e’re all responsible for the energy we use in our homes. Whether you’re a homeowner, private or social renter or student, there are many things you can
do to reduce how much energy you use and how much is spent. Take a look at our quick tips and see if you’re saving as much energy as you could be. 1. Understand your bill The information on a typical energy bill can be confusing. But understanding it can go a long way to helping you get to grips with your energy use.

It's a low-cost, easy, do-it-yourself solution for illuminating a path and highlighting plantings. Wake Up the Night Add drama to your garden by spotlighting a specimen tree or other focal point. Uplighting provided by spotlights accentuates the texture of tree trunks and creates a pleasing glow on foliage. Huge crisp onion rings (gents - if you've forgotten one of Those Occasions, one of these will happily double as a golden bracelet to avoid doghouse-related ignominy) are lightly done. Belly pork has my name all over it: tenderstem broccoli and skilfully rendered meat are layered on top of crushed new potatoes. The mushroom ragĂş is a lovely thing, several varieties combined in a cream-based sauce which still managed to let the meatiness of the fungi sing. By this point it is abundantly clear this kitchen knows how to present good ingredients with a minimum of needless fuss. Serving sizes are large- you won't go hungry- but we battled manfully to sample desserts. KEEPING ACTIVE Start/Finish: This circular walk starts and finishes overlooking the Bristol Channel near Rhoose Railway Station (see sketch map). Public Transport: Nearest Railway Station is at Rhoose. Please check ‘Traveline’ and timetables before you embark on your journey. Parking: There is parking near the railway station and in the village of Rhoose. O/S Map: Explorer 151 Distance: 8 miles. For shorter 3.5 mile walk, start and finish in village of Penmark. Time: Allow all day and spend some time exploring the Churches, villages and ‘Valley of the Stags’ along the route. Refreshments: Stock up on food in Rhoose as there are no shops along the route. There is ‘The Highwayman’ PH at Rhoose, ‘The Six Bells’ at Penmark and ‘The Fox and Hounds’ at Llancarfan. Terrain: Mainly flat and fairly level with a moderate climb near Penmark Place. There are steps, gates, stiles and sections of uneven ground with crops so the walk is regrettably unsuitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. History: Apart from a ‘Valeway Trail’ produced by the Vale of Glamorgan Council, little is known about ‘The Valley of the Stags’ and the local people say they have never seen deer in these parts. The legend that a stag helped St. Cadoc build a monastery in the valley is supported by the beautiful weather-vane depicting a ‘golden stag’ on the church tower at Llancarfan. The villages and hamlets to the north of the B4265 are well worth exploring anyway and you may be lucky enough to see a stag on your walk. The stream through ‘The Valley of the Stags’ is on private ground so please remain on the footpath. There are, however, two delightful ‘fords’ and an old watermill with a mill-wheel higher up the stream in the village of Llancarfan. You also get very close views of aircraft!

Allow for agricultural machinery to pass your vehicle). 4: Cross to footpath opposite, go over stile and walk across field towards ‘Penn Onn Farm’. Aim towards left end of woodland. Cardiff city hall Cardiff's City Hall stands in what has been acclaimed one of the finest civic centres in Europe. The bells themselves are cast from pure copper and tin, and each one is engraved with a motto. The hour bell, as well as the second and fourth quarter bells, have mottoes in Welsh. The first and third bells are inscribed in English. The mottoes chosen are: Hour Bell
