessing brand advocacy in a post-digital age and why the combination of high tech and high touch is the next frontier in brand disruption.
