Planning Considerations

1. Provide support in corners and behind appliances with wall battens. 2. Please ensure windowsill areas are prepared and level. Please specify if a ‘lug’ is required, they are manufactured without as standard. 3. A 5mm gap either side of any free standing appliance must be left. 8-10mm when an Aga is used with Corian® or Hi-macs® solid surface materials. 4. Please ensure any plug sockets or light switches are in their final position prior to splashback and wall-cladding templating. 5. Wall units must be fitted for splashback and wall-cladding templating. 6. If you are using upstands please make sure there is a 20mm clearance from the top of the upstand to the bottom of ALL sockets. 7. Ceramic and undermount sinks require additional support. PWS can supply a kit, please advise if this is required. 8. Where two freestanding appliances are planned side by side please ensure an end panel is fitted between them. This must go to the floor as it is structurally essential. 9. All cabinets must be fixed, level and in their final position. 10. To ensure a correct worksurface radius, curved doors must be fitted prior to templating. 11. To ensure a correct overhang, doors on a handleless rail system must be fitted. 12. Please ensure you have all appliances, sinks and taps onsite but not installed at time of templating with the exception of belfast sinks which should be installed. Consideration as to how these are to be centred should be given i.e. to a window, wall cabinet or base units. A decision maker must be on site at time of template to discuss joint positions, appliance positions and answer any other questions that may arise.
