The study focused on the shitake mushroom micro cells allowing us to explore the form to the depths. Model makin were required throughout the process with many possibilities were found throughout the given time. The interwoven cells was identified as a single module that can be connected to each other, which later results the final model.

The design was derived by the use of space in old shop houses in Penang. where one would easily buy a furniture to get it fit in a house, or rather the idea of letting the furniture flows and creates the space and furniture desired in one’s home.

The Chef’s hideout focuses on giving privacy on different heights. A tree house implemented with activities such as bouldering gives the opportunity for them to relax while enjoying their rest. The idea of having different level seperates the public and private space.

Yusof Ghani is a known artist in Malaysia. This project focuses on building an annexe gallery for Yusof Ghani to exhibit his paintings. A pre-requisite painting has to be done by each of us and finally, derived from the light trails from stars at night, taken with a slow shutter camera, inspired the gallery’s design.

Children Resource Center.

Scoop is derived from a child’s first toy, paper folding. An art, originated from Japan, named Ori(to fold) kami(paper). This method was used as the design generator to manipulate the issues concerning both children and the environment. With the combination of paper folding art together with the Malay house roof form, hence the “scoop” like form is generated. Metaphorically, inside SCOOP!, the childeren will become the tools to harvest the knowledge of nature, not in a formal way, but in a more relaxing and interactive way. SCOOP! is a catchy word for children, as they tend to use short words to call or describe something. “SCOOP!-y”. “SCOOP!-y doo”, “SCOOP!-er”

Rifle Range Urban Renewal - Centralizing the Un-centralised The title of the intervention is “Centralizing the Un-Centralised�. The intention is to arrange the scattered existing programmes by reconstructing new residential blocks for the residents of Rifle Range. The process of centralization will focus on the ground area and vertically as well. The aim is to create more interaction for the residents, either old or upcoming residents thus creating a balance for Rifle Range witout losing its essence.

One of the issues in Bali is that the locals could only provide 0.3% fish for the local market. Bali island had to import 15,000 tonnes of fish anually from Sulawesi and West Java. In order to cater this problem, the government’s action was to introduced a housing program that will shelter the Marine Affairs and Fisheries Department of Indonesia(MAFD) to conduct research at the same time promoting aqua-culture to the Balinese as a new alternative from the traditional method of fishing.

Hypothesis Kain batik have been a useful piece of cloth where it is usually worn as sarong, made into a baby’s ‘buaian’, used to cover heads whilst farming at the paddy field and to being a rug. It is unique that we can have a sarong for everyday use and another ine for formal occasions such as ‘kenduri’ or going out. In this millenia era the kain batik has evolved from an easy process of waxing and dying a cloth repeatedly it has become an industry where mass production is easily available now. A good kain batik is one where we can’t tell which is the inside or the outside. The proposal of wan azhar batik is aimed to educate locals about the history of batik, batik making and how it evoles throughout thr years. It also gives the opportunity for locals to feel the glory days of the ‘old town’ years.
