REPLACE WORK OR PORTIONS OF WORK THAT DO NOT CONFORM TO SPECIFIED REQUIREMENTS AND MANUFACTURER'S REQUIREMENTS. 4 ENERGY INSPECTIONS AND TESTING ET1 HOME SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING INSPECTIONS AND TESTS PERFORMED. THESE TESTS WILL BE PREFORMED BY 3RD PARTY HERS RATER/GREEN RATER HIRED BY THE OWNER. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR’S RESPONSIBILITY TO COORDINATE THE SCHEDULE WITH THE HERS RATER AND OWNER SO THEY ARE DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER. ET2 1ST TRIP - PRE-DRYWALL: AIR SEAL INSPECTION - THIS INSPECTION IS TO ENSURE ALL PENETRATIONS BETWEEN CONDITIONED SPACE AND AMBIENT CONDITIONS HAS BEEN PROPERLY SEALED WITH THE SPECIFIED PRODUCTS AND TO ENSURE THE HOUSE WRAP AND WINDOW FLASHINGS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED PER MANUFACTURERS' AND ASER'S SPECIFICATIONS. ET2.1 HVAC SYSTEM INSPECTION - INSPECTION TO ENSURE ALL HVAC EQUIPMENT AND AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED PER CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS & MANUFACTURERS' SPECIFICATIONS. ET2.2 DUCT LEAKAGE TEST - THIS TEST WILL ENSURE THE DUCTS ARE TIGHTLY SEALED TO THE CIP STANDARDS. ET2.3 INSULATION INSPECTION - THIS INSPECTION IS PERFORMED AT A “ZERO TOLERANCE” STANDARD, MEANING NO VOIDS, GAPS, COMPRESSIONS, MISALIGNMENTS, ETC.). ET2.4 “BLOWER DOOR” - AIR INFILTRATION TEST. THIS TEST IS CONDUCTED TO CONFIRM THE HOME HAS BEEN SEALED TO THE CIP STANDARDS. ET2.5 INFRA-RED THERMOGRAPHY SCANNING - A COMPLETE INFRA-RED THERMOGRAPHY SCAN OF EACH UNIT TO ENSURE THE INTEGRITY OF THE BUILDING ENVELOPE HAD NOT BEEN DISTURBED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS. ET3 2ND TRIP - FINAL ENERGY: FINAL ENERGY - THIS INSPECTION IS TO ENSURE THERE HAS BEEN NO DISTURBANCE IN THE ATTIC INSULATION. IT IS ALSO TO ENSURE ALL WEATHER STRIPPING HAS BEEN INSTALLED AND THE CORRECT TYPE OF LIGHTING HAS BEEN INSTALLED. ET3.1 “BLOWER DOOR” - AIR INFILTRATION TEST. WF3 USE BACKER ROD OR NON-EXPANDING SPRAY FOAM TO SEAL DOORS AND WINDOWS TO THEIR ROUGH OPENING. DO NOT USE EXPANDING SPRAY FOAM BETWEEN THE ROUGH OPENING AND THE WINDOW. WF4 SEAL BETWEEN THE DOOR THRESHOLD AND SUBFLOORING WITH MASTIC (VERY LOW - 0 VOC). WF5 ADJUST THE DOOR THRESHOLD PROPERLY FOR AN AIR TIGHT FIT. WF6 INSTALL WEATHERSTRIPPING AT EACH EXTERIOR DOOR. 9 THERMAL ENVELOPE - INSULATION TE1 INSULATION LEVELS AND TYPES: SPRAY ROCKWOOL MANUFACTURER: AMERROCK PRODUCT: ROCKWOOL PREMIUM PLUS TE1.1 CEILING INSULATION: SPRAY ROCKWOOL: R-30 (8.8") TE1.2 CATHEDRAL CEILING INSULATION: SPRAY ROCKWOOL: R-30 (8.8") TE1.4 BAND JOIST INSULATION:SPRAY ROCKWOOL: R-23.5 (5.5") TE1.3 WALL INSULATION: SPRAY ROCKWOOL R-15 (3.5") W/1" ROXUL COMFORT BOARD IS R-5 (1.25") TE1.5 CRAWL SPACE INTERIOR WALL INSULATION: SPRAY ROCKWOOL: R-23.5 (5.5") TE1.6 FOUNDATION INSULATION: RIGID INSULATION R-8 (2" ROXUL COMFORT BOARD) TE1.7 UNDER SLAB INSULATION @ EDGE: RIGID INSULATION R-8 (2" ROXUL COMFORT BOARD) TE2 ANY EXTERIOR WALL OR CATHEDRAL CEILING RECEIVING SPRAY FOAM AND A THERMAL BARRIER (I.E. GYP BD) INSTALLED OVER THE FOAM, SHALL BE FILLED FULL-DEPTH AND HAVE EXCESS FOAM SHAVED OFF AND SCRAPED CLEAN DOWN TO THE FACE OF THE STUD/RAFTER FRAMING TO ALLOW PROPER INSTALLATION OF THE THERMAL BARRIER. TE3 ALL RIM JOISTS (BAND JOISTS) ABOVE OR BELOW AN INSULATED EXTERIOR WALL SHALL BE SPRAYED WITH A MINIMUM OF 6 INCHES OF SPRAY FOAM INSULATION. TE4 INSULATE THE WALLS BEHIND THE BATH TUB PRIOR TO TUB INSTALLATION. 10 AIR SEALING - POLY SEAL & CAULKING AS1 AIRFLOW THROUGH CRACKS AND HOLES IN THE WALLS, CEILING AND FLOOR IS REFERRED TO AS AIR INFILTRATION. AIR INFILTRATION IS MINIMIZED BY CAULKING AND SEALING THE ENVELOPE, USUALLY PERFORMED BY THE INSULATION CONTRACTOR. A HOME THAT IS NOT SEALED FOR AIR INFILTRATION WILL BE UNCOMFORTABLE DUE TO DRAFTS AND CAN USE APPROXIMATELY 30% OR MORE ENERGY THAN A RELATIVELY AIRTIGHT HOME. CONTROLLING AIR INFILTRATION IS ONE OF THE MOST COST-EFFECTIVE ENERGY-EFFICIENCY MEASURES IN MODERN CONSTRUCTION PRACTICES. IN ADDITION, GOOD CAULKING AND SEALING WILL REDUCE DUST AND POLLUTANTS THAT CAN ENTER HOMES THROUGH CRACKS AND HOLES. CAULKING AND SEALING IS ALSO ONE OF THE SIMPLEST ENERGY-EFFICIENCY MEASURES TO INSTALL. AS2 THE FOLLOWING AREAS SHALL BE SEALED WITH 50 YEAR SILICONIZED CAULK CAPABLE OF STOPPING AIRFLOW BETWEEN CONDITIONED SPACE AND UNCONDITIONED ATTIC SPACE, GARAGE, AND/OR AMBIENT CONDITIONS. OPENINGS LARGER THAN 1/4" SHALL BE SEALED WITH FOAM INSULATION. AS3 AS3.1 AS3.1A AS3.1B AS3.2 AS3.2A AS3.2B AS4 AS5
