Singapore is an oasis of Asian culture and hospitality with modern aesthetics. The cosmopolitan city hosts a multitude of activities perfect for a family holiday. Singapore is also considered one of the world’s safest cities. People are friendly and can converse in English. Taxis, MRT (Metro), and public buses are available at all locations. Immediately upon arriving at the award-winning Changi Airport, you will be transported into the urbanised jungle. Here are our top 8 picks that you should take advantage of while in Singapore.

1. Garden by the Bay

Start your trip at ‘Gardens by the Bay,’ a botanical haven for nature and plant lovers. There are several attractions, including a beautiful Rainforest and Waterfall in the Cloud dome, our favourite. Then, take the skywalk to indulge in an overview of the beautiful Flower dome, where flowers never stop blooming. The Garden Pod, the newest addition, offers sustainable accommodation for nature lovers. Do not miss the music and light show outdoors in the evening — ideal for nature and photography lovers. The visit takes around 4-5 hours, and there are many eateries around the area, too.

2. The Singapore Flyer

Fifteen minutes from ‘Garden by the Bay’, you will find the Giant Ferris Wheel ‘Singapore Flyer.’ The massive 165-metre wheel offers the most amazing views of Lion city. The 30-minute ride claims to give you a sneak peek into Malaysia and Indonesia. We recommend taking the flyer at night to witness the breathtaking lights of the city.

3. Clarks Quay

During the evening, head to Clarke Quay. Previously a wharf for loading and unloading goods, it is now an integrated entertainment area during nighttime. Many colourful bars, eateries, and restaurants become a bubbly socialising and gastronomic zone for night owls. We recommend the Jumbo Seafood restaurant for delicious authentic Chinese dishes. After dinner, take a stroll to Waterfront Promenade and Merlion Park.

and 4D Adventureland. In addition, adventure Cove and the beautiful S.E.A aquarium are home to amazing amphibian species and fish.

Adrenaline junkies can do Mega Jump Bungee jump or Mega Zip, or take a walk at Siloso Beach or Palawan beach. Many options for food and beverages are available and transport to and from different islands in the resort is also free.

7. Universal Studios

Six themes across Universal Studios mean fun for everyone regardless of age. You can spend the whole day at the park. Get ready for high fives with the Minions and a galactic ride with the Transformers. The most recommended rides are the Jurassic slides, and the Mummy Returns 4D roller coaster. Don’t forget to take the fast pass to skip the long queue.

4. Little India

Be mystified by Singapore’s most colourful historical sites when you visit Little India. You are transported to Indian heritage when you walk through the blends of new and old in the streets. With mouthwatering Asian eateries alongside the road, the smell of spices and jasmine flowers that adorn the roadside is genuinely a captivating experience. Don’t forget to visit the Veeramakaliamman Temple, Mustafa Center and Tekka Centre, which offer cheap shopping and thrifts. Our favourite restaurant is Muthus Curry, located in Racecourse; they serve the award-winning fish head curry with steamed rice. In addition, their Singaporean crab is divine and not to be missed.

5. Geylang

In the evening, take a stroll through Geylang and enjoy the most delicious Durians, Rambutan, and lychees. Geylang is named the late-night district but is very safe to go with kids. The durian stalls are open till midnight. Durian 36 is our recommendation.

6. Sentosa Island

Can’t stop talking about the bundle of activities available at Sentosa Island. The best way to enjoy the island is to stay at one of the resorts located inside the island. The most recommended resort is Sofitel Resorts. This haven is adorned with live peacocks that stroll the terrace while you enjoy breakfast.

Transportation inside the island is free, with buses running every 10-15 minutes. In addition, the iconic cable car gives a 360 view of the beautiful island.

My favourite picks are thrilling lude rides and skyline trip back

8. Shopping

Singapore is a shopaholic paradise. You can find the highestend brands to the lowest steals within one hour’s distance. Orchard Road offers a variety of shopping with international department stores and boutiques, offering budget apparel, electronics and high-end fashion labels.

China Town and Haji Lane offer heritage and local trinkets, silks, and brocades. If you love bargaining, hop into the Bugis Street flea market. Alternatively, Lucky Plaza, Far East Plaza, and Mustafa Centre all have pocket-friendly shopping too.
