COVID-19 Practices for Summer Camps The health and safety of all camp participants, staff, and their families remains our paramount goal. In order to mitigate the risk of coronavirus exposure, the following health and safety practices have been implemented. • Children who have symptoms of infectious illness, such as influenza (flu) or COVID-19, need to stay home and seek advice on testing and treatment from their physician. • All campers are encouraged to perform a daily health assessment for symptoms of COVID- 19 prior to arrival to camp each day. Those displaying symptoms need to remain home. • While not required, all campers and staff who wish to wear a face covering will be supported. • Intermingling between camp groups will be minimized and the sharing of communal supplies or toys between campers will be limited to the maximum extent possible. • Social distancing will be encouraged, and activities structured to minimize contact between campers when possible. • Campers will spend more time engaged in play outside during appropriate weather conditions. • We will have hand sanitizer stations and designated handwashing times. • Additional cleaning and sanitation practices will be implemented. • If a child develops symptoms of an infectious illness such as influenza (flu) or COVID-19, they will be isolated, and must be picked up within 2 hours. There will be a strict 48-hour sick policy. If a child has a fever, they cannot return until they are 48 hours fever free without the aid of medicine. • Campers who do not consistently follow safety directives from staff regarding distancing, hand washing, and other expected behaviors may be disenrolled. The operations of our camps are subject to change throughout the summer as the Commonwealth and our local public health officials offer additional guidance. Please feel free to reach out to the camp director at your child’s camp site at any time with any questions you may have.
