TRAVEL TIPS WHEN TO GO

Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid all year round and is affected by two different monsoon periods. The Northeast Monsoon season takes place from December to March with frequent rain. The Southwest Monsoon season falls between May and September and is marginally dryer. Soak up the lively atmosphere during the months of July to September when many festivals such as the Singapore Food Festival and the Great Singapore Sale are in full swing. Malaysia has a tropical climate with high temperatures and high humidity throughout the year. Monsoon season for the south-west is from May to September and the north-east from November to March. On the west coast, the green months are May to October, while on the east coast, the green months are September to December. Enjoy the lush countryside and bountiful waterfalls when visiting after the green season. INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ATTRACTION

ARCHITECTURAL MARVELS

Delve into Singapore and Malaysia’s interesting past. In Singapore, explore wartime history at Changi Museum, learn about the history of the iconic Merlion and visit the nation’s oldest museum, the National Museum of Singapore. In Malaysia, George Town and Malacca serve as living museums with well-preserved heritage buildings and historical sites. Visit the blue Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion and the Khoo Kongsi clan house. LIVELY NEIGHBOURHOODS Explore Singapore’s neighbourhoods and gain a great insight into the city’s diversity. Chinatown is a bustling mix of old and new while Little India buzzes with a vibrant Indian community. Discover Peranakan culture in Joo Chiat and visit Kampong Glam for its mosque and colourful Haji Lane. Kuala Lumpur also has its own Chinatown and Little India, as well as the trendy shopping and entertainment district of Bukit Bintang and the ‘city within a city’ of KLCC. Penang’s George Town is known for its heritage buildings, colourful trishaws and fantastic street art.

FAMILY FUN

AUTHENTIC CUISINE

SACRED TEMPLES

Families will love the thrilling attractions of Sentosa Island in Singapore. Go ziplining at Mega Adventure Park, ride an epic wave at Wave House, float around at Adventure Cove Waterpark, role play at KidZania and experience all the excitement of Universal Studios Singapore™. On mainland Singapore enjoy Gardens by the Bay and Singapore Zoo. LEGOLAND® Malaysia is a favourite day out and riding the cable car on Langkawi is a real adventure. Many resorts offer pools with waterslides, water playgrounds and kids clubs with a variety of activities.

Eat your way around Singapore and Malaysia. This melting pot of cultures dishes up a variety of cuisines from Laksa and Chilli Crab to Nasi Goreng and Rendang. Known for its Michelinstarred restaurants and amazing rooftop bars, Singapore has plenty of choice when it comes to wining and dining. In contrast, the tastiest local fare can be found at night markets and street hawker centres. Chinatown has some of Kuala Lumpur’s best eats, and Penang is renowned as Malaysia’s food capital – a must-visit for anyone who loves great food!

Intricate temples, colourful shrines and huge mosques make up the fabric of this culture. Visit the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum in Singapore, which houses an impressive collection of religious artefacts, and view the ‘Floating Mosque’ in Kota Kinabalu in Borneo which is great to photograph as it appears to float on water. In Kuala Lumpur see vividly decorated Thean Hou Temple and don’t miss visiting the popular Batu Caves which are guarded by a large statue of a Hindu deity. BEAUTIFUL BEACHES

BORNEO’S ORANGUTANS

With sandy shores and warm waters, Malaysia’s beaches are perfect for a relaxed honeymoon or fun family holiday. Langkawi is one of the most prominent beach destinations with many beachfront resorts from which to choose. Batu Ferringhi is a popular beach in Penang with a long stretch of white sand and a great night market to keep you occupied when the sun goes down. Laze away the days, snorkel, kayak or try a new watersport such as jet skiing, parasailing and windsurfing – there’s something for everyone.

Seeing the gentle orangutan is an experience you’ll remember forever. Visit Sabah’s Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre or Sarawak’s Semenggok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre where you may see orangutans feeding and playing as they gain their independence and eventually return voluntarily to the wild. Your visit helps support conservation efforts and provides ongoing medical care and protection of these magnificent creatures. A cruise along the Kinabatangan River is another great way to spot wild orangutan.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS

HOW TO BOOK

Your deposit is forfeited.

Contact your ATAS travel agent and request a reservation. All verbal quotes provided are an estimate only and subject to change until confirmed in writing.

PRICES & CONDITIONS

This brochure was printed on 9 December 2019. The prices in this brochure are valid for travel from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021, unless otherwise stated, are in Australian dollars and include GST where applicable. Exchange rates used when pricing this brochure are as at 12 November 2019. All prices are subject to availability, subject to change and can be withdrawn or varied without notice. Price changes may occur by reason of matters outside our control which increase the cost of the Product or Service. Such factors include (without limitation) adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and airfare increases. Surcharges and minimum stays may apply due to demand, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, school and public holidays, special events and other circumstances. All prices are the lowest available prices at the time of print and are a guide only. Please check all prices, availability, fees, conditions and information with your travel agent before booking. If we must change any part of your booking for reasons beyond our control, for example, an Accommodation Supplier overbooks accommodation, or if there is an increase in taxes or Supplier charges, we will notify you. If any such changes result in your holiday costing more or otherwise being materially different from that originally booked, you may cancel the booking and we will refund any monies already paid less any charges levied by Suppliers.

PRICES DO NOT INCLUDE

Anything not specifically indicated as being an inclusion.

OMISSIONS & ERRORS

While every effort is made to ensure the accuracy and currency of the information in the brochures, errors or omissions may occur. All errors and omissions identified post the date of publication are notified to our retail partners to advise you. Please check with your agent for all up-to-date corrections, including prices and inclusions.

DEPOSITS & FINAL PAYMENTS Deposit

You will be required to pay a deposit or deposits upon confirmation of your booking. Your travel agent will advise you of how much that will be. All deposits are non-refundable for changes of mind or cancellations by you (subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law).

Final Payment

Final payment of your holiday cost is required at least 30 days prior to departure or by sale end date or by the payment deadline specified in individual package conditions, whichever is earlier. Some services, including airfares, may require full payment at the time of booking. For bookings made less than 31 days prior to travel, full payment of holiday cost is required at the time your booking is confirmed. Please ensure payments are made by the due dates. If this does not happen, our system will automatically cancel the booking without notice or liability to you. Only upon payment of the full cost of your holiday do you have a final booking with the Supplier of the relevant good and/or service. In arranging your booking, Viva Holidays is acting as the agent of the Supplier of the relevant Product and at no time do you have a contract with Viva Holidays.

CREDIT & DEBIT CARD SURCHARGES

A fee will apply for payments made by debit and credit cards. Fees may vary depending on card type. Please check this fee with us or your travel agent when booking.
