Let the colors revolutionize your life
location
Duplex is located in a well-known district in Tehran with highrise buildings. The challenge is to divide spaces in two floors in order to avoid one of them being abandoned. All spaces must be vibrant for residents to stay in. being unpredictable is another idea leading to this kind of planning. Actually, it stems from the Iranian’s apartments built in previous decades, as spaces were not well defined or divided in these places.

The staircase is positioned immediately after the entrance between the northern part including dining room, kitchen, a small living room, a small workplace and the southern part including the main living rooms, terrace and the cozy place designed for watching movies. The next floor consists of private spaces as well as bedrooms and a kitchen with a living room next to that.

The concept of making places vibrant with colors is best indicated in sections. The colors flow around the spaces and make them connected. The feeling of spaces being cohesive continues vertically in private spaces too. Spaces are meticulously divided based on public and private notions allowing residents have their own space while enjoying each other’s company in more

This hotel was designed by Walton Becket and associates in 1973. Although the planning and interior spaces were designed successfully, the whole place has turned to a mess due to the varying interior managements during decades. The main concept was making a unity in the main places especially where the series of pillars were located. The interior design had to be in harmony with the structure that played the most significant role there. This was made possible by the color selections, furniture and lightings. Additionally, I intended to bring a sense of art to the entrance. Guests could feel they are in a piece of art rather than just staying in a hotel for a short time.
