William T Gholson: Life, Love, and Cars William T Gholson graduated with a degree in business from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982. He immediately started working back in his hometown of San Antonio for a boating parts distributor. In five years, he rose to become the company’s top salesman. He won Salesman of the Year in 1987 and 1988. He enjoyed his position as a boat parts distributor, but when the opportunity to move into auto parts distribution business presented itself, he knew he had to take it. Gholson has been in love with cars and how they work since as long as he can remember. During college, he married his high school sweetheart, Jean, when they were both still attending the University of Texas. He asked Jean to marry him in the front seat of a 1965 Ford Falcon that he had bought from his neighbors and worked painstakingly on to restore when he was a junior in college. William T Gholson says he has had five great loves in his life: cars, Jean, NASCAR, and his two children. Now he has the opportunity to share his love and knowledge of cars with the community that raised him from birth. William T Gholson is a great ambassador for his hometown. He spent years working as a tour guide at the Alamo to help pay for college, and he still speaks reverently of the history of bloodshed and glory associated with the sacred landmark. He is a well-spoken advocate for the community that has made him successful over the course of the past fifteen years in the auto parts business. A secret that he tells everyone visiting San Antonio: take the San Antonio Trolley to experience all the history that surrounds the city. He says that you can catch the trolley at the Alamo and take it through the heart of old San Antonio and Market Square, where there are hundreds of shops and plenty of history all around. William T Gholson spent his life around cars in San Antonio, and he continues to help people with their car troubles in any way he can. He loves getting people through the sometimes vexing process of getting worn down automobiles back safely on the road. His personal specialty, drive trains, is his passion, and he hopes for many more years in the industry and many more satisfied customers to come. Over the years, he has brought excellence to his profession and his community responds to it.
